I sold a car to Harry here. We made an agreement to price and time to drop off the car. He was 30 minutes late and we discovered a paperwork issue but did not change the price. When I'd done what he asked, I came back to our next appointment, but he'd forgotten and wasn't there. I came back the next day and was told that he wouldn't pay me the agreed upon price because of the paperwork issues. I bargained back some of it, but in the end was shorted $800 vs our original agreement. I signed on the dotted line, but I wish that I had walked out. We received a call from Harry, Buddy's Auto Sales, which was our 3rd dealer call to our "for sale by owner" truck ad. Skeptical, as the first two, one from Roseburg one from Portland, were a shock with promises to show up "today" and buy it for more or pretty close to asking price. Within a couple hours of the first phone call they both shagged and told me I was asking to much and didn't even make reasonable offers to come to an agreement. Harry stuck with me and my skepticism and we reached a over the phone agreement to be concluded the next day as we were from CB and heading to Portland area. We arrived at Buddy's Auto Sales and came to a new settlement on price after eyes on evaluation by Harry, which of course there always is on such things and the paperwork and money was in my account that very day (we both bank at US Bank so that made it easy with just a company check instead of a cashiers check). I told you I was helping my father shop for a motor home. I asked you about the Winnebago you were selling. You said you took it on a trade from an elderly couple who took really good care of it and kept under cover when not using it. You also told me there was nothing wrong with it. I asked you if the price was negotiable to which you replied "No its already priced below what another would pay" I agreed that the price was below others on the market. I told you my father was interested and that I would recommend he purchase the vehicle based on what you told me about the motor home. During the negotiation some red flags began to appear * You led me to believe you took this vehicle in trade from the original owner. The Car Fax report showed six (6) previous title changes. * After you and my father agreed on a price we came to your location to finish the deal and pick up the motor home. You told me you had to replace the house batteries and that the chassis battery was low. In-fact the chassis battery had a dead short and had to be replaced. You said the motor home had to be plugged into shore power to use the onboard generator. That was not true and showed your lack of knowledge on how RVs operate You said the motor home had to be plugged in to shore power in order for the automatic step to function. That wasn't true because it works of the chassis battery which was bad. The R/F tire was badly worn on the outside edge after inspection we were informed the struts were bad and needed to be replaced along with the front tires. The sewer drain hose for the motor home is missing. The DMV was a nightmare because my father lives in Washington you were given an estimate of fees to get the motor home licensed in Washington. The estimate was off by $5.40 the DMV called you to pay that amount and you said no. You wouldn't pay $5.40 on a $51,000.00 sale and we still don't have license plates one month after the sale. You asked me to give you a positive review but unfortunately I cant do that. I also cant recommend you to my friends and family. I feel bad because I recommended my father purchase this motor home despite all these red flags costing more than $2500.00 dollars. read more

I've never felt compelled to leave a review before. But I could not, in good conscious leave this alone. I found a travel trailer I wished to purchase from this dealer. I called them up and asked for their lowest price. The salesman Rex, asked me to make an offer. I did approximately $1500 off the asking price. Rex became angry and stated the lowest price was $500. Okay, whatever. When the trailer was still there a month later, I emailed the dealer through RV trader. I offered the same price and eventually came to an agreement with Harry (Manager) for $1,000 less than the asking price. Harry had Rex write up a purchase order and send it to my financer. Flash forward a couple days, I have arranged to pick up the travel trailer the very next day and I have a check in hand. The dealer is aware and I have kept them updated. I get a call from Harry stating something to the effect of "I just had three guys come into my office and offer me $500 more than what you and I have agreed to. I don't want to sound like I'm...." I interrupted Harry and told him "that is exactly what it sounds like." I told Harry we had agreed on a price and it was known I was coming the next day. Harry answered "you are really going to miss out on this trailer over $500." I told Harry I would not pay any more than we agreed, Harry started back peddling making erroneous statements like "Well I'm a man of my word, so I'll sell the trailer to you." Harry continued, "I just want you to get your trailer and leave us a good review." I picked up the trailer the next day and it went about as well as you could expect. Rex was actually much nicer in person than he was on the phone. We sorted the paperwork and they tried to get me to improperly sign a WA DOL form, I did not and I signed it correctly. I left with the trailer after paying for it and the registration fees. Part of the agreement was that Buddy's RV would be registering and titling the trailer in my name. Flash forward 3 weeks, I've been calling the DOL and they haven't received any paperwork regarding the title. Eventually my bank calls me reporting the dealer had mailed them the title and a check. They were confused but I was not surprised. I was also told the trailer was in perfect shape. I took the roof for inspection and I was told it was near failure. I've spent 20+ hours redoing the roof to prevent further damage. All in all, please do not do business with this dealer. There are plenty of others that aren't as sketchy as these folks. If you read the reviews the majority of them are from people who sold vehicles to the dealer. Check these guys out on Yelp and other sights, they are rated quite poorly. read more

