Not much room on the "back side" of the bar. Booths are hard on your cheeks. Tables are better for a group. Here's the fat: If you're looking for a Martini or something, look elsewhere. Here it's beer, and simply mixed drinks as fast as they can pour 'em. This is another one of those NWI no frills just bottle and draft beer places. If you want a particular mixed drink - bring the recipe... they'll make it for you. If you don't smoke and have an aversion... stay away. Being a smaller bar and in Indiana the smoke pours forth from people like a *Pyroclastic Flow. The ventilation system has absolutely ZERO chance of keeping up. One side of the bar is less that 3 feet from the East wall... not many people pass through there but, when they do it's an awkward invasion of your "personal bubble". That said... it's a bar so personal space doesn't really mean much, especially after people have a few drinks. The booths here are particularly hard, I suggest sitting down gently unless you've got plenty of cushioning back there. Another thing about the booths, you're likely to find all kinds of change in the seats... change, cigarette butts and a coupon for Pizza Hut. Best bet for a group, tables. They can be put together for larger groups and there's no faux padding on the chairs to make you think they're soft. But if you are walking in solo and not from the area, this isn't the place for you. I tried to ask the bartenders name, something I do so when I go back etc and maybe to have a conversation, they were more interested in getting back to the regulars and chat. I did get it, but it was just a weird exchange. All in all, service was just fine, I got my cold beers timely as I had a few before moshing to another spot, but if I want to sit and drink alone I can do that at the hotel. If you are with a friend go in and party on! I'm really only dinging because the name is misleading. Basically "IF" this so called person with the same name as my husband bounced these checks, they couldn't find him, so they just pulled the next one out of a hat (he has a very popular name). Their lawyer claims they are taking it off after the embarrassment in front of my contractor and anger it put us through.

We have heard a lot of great things about Greg's Place by the P.D. and court house. So, as we drove by, we decided to stop and check it out. We were greeted warmly by the bartender. We said we came in for dinner. He directed us to the restaurant. Was still a little early, so we were the first ones there. Tiffany, an awesome lady, was our hostess. We ordered tacos. chicken sandwich. And a rueben. Everything was sooo good, and the portions were great. Speaking with Tiffany she gave us a rundown on the Town, the events at Greg's Place. Bands, karaoke and DJs that play on the weekends. On Thutsday they have Bingo. Overall, this is an extremely nice neighborhood place to hang out. We will be back, especially for the bands and dancing! Greg's Place is a must visit if passing through Schererville or if you haven't yet as a resident. Highly recommended by our family.
