I've only stopped here a couple of times while waiting for a pizza from next door. But, I'd say the place is looking a little runs down. The service was timely, but the staff didn't know the cost of drinks or the liquor they used. Cocktails come in a plastic cup too, probably cheaper and less breakage. The pizza was eaten. Old Mill has made good pizza, but it was only just okay today. They use processed crumbled sausage and it just does not taste the same as normal sausage. You have to ask for the better sausage. The all meat pizza is normally a little greasy. This one was very greasy. Tried the bbq chicken pizza. That in my opinion was excellent. Very tasty with a good amount of cheese. The server was busy but kept our group pitcher filled. Good job. Only issue was one pizza ordered was to have two items on it only had sausage. The bacon was not on it. Overall the place was acceptable and our group of 12 + ( some left and others came ) was satisfied with the location. Crazy thing is we had to ask them to put on the Stanley cup game So a little disappointing overall, but more or less met my expectations. read more

During my last visit on St. Patrick's day, I understood the place was Packed, we ask for pizza and wings and a couple of beers, we got the beers and the pizza, wings never came, I asked for my bill and the wings were there, so I told her, she removed them, so I though, never got the wings , next thing I know the charge for the pizza and beers came out from my credit card, next thing I know about 3 am, they put it for what I would guess was the wings and more. Call them 3 times but the manager never got back to me, while seating on the bar we did hear about someone having their card ran twice in the past, well, they got me this time. Shame on the business. This bar has a dog-friendly patio. It's listed as one of the top places in CP on the "Bring Fido" website, so I went in to check it out late last Sunday afternoon. I brought my shepherd-collie Zeke and we sat outside against the window. There were no local televised games and the crowd was quiet. My server was very helpful to me. She let me taste two beers I had never tried before and I ended up ordering one of them, a Strawberry wheat beer brewed by Platform brewing out of Cleveland, OH. The other craft beer I had was a Gumballhead brewed by 3Floyds out of Munster, IN. I've had plenty of times while visiting the Region. I enjoyed the beers and the service was good, but I noticed in the hour I was there that more people were coming in to drink. There was one server for the 20 people inside and the ten people outside. That slowed down service for those wanting refills, as the table near me complained about waiting on refills for their water. I told them this was a management issue and not a server issue because the server was hustling. Hope they have more servers on game nights! This is a big place with a large, covered patio that I'm sure deals with a lot of obnoxious Chicago Bears fans. Parking lot is also big and easy to get in and out of. While visiting the area we decided to try this place. Walking in the place was extremely clean and welcoming , there are TVs all around, pool table and dart board . Service was great and food and drinks very reasonably priced. A nice neighborhood feel to the place. read more

We had our 40th class reunion at Buddy & Pal's this past weekend. The bartender for the "party" bar was very friendly and even though she was busy, she was fine with going to get a draft beer from the main bar if asked. (only thing on tap in party bar was Miller). Three stars is due to the fact that on Saturday nights they have a live band and the noise from the band was so loud you could barely hear people talk. Maybe it was poor planning on our part to have the party on a Saturday night, but maybe management should consider moving the stage to another part of the bar if there is a party in the "private" room. I didn't get to hang out in the actual bar very much and hope to come back and update my review after experiencing the main bar and not just the party room. read more

I almost never do reviews on places but my experience here was so bad I just felt the need to warn anybody else who evens considers this place. The only reason you should even pull into this parking lot is if you're over 50 and love shitty food. THIS PLACE IS NOT MEANT FOR PEOPLE IN THEIR 20's!! It's an old sports bar with atrocious live music meant for 25 year high school reunions. Not to mention the service is awful and you'll see your waitress maybe twice the entire night. Once when you order your food and then another time when they bring it out cold. The drinks were almost as weak as the live performance and I couldn't wait to get my ass tf out of there. Hey maybe this place is amazing to people born during WWII but if you know any other bars at all in the Crown Point area I highly suggest you go there instead. read more

You know when you go somewhere and there's like barely enough cheese for half your fries? No worries here, this place has it all figured out. Labels next door makes their food, and everything our party of four got was above par, just enough of everything to make it delicious and awesome. The rum and Coke was great too. Yelp, this place needs help. There was excessive grease on both menus, and you could fry a chicken with the grease on the table. The steak nachos were lame and the steak on top was marbles of dry hamburger. The waitstaff doesn't lnow the menu and had a difficult time making change for a large bill. Been here a ton of times over the years; never really had any issues. Last night had a group of about 30 patronizing the place after the loss of a loved one. THE worst service I've ever experienced in a bar. Wait staff was non-existent. It was apparently senior night and maybe we got the cold shoulder for occupying tables normally used by the regulars. Had another table across from the bar next to the waitress station. Sat there for 3 hours and not once did a waitress assist us. Had to open up a tab with the bartender and get drinks from there the entire night. Had to go to the restaurant window to order our own food. Langel's (the restaurant side) always has good food and pizza so there's no issue there but this was truly pathetic service. If Chad still manages this joint he needs to get it together. We were a large party of 15 and we were almost completely ignored by a group of waitresses on their phones and sitting with a table of men talking. This place used to be great, seems to have been managed right into the ground. Serving staff is horrible. I used to understand the bartenders there were not always the best at making drinks, but they were there as eye candy and at least friendly. The ones now have neither of those going for them. The only thing worse is there security staff who want to prove how tough they are. No wonder the Winfield one had to be sold and the schererville one is up for sale read more
