My husband and I went to Budd's Broiler for the first time on a Tuesday evening, end of November 2017. The staff was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. After noticing the early bird menu had a butternut squash bisque, we decided to order from that menu. The bisque was a thin soup with flavors of possibly cumin and nutmeg or allspice, but it definitely not did not taste like a butternut squash soup. The rest of the our meal tasted better than the soup but not by much. My steak was only slightly warm and the baked potato was dry with a tough skin. The final disappointment came when we noticed an odor around our table which smelled like someone warmed leftover fish in the microwave. Although the atmosphere was pleasant, and the wait staff were wonderful, our overall experience was poor. read more

We were excited to try this out after some positive comments from others. Went with a group and Service was a slow for a restaurant that wasn't full. Ordered the calamari and wasn't sure if there was calamari in it for all the breading plus overcooked. Tasted more like short french fries. Ordered the 6 oz sirloin medium rare but due to time it took to get it, didn't want to complain about the medium I was served as well as what showed up was closer to 3oz. Think deck of cards for you dieters. For the price point, it should've been closer to what u think you're paying for. read more

This is my favorite steak house in tri-cities. My wife and I went to dinner on 12-26-15 ( the day after Christmas). Our waiter was awesome. He was very helpful with the menu and made the overall experience enjoyable. I ordered the rib eye steak which came with a little bit of mashed potatoes and I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese. I also had two modelo beers. My wife ordered the Portobello mushroom dinner which came with mixed vegetables. As we sat and waited for our meal we enjoyed the bread they bring to the table with a really good butter. Our food came out in a perfect amount of time. I was able to enjoy a beer and have a nice conversation with my wife. All of our food was amazing and my rib eye was one of the best I have ever had. It was so good we ordered the blackberry cobbler for dessert (which is the one our waiter recommended) it was fabulous. Our meal all together with drinks was only $102.00. We had such a good time we decided to go back a week later on New Year's Eve. When we called to make reservations the lady said we could make reservations until 1030 pm. We made one for 10 pm. When we were seated our waitress was rude and said the kitchen closed at 1030 so we needed to hurry and order. We were a little annoyed at the waitress. She wasn't as good as our last waiter. Maybe she thought she was getting off earlier until we sat down. Maybe she was having a bad night. Our food was still very good and we will definitely be back soon. read more

My wife and I came into budds last night, it has been a couple months since we were last in. The food was amazing. Wife ordered a mid rare flank steak that was cooked perfect. I ordered a mid rare NY steak that was also cooked perfect. I highly recommend budds broiler, great food and great service every time. read more

I didn't realize this place had been open for a couple of months or it would have gotten 5 stars. Happy hour was great, had a beer and wife had a glass of wine. Ordered Shaking Beef and a Prime Rib dip for apps....all is well. The rest of our group showed up and we were taken to the Northwest corner of the dining room because we had 14 people(they originally had said they couldn't accommodate but we added a couple of booths next to the 10 top). What bothers me is they have a banquet room that could have sat our entire group....that being said we ordered dinner. Wife and I split a ceaser salad(skimpy), mashed potatoes(little flavor) and a porterhouse(medium for the wife, it came out perfect)! That porterhouse gave me something to think about, because I dislike every other BBQ/Steakhouse in town. It melted in my mouth, and left enough for me to bring into work. The servers did what they could with what they had. Food took a while, but in that large of a group it is to be expected. The worst part of my evening was their "Moscow Mule." It was served in the proper cup, it just didn't taste like a Moscow mule to me, and I have had plenty as well as make my own at home. If the rest of their steaks taste as good as my porterhouse I may be a fan of this steakhouse, making it a "unicorn" for steak places in the tri cities for me. I am cutting it right now like butter with a plastic knife at work as leftovers. read more