Wow. OK. Here we go with these clowns. I'm on Craigslist looking in the BY OWNER section of cars for sale. I see this 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that's high on miles but looks good. I call the number and talk to Joey, who sounds a little dim but I'm not one to judge and if he has a decent car, well he has a decent car. He says I can meet him in Clackamas at the Rite Aid to test drive the thing. I come over there and meet with Joey and his cousin, who's eerily silent in the back seat while I drive the car around. We make small talk and although I now can confirm the low light in the brain, I like the car. "Clean title?", I ask. "Yep." says Joey confidently. "Where'd you get the car?" I ask jovially. "It was a trade in. I'm an RV dealer." "Oh, really? Is it your lot?" "Yep." OK. Still plausible. "It was a trade in on an RV", Joey says. "Any accidents or damage?", I ask gently. "Nope." So I say give me a day to think on it, I look at other ones that look interesting, and come back around to Joey's gem. I call him up. He doesn't remember who the fuck I am. At all. He thinks I'm some other call on some other car, because he posts these vehicles on the for sale BY OWNER ONLY section, and can't keep his listings straight. I reiterate that I was the one who came and drove the thing and I'm interested but won't pay his asking. I'll pay what I can offer. He says no. I say, call me when you're ready. He calls me back a day later and says if you come today to this address I'll sell the car to you for your price. I say, OK I'll be there. Come to find out I've arrived at Tony's Auto Sales on 82nd Ave. I buy the car, but the "title" won't be ready for a week or more. "When will it be ready?" I ask. "Next Wednesday". Long story short: They lied, then they lied again. After I get over there to get the title from them, it states very clearly on the Oregon Title that there is previous damage to the car from Washington state. NOT a clear title. Not only that, when I called DMV to see if these circus rodeo clowns had turned in their part of the deal, of course they hadn't, and when I gave DMV the license number they pulled up a completely different vehicle in their database. These assholes put different plates on it. SUMMARY: 1. Shady ass dealership on 82nd posts cars to the OWNERS ONLY section 2. Joey comes and lets you test drive it with his cousin to make it look like a personal transaction 3. They put off giving you the title so that you won't know the title is blighted 4. The assholes put different plates on the car and it's up to you to figure it out CONCLUSION: I'm amazed these clowns aren't in jail. Hell, they probably are in jail half the time. Angie L was right. Sometimes a business deserves a second chance. I did read the reviews here and elsewhere and was very nervous about selling them my 2011 Jeep Wrangler. It was a bit unnerving to see that even a news report had been done. However, having read the court documents and discounting emotion I decided to give them a chance. I was not disappointed. The buyer drove out to Bend and purchased my vehicle. Within a couple of days the car was paid off at the lender. They were very communicative throughout the process. They had admitted to some mistakes in the past and were seeking to make up for those. I was not disappointed at all in their process. The only thing that I would recommend is that you relax and be upfront and honest about the past and just allow people to make their own judgements. Time will forgive. read more

In Oregon a dealer is entitled to sell a vehicle "as is", but fortunately the consumer protection laws prohibit the dealer from not disclosing any known problems. I currently have filed a complaint with the attorney general office against Buddy's Auto Sales and the owner for not disclosing known problems with an expensive motor home I purchased. It is also against consumer protection agency to put pressure to sign paperwork for a purchase, which I will address later if necessary. Currently I am hoping that Harry (the owner) will respond appropriately to the consumer protection violations and make it right. There were several undisclosed problems with the motor home that Buddy's Auto Sales and the owner knew and did not disclose. First they knew the generator wasn't working properly and they told me it has been serviced. It didn't work the day we drove the motor home off the lot. Second, there is a leak that was hidden. The entire driver's floor board was soaking wet and discovered when we removed the floor liners to clean the vehicle. I asked at Buddy's if they knew of any leaks and was assured no this vehicle had no leaks. Third, I questioned if the tires were the original 2014 tires and felt they should be replaced. Harry told me they are in great condition and no need to replace. After driving the motor home to the DMV where I live, over 1,000 miles we took to a reputable tire company. The tire company representative informed us the tires were from 2012 and were unsafe to have traveled that distance as they were also underinflated. I had been assured by Harry that the tires were in great condition and inflated properly. Fourth, the (pop out) slides squeaked when I tested them at Buddy's and I was told they would service them prior to the motor home leaving the lot. However, they were not repaired and serviced properly and Harry told me they were properly serviced by his techs... Fifth, there were large scratches in the paint, where the prior owner had run the motor home into a gutter. This can't be seen without viewing on a high ladder. Buddy's Auto Sales and Harry knew of this damage and didn't disclose. I will not go into all the other negative and illegal practices of Buddy's Auto Sales at this time. I am hoping that they will rectify these issues to my satisfaction with the help of the attorney general office. If these issues can be resolved with Buddy's refunding some monies to aid in the repairs of these non-disclosed issues, I see no option but to hire an attorney to pursue for the all issues. And appropriately post those as well. read more

