I found Tracy of Budding Events on Craigslist. She is amazing and really works with you! Similar to what Shannan had mentioned, she responds to email/voicemail very quickly! I had no idea what our wedding bouquets could look like and Tracy kept throwing ideas at me! I have to say, our flowers were AMAZING and more beautiful than I could have imagined! Tracy was amazing from the moment we met her! I do not know a thing about flowers but I knew what colors I wanted for my wedding. Tracy was GREAT at communicating with me and made sure I would be happy with what she had in mind, she sent me pictures of all different types so I could pick. When we met with her she already had some ideas and started pulling different pictures as I described what kind of feel I wanted. She was prompt on arrival the day of the wedding and I had told originally told her no yellow in the boutonniere's and she came with different boutonniere's prepared because the flower I wanted she could only find with a yellow rim. She brought the flowers to show me just in case, and I ended up liking the flower with the yellow anyway. She made the new boutonniere's right there on the spot and they looked beautiful! PROS: Tracy did an amazing job maintaining a dialogue with me before the wedding. She was very patient with all of my requests and concerns, and we exchanged many detailed emails and photos in preparation for the big day. She worked very well within our budget and was personable, helpful, and offered great suggestions. The arrangements for the wedding were very beautiful and tastefully done. Everybody commented on how lovely the ceremony site and hall looked, between the lovely arrangements Tracy made and the decorations my friend set up for me. CONS: The only problem was...this was a fall-themed wedding. I really wanted lots of leaves, everything very "autumn". I emailed Tracy a week or two before the wedding asking if she had enough leaves for all the tables, the baskets and bouquets - and offering to buy more on my own if necessary - but she assured me she had plenty. I was more than a little disappointed that none of the bouquets had fall-colored leaves in them, and that there were only a few leaves at most of the tables. Perhaps I was not as clear as I could have been...I could have said "I want everything to scream "autumn"" but I didn't say that in those exact words because I also wanted tasteful flowers, not completely overpowered by leaves. But I did explain that it was a fall themed wedding and that pretty much the only decor in the hall would be the flowers, on this point I was extremely clear. It is also possible that Tracy made a creative decision not to incorporate leaves because of the aesthetics of the arrangements themselves. Either way, I was very disappointed. And looking back, I was clear that I wanted orange as a primary color in my arrangements, but they were all red and yellow, no orange flowers, no leaves, no fall themed arrangements. Bummer. The only other thing that turned out to be a bit frustrating was having to clean up (i.e. dump all the water out, etc.) and deliver all of the borrowed mirrors and tall vases back to Tracy's home. My wedding was in Elk Grove and Budding Events is in Rancho Cordova...it was just a lot of work and very far to drive after the wedding, especially because of circumstances beyond our control we ended up having to do it in 5 o'clock traffic. That is obviously not Tracy's fault, and she did give us a few days after the wedding to return everything. I have spoken with Tracy since the wedding, and she informed me that she does offer a clean-up and pick-up service option which I opted not to take. Although I do not recall this (no surprise, since planning a wedding is very stressful), it does not surprise me that I would decline the service as we were on a tight budget and that is exactly the kind of corner I would cut. So this last part is entirely my fault. My advice to you, then, is to pay for the clean-up and pick-up - in hindsight, it is totally worth it. All of that clean up is honestly the last thing a bride wants to do after her wedding - even days after. And if you're a control freak like me and want to make sure everything is done properly so you don't end up getting charged for broken or missing items or things being returned late, it's hard to trust someone else to do it. It also seems unfair to burden someone else with that responsibility, especially if your family, friends, and bridal party (like mine) have already been so giving of themselves and their time. read more

At first, I thought working with Tracy would be amazing. It wasn't until my wedding day (3-21-15)that I regretted going with her. I ordered garden roses, and paid for garden roses, and apparently they "were stuck in customs." Did she inform me? No, instead she gave me fake flowers in bouquet and I only found out she. She delivered them to me. All the bouquets and boutineers and weeping and falling apart after just two hours!! We kept them in water the whole time, but the pins came out and flowers were dropping as my bridesmaids were holding the bouquets downward!! I ordered carnation balls to go on top of small glasses and she made these balls holding six flowers, but charged me 75 per ball, with me supplying the vases!! Also, day of he wedding, she decides that she would not pick up her supplies at the end of day, and that I would be responsible for them, even though I have email proof she stated she would pick up the glassware! The day of the wedding, she threw around the fact that she had to spend more money to buy me the silk flowers since what I paid for didn't arrive, and that per contract she could make any decision she wanted in regards to flower choices without contacting me. Completely rude on the day of the wedding, and if I wouldn't have paid in advance, I would have gone without flowers instead of paying her good money!! I was balling my eyes out looking at my bouquet and she was like oh well!! Do NOT go with her. I beg you. read more

It was an outdoor wedding with a large arch and the flowers on the arch were so beautiful. Many of our guests complimented the flowers, specifically the centerpieces and bouquets. Tracy from budding events has done amazing work for me on three separate events! Two weddings and one baby shower. The first was one of my dearest friends beach wedding in which she only wanted a bouquet for herself, a bouquet for her daughter, (who was the flower girl), and a boutonniere for her husband to be. Tracy was happy to provide my friend with a small order when other florists would not. On the second occasion, Tracy provided flowers for a baby shower for my sister. The flowers were gorgeous and arrived on time and again were the best deal in town! The most recent event Tracy helped me with was my sister's wedding which she delivered to a golf course in Lake Tahoe! The flowers held together beautifully and she was there to help set up and breakdown after the event. In my opinion Tracy should be charging more for her services but she continues to want to give people the best price and she enjoys doing it! Best florist ever!! Read contract before finalizing with any contract! Also give contract to someone to read over who is experienced with wedding events. She gave us a warm welcome and we felt very comfortable with her. We also heard good things about her product from my sister who had been to a wedding where budding events was at. She was priced so well compared to others. Needless to say we fell in love right away with budding events. However as time went on it became clear that she did not like communicating with our coordinator and was delaying phone calls and emails to her. When it came close to our wedding she refused to meet with our coordinator and go over our wedding flowers and event. Otherwise it would have been an extra charge. For our wedding we did not receive our peonies and instead only got roses. The flowers also were supposed to be blush color and they were a darker pink. Mind you we knew there would be some roses but not all because we paid for peonies. Not to mention my wife sent her a specific ribbon that she wanted carefully wrapped around the bouquets and they were just thrown on. My wife sent her plenty of examples to show her but that did not matter. All in all it's not that Tracy's work wasn't nice or beautiful, it's just that it wasn't what we thought we were paying for.