We came here as a large group, last minute, during a boys' baseball tournament. Bryce, the manager that evening, and his staff were BEYOND accommodating and helpful! We weren't the easiest group with 8-10 adults and 13 boys and a baby, but they were so organized, kind and found the perfect space for all of us to sit in the same area. He even said we could come back the next night and he would reserve that space again. They waitstaff was really efficient and no mistakes were made to ANY of the billing (all families paid separately), and all of the orders (not to mention the drinks) were spot on. Unfortunately this is only my fourth time here and will be my last. It has been decreasing in quality and service over the past couple of times I've been here. This evening was the most terrible service I've received. We came here for my mother's birthday. The waiter was "fast" and in a hurry. He took our orders, cut my mother off while she wanted something held from her dish. I had to let him he cut her off and to let her finish. He tried to play it off and joke that he "wasn't going anywhere" she was the last to order. My grandmother ordered the 4 course early bird dinner. Included a starter, soup or salad, entree and choice of dessert. He brought the right starter but soup when she ordered salad. She found a hair in her starter app and when I flagged him down that she found a hair in her app and he took her soup away. The wrong appetizer! He came back and offered to upgrade her dessert*eye roll*My mom got her entree and tried to compliment him on getting it correct and that it was good and he completely ignored her. My shrimp was chewy and over cooked, my grandmothers entree was over cooked to the point she couldn't cut it. I am disappointed and it is really unfortunate that the Tri Cities area can't have a nicer steakhouse where quality and service matter. read more

It was Ladies Night Out, and we four were favorable impressed. The food was good, perhaps a tad overpriced, but with our coupon it was perfect! My steak was a tad over cooked, but still edible. (I prefer blue rare, this was more medium). We were first seated in a booth, but was uncomfortable for one of our group, and were immediately seated at a table. The staff was gracious, friendly, and thought 'Johnny on the spot' we never felt rushed. The only drawback to the evening was the horrid, tinny, progressive jazz that intruded everywhere. If they MUST pipe in music, we all suggest light piano, and not loud. But music is not necessary, it's nice to be able to talk to dinner companions without feeling like you have to yell. We did ask them to turn it down, and a while later, we noticed it was off. ;-) For those special dinners, give it a try. read more

Visited this restaurant early on a Friday evening. Have to say that the food and the service were impeccable! Husband had the Cobb Salad with prawns and raved about it while I absolutely loved the Chimichurri Tri Tip. We also split the warm chocolate cake with ice cream....pure bliss! The only down side to the experience was that they seated us next to a party of ten (adults couldn't handle the alcohol, kids were loud and went unchecked by said adults....) so it was very hard to have any sort of conversation. The restaurant was not overly busy by any means, so seating us elsewhere would have been a great option. Other than the seating, the experience was lovely and we will likely return and ask for a quiet table! read more

Great happy hour that runs until 7:00 PM! If you're looking to get some good food and don't want to pay dinner prices make sure you hit their bar before HH is over. You won't be able to order a steak but their burger is one of the best in the Tri-Cities (definitely add the bacon and cheese) and all of their appetizers are delicious. I've been there are couple of times for a regular dinner; the food is great and both times the steak was cooked perfectly. Just make sure you're prepared to pay a premium. We were there for high school State Volleyball tournament, met up with a bunch of friends at this lively restaurant. Great atmosphere, fun place, love the layout, basically everything was fantastic! Great selection on the menu, delicious food & excellent service. The seared wild salmon & calamari strips was well seasoned, so delicious. Had the thick cut pork chop, BEST pork chop I've ever eaten, it was so tender & juicy it basically melted in my mouth. The live band was an added treat! read more

There are not many classy and truly delicious places to eat in the Tricities, but this is one of them. My husband and I went here on a date night and it was absolutely fantastic. The decor and ambiance is very nice. The service was perfect. We ordered the Tomahawk ribeye to split, which is 64 ounces of bone in, juicy, flavorful succulence. We also ordered the Mac and Cheese and Brussels sprouts sides which were both good, especially the Mac and Cheese - I think we gained 5 pounds each that night but it was worth it! To finish it off we split the peach slump for dessert which was also very good. This place is pricey, for sure. Think Ruth Chris steakhouse style and price, but it's a great experience. Anthonys made a very wise decision to convert their old banquet location into this restaurant. We'll be back! read more

