A single bolt supports the HVAC box inside the cab, and it was not installed.
    Gary M.

I relied on Buddy's for many years, often for some oddball Jeep needs and was very pleased, commending them to a number of my coworkers. But a few years back they changed hands, and with that the personal, reliable touch seemed to wane. My last job was a Jeep Wrangler heater core replacement, which is a tedious, labor-intensive job of removing dash, steering wheel, and a zillion connections to remove the HVAC box and get at the $35 heater core. I was in the middle of moving and didn't want to tackle it, so gave it to Buddy's. Mistake. Upon picking it up, I found that the vacuum lines were not attached so the defrost/panel/floor settings did nothing, which prompted a return trip and fix. Then I found they left the 12 VDC connections for my auxiliary lighting off--finding them squished behind the battery. Fixed that myself. Moved north, and for the next year I found myself finding other connections loose, and a serious electrical issue prompted by a ground that was improperly secured. But the kicker was when I had to replace the core again. This time I did it myself, and once the dash was out I found evidence of seriously slap-dash work: the defroster tube wasn't even bolted down on the two mounting studs and worse, the single interior bolt for the HVAC box--which snugs the box against the various outlets to prevent air leakage--was completely missing. And they had overtightened one of the firewall mounting bolts, which stripped the stud set in the HVAC box. In all fairness, they seemed good folks; always friendly, the prices consistent with the market, and willing to work with some non-standard parts and accessories. But this seems the culmination of a downhill slide, and I'd be cautious giving them any kind of complex job.

Pure luck brought me to Buddy's Auto, but great service will keep me as a customer! This is an A+ repair and maintenance shop where I found honesty and integrity when I needed fairly-priced, professional repair service on my treasured collectable car. Steve and the others at Buddy's treated me like a long-time customer on my very first visit to their shop. They not only repaired another shop's errors, but bent over backwards to make it affordable for me during this stressful time. I recommend Buddy's wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a shop with knowledgeable technicians and a friendly front office!

And when I called asking for Randy, Brian already knew about my car because Randy took the time to tell him all he needed to know.

When following up about the rental reimbursement the shop had already agreed to provide, I had to call three separate times just to get movement on the check being issued. During one of those calls, the first question I was asked was whether I planned to take down my previous 1-star Google review. I was told the reimbursement was not dependent on that, but it was concerning that the question was asked at all. After those three attempts, I was finally told I could come in to pick up the check. As soon as I arrived, the manager asked another employee to sit at the front counter as a witness while we spoke. I asked if he could contact the owner or let me know when the owner would be available so I could finally speak with him after weeks of not receiving a call back. The manager refused, saying both he and the owner were busy. While we were speaking, the manager took a phone call from another customer and asked me to step away from the counter, stating it was for "customer privacy." Since I was already being assisted and trying to resolve my own issue, I declined to step away from the counter. After the manager ended the customer's phone call, he and the employee stepped away to the back of the shop while their computers remained unlocked at the front counter, leaving me alone in the lobby. This seemed inconsistent with the concerns about privacy and safety that were mentioned. The manager continued going back and forth between the front desk and the back area. He eventually returned and asked me to leave. When I said I would wait until he and the owner were not busy, he called the police and had me verbally trespassed from the property. I am sharing this experience for transparency. This entire situation could have been avoided with basic communication. I made multiple attempts over several weeks to speak with the owner and resolve the issue directly but instead was ignored and ultimately removed from the property for asking to speak with him. INITIAL REVIEW: Went in as a referral from Firestone. Firestone indicated I had transmission sensor issues and referred me to this AAMCO. Manager Hector informed me the issues with my car was from the transmission and I needed a replacement. After replacing, Hector informed me there was an issue with an outside sensor feeding power to the transmission. Hector indicated Guillermo and Jeff worked on my car. They were unable to provide me with proper documentation indicating how they ruled out this computer sensor issue prior to replacing the entire transmission. Hector refused to connect me with store owner, Mike Andrews. I have emailed Mike multiple times with no response or call back. When speaking with Hector via phone, he told me I should bring my husband down so they can explain it to him. As a single woman that is VERY insulting to imply I cannot comprehend the information I am being told. Hector also failed to Inform me the shop only reimburses up to $200 for a rental car, stating it is listed on their website. I was physically in the shop 2/13 and Hector referred me to enterprise without verbally informing me of the reimbursement limit. When I requested reimbursement he continued to state it is advertised on the website but refused to address my concerns that we were speaking in person and he failed to include that detail. While assisting me on 2/18, Hector took three phone calls and assisted another customer while I was at the counter. This shop takes advantage of their paying customers and refuses to take accountability when they messed up.

Caution. Paid a lot for rebuilt transmission. On trip across desert had a problem took it back to…read moreaamco. They couldnt figure it out. Took it to a dealer and they said engine mounts needed replacing and should have been done with tranny replacement. Aamco wont stand behind that needed fix.