We went to Budd's on Friday Oct. 14th to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary (I wrote a review on another site before I found this one so you may get this twice). We have seen your advertisement for a long time on TV and swore that one day we would experience one of those big, thick, juicy rib-eyes. Hasn't happened yet. We went in early Friday, (about 4:30 or so) - we could have had the Early Bird special, but we wanted this to be "OUR" night & we'd always dreamed of the BIG, BIG, RIB-EYE - so that's what we ordered the 14 oz rib-eye (to share), ordered an extra baked potato, had Calamari for appetizer and Burnt Creme for desert. All was very good except for the main entree - We did not get our 14 oz. rib-eye Our meal came and steak was cut into 4 small pieces, 2 for my wife & 2 for me - looked pretty strange, but we didn't say anything because we wanted this evening to be perfect. We were seated by the window, good view of the river, and people on the walkway - Thought we'd remember it forever - and we will, but for all the wrong reasons. We had Calamari for an appetizer (good), bread (good), Burnt Creme desert (good), but the main entree was completely fouled up. We did not get what we ordered - this all could have been had on the early bird special for $21 - while we spent well over $100. As I said, when our steak came it was cut into 4 small pieces, 2 for my wife and 2 for me - ordered an extra potato, asked for potatoes loaded (extra charge of 2$ or 2.50$ - we didn't get it). We got a very small plastic cup of sour creme & a few chives on it. We certainly didn't get the medium rare (not even a sign of pink in it) rib-eye we ordered, I know approximately the size of a 14 oz. steak, we got maybe 7 or 8 oz. - then while I was sitting there chewing on some gristle in my steak, I heard one of your employees explaining behind me that this was some kind of Kobe beef!! - I know 14 oz., I know Kobe beef, I know rib-eye steak and I know med. rare - we got none of these. I guess if I want a big, juicy, rib-eye I'll have to get one at Safeway & cook it myself - I certainly didn't get one at Budd's - not even close Someone there, cook, waitress, or someone should have KNOWN by site, that they weren't sending out a rib-eye, that was un acceptable. The waitress did take off the charge for the "loaded" potatoes - but can't order a salad unless you order separately (I think this is hard on your business - makes people think you're money hungry - $44 for a steak & not a salad with it??) Budd's has a long way to go before they will be a really outstanding place to dine. read more

Went in on a Sunday afternoon to hang out with the girls and unwind. We were ready to put in our happy hours orders, but Amanda came over and let us know about the Sunday night Surf and Turf. Worked out better for us to get meals rather than a table full of appetizers. I have had the opportunity to be served by Amanda in the lounge on a few occasions and I love her smile, charisma and the feeling that she enjoys and has fun doing what she is doing. Very much a people person as I am. Thus far I cannot say anything bad about the food, the atmosphere and the individuals that you have working at your establishment. I will continue to be a frequent patron and look forward to going back. read more

I am a fan. I really appreciate that they locally source the meat and vegies. I just cant' afford to go there. The food and service were fantastic but the prices were astronomical!!! $90 for Prime Rib? $55 for a Porterhouse? I think that is a little over the top. Especially when you have to purchase all the extras, potatoes, vegies, salads, soups.... Yes the service was very good, I would say better than anywhere else in the TriCities. I don't think they will be in business very long with out lowering their prices. Yelp needs to add another $, 4 is not enough. read more

We stumbled on this place by accident. The smell in the parking lot of the hotel was divine. I followed the scent and found Budd's Broiler. Richland happened to be just a stop on the way home. This place will make us change Richland to a planned stop. For the first time in my husband's life, he's no spring chicken, he got a perfect steak grilled to perfection just the way he asked for it. EXACT! The waitress even stayed and had us check the steak before leaving the table. My fillet mignon was so tender and flavorful. The French Onion soup was amazing too. Our waitress was on the ball, and anticipated our needs before we even knew what we needed. The bread is so yummy. The Huckleberry Martini was delicious, and my husband loved their beer. My only wish was that I had more room to try more! Thanks for a great evening with one of the best meals with excellent service. I am thinking of reasons to go back. read more

Steak was cooked to med rare perfection, Wagyu on the early menus. Very tasty piece of meat, served with mashed potatoes/fried onion straws. Appetitzers, salad, bread were all very good. Service was also tops. Now the reason for one star and the fact we would not return any time in the near future. We arrived at 4:00 for the early special dinner and left at 6:00. No wine or cocktails or coffee, just ordered dinner with waters. Something occurred, in the kitchen, that was because of a neighboring tables displeasure over their steak? They sent them back. This is the closest we came to an explanation for the looooong wait on our steaks. The waiter returned often to our table to apologize. He also went to the kitchen manager and complained. Did the manager or any other manager come by our table ?? NO! They walked around a lot smiling and avoided eye contact with either of us. We felt sorry for the server as he had been put in a very awkward position. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. They are pretty pricey for the steaks offered and ala crate for the sides puts it over the top. Looking for an excellent steak, try Hamleys in Pendelton. read more

First, the really good. Their happy hour in the bar is great. It runs until 7pm on weekdays and has a pretty good variety of drinks and wine and some very good $7 appetizers. Unfortunately, the really good experience did not translate to the dining room. The steaks are very high priced and any sides are extra. Paying $5 extra for a baked potato is a little extreme. For those prices I expect excellent service and a chef that can put out a steak exactly as ordered. That's not at all what we got. The service was extremely slow. We ordered steak medium rare and when it finally came out it was medium well at the very least, if not well done. We didn't want to send it back and start over because it had already taken so long. The quality of the meat was good, just over cooked. They do have an early bird special that is a whole lot of food for $26...a good deal in my opinion, but the entree choice is pretty limited. It ends at 6pm. I had the sturgeon, which was very good. Overall, it was just an OK meal and pretty pricey for that. Hope things improve or I predict another failed restaurant in this location. read more

This restaurant disappoints on so many levels. First, Janet, the server, had no clue about wine. She barely knew the difference between a merlot and cabernet. Second, the server did not know what cut of meat the appetizer, Shaking Beef was. She looked at the menu - perplexed. She thought the cuts were all the same. Not. She checked and came back and stated "tenderloin." Again, Not. It was sirloin. I left almost the entire order of the beef because it was chewy and rough. As to the spinach salad, it was an excuse. Basically, poured from a bag, stems and all. I counted 3 raspberries, 2 pieces of cheese, a couple of pieces of what I think were peaches and then just a mass of the stemmed huge chunks of spinach, stems attached. Very chintzy. Here is the deal, this is like Buds, the Sirloin restaurant. Pretty terrible right now. I would strongly suggest you ramp it up. Here are some suggestions for you - 1) train your wait staff - they should know the difference between a cab, blend, merlot and pinot. 2) your staff should know the different cuts of beef. No, Snake River is not the same as a Rib eye. 3) make your salads more interesting - ramp up the ingredients. If you want to be cutting edge and a place where people will return, dont make the restaurant so unsophisticated. People will not return at your prices. If you keep it the same, you might as well try to attract the crowd that likes "blooming onions, deep fat fried." On a positive note, the bread and butter were divine. Keep those up - that was the only good thing about this meal. read more

Although I've loved my couple of visits to Budds...it was for the good happy hour drink prices and the service has always been very friendly....So I took My 88 year old mother there for her Birthday because she loves steak and I was curious about the food. She was not impressed with the prime rib although it was cooked to order. Mine and my boyfriends $50 a steak Rib Eye's were not only over seasoned, they were tough and gristley. The server and manager were very gracious and replaced mine with a filet mignon that was par compared to other places for $20 less. My boyfriend declined because he was hungry and is embarrassed when having to say anything. He would rather just never go back. Unfortunately that's why many Restaurants do not make it in Richland....Most people don't say anything they just spread the word. 10 people tell 10 people and it just keeps doubling until you are out of business. I read a few of other people's remarks and apparently things aren't changing. The quality of meat is definitely subpar which cannot be blamed on the cook but the mashed potatoes taste like they came from a box...also..the broccoli was undercooked. I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years and I think someone with knowledge needs to get in there and find a good butcher. I will probably still go there but, only for the ambiance and a glass of wine. The music has always been really good! read more

My wife and I went there and had some of the worst service I have ever experienced from our waitress. Being the manager of a multi million dollar company I understand how important customer service is to the longevity of a company. We had a waitress who, in my opinion looked at us as invisible. There was two times during our dinner I had to go to the bar to get a drink because our waitress was either too busy or completely inept to help my wife and I be served. I proceeded to go to the bar for the remainder of the night and the bar tender was amazing and delivered our two drinks in under a minute which we had been waiting for for more than 20 minutes from our waitress. I took this as a miscommunication between me and the waitress but when I ordered another drink and another 20 minutes went by, I had to again go up to the excellent bartender and have him take care of me. With as much as I love the food at Bud's I do no believe my wife and I will again be back and will, from now on, give our business to LuLu's who has always treated my wife and I both with respect. read more