He is persistent but polite and fair, professional and organized and persistent. Efficient and punctual and, oh yes, persistent. I bought my 1999 Daewoo Leganza from Stan at Tony's Auto Sales on December 17th 2009 and paid cash. I had nothing but issues with this car since the day after I purchased it. On the day after I purchased it, I was driving it to work and it broke down. Fortinately, my boyfriend at the time was able to get it semi-repaired so we could drive it down to Tonys. Stan, the salesman told us we need to take it through DEQ and if it failed, they might fix the issue. Sure enough the car failed to pass DEQ because the check engine light was on and I was told that it needed a new EGR valve. We then took the car back to Tonys and they had the EGR valve repaired on it. We took it back to DEQ about 2 weeks later when I could get the time off work, and it failed again! We consulted our own mechanic to repair the issue and the muffler was being heald onto the car by fishing net! That was yet another $300 down the drain! But I paid it in faith this would be the last issue I had with it. Boy was I wrong! Another 2 weeks or so later my check engine light came on when I was moving my car from one parking spot to another and smelled this smell that smells like a thousand farts. We took it to a mechanics shop who told us the 02 sensor has no activity coming out of it, the exhuast has a crack in it and the heater core was broken. We took it back to Tonys yet again, was given the run around and was told someone would give us a call. 4 days later, my boyfriend got a call from Mike, I dont know if hes the owner or the manager but he told us the issue is out of his hands because at that time it had been a month since we purchased the car. In the end I was totally screwed and was never able to get the car to pass DEQ then ill be a SOB if the timing belt broke exactly 1 month to the date of me buying the car. I SO regretted doing business with Tony's! After paying $4600 for a car one would think the business would try to do something right? I ended up having to sell the car for $150.00 and I was pretty angry. Otherwise I would of had to pay $2K for a new engine! Oh and another thing. When I paid cash for the car apparantly they never sent in to get my plates, title etc. When we reported this to the DMV, Tony's was forced to refund me the licensing, title and plate fees. I also filed a complaint with the District Attorneys office and Tony's lied up down and said they refunded me my money! This is true, but not the $4600 I was asking for. I believe to this date this "business" has an F rating with the BBB. I should of just had the car towed there broken down and put stickers on it explaining that I bought the car at Tonys and that it was a lemon. Oh well. We live, we learn. read more

I was apprehensive about selling to a Dealer but, turns out, I shouldn't have been. They lived up to their promises and handled the transaction quickly and professionally. I would not hesitate to deal with them again. Good as their word! Then the next day they call and try to shake me down for supposed damage to the passenger side fender. Their representative went over the car and he agreed that it was in excellent condition before he took possession. I wouldn't recommend this place. The salespeople only care about whether or not you make an offer on one of THEIR RVs and not recommending what would work best for you. The salesperson, Billy, was disrespectful to me and my family. There are many other RV places I'd recommend, don't get scammed by these people. Their RVs and trailers have posts that have been online for weeks/months because of their overpriced items and dishonesty, yet they'll tell you it's been available for a couple days and will go fast (wanting you to make an offer right then). Look No Further RV is excellent, I recommend you checkout this dealer. They are honest, don't follow you around, give you good advice, don't pressure you, and are a nice family owned business who care about you, not just about getting your money. read more

Tony's had a great price on a Prius. I drove an hour to get there only to find that as soon as I turned the car on, the power steering light and battery warning light came on. Prius are known to sometimes have battery problems, most of them quite expensive to fix. I wanted the car checked out by a mechanic and as I drove to the mechanic's shop, I noticed the brakes were extremely sensitive. When I barely touched the brake pedal, the car braked hard. The alignment was way off, too. It turns out only the dealership could tell me why the battery warning light was on. It would have cost me $105 just to find out why. Then a pre-purchase inspection would have been another $100 to inspect the car mechanically. I was unwilling to put that much money into a car I wasn't sure I wanted anyway. I drove the car back to Tony's. When I opened the back trunk to see what kind of trunk space the car had, I noticed that the battery cover had been taken off. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that someone at Tony's disconnected the battery hoping that by resetting the battery, the warning light would stay off long enough for me to pay $7000 for the car and then be stuck with the repairs. So I was really unimpressed with the place. I had hoped previous reviewers were wrong. But I would say, be very very careful about buying a car here. Pay $100 to a AAA shop to have them inspect your vehicle before you buy it. I am glad I didn't spend any money on the car, but am irritated I lost 4 hours of my day to a trip to Portland for a car that obviously had some major issues. If you are thinking of making a trip here, call and ask them to turn on the key and tell you what warning lights come on. read more

I'd choose zero stars if that was a possibility. I listed my 2007 Gulf Sream RV for sale on Craigslist saying no brokers or dealers should contact me. A few days ago a guy calls asking to come and see it. He told a very touching story about how he and his brother want to buy an RV for their parents' 50th wedding anniversary; that their old RV was burned up in a garage fire. He asked the lowest I could go and I told him. Then he low-balled me by several thousand saying that's all they can come up with. As I hadn't had much response to my ad and wanted to be done with this whole situation, I agreed since it seemed like such a sweet and loving thing for them to do for their folks. Wonder of wonders, this guy, David, has a friend who works at Buddy's Auto Sales who said he'd be glad to complete the paperwork for us. This place is soooooooo creepy...just what I always pictured a car lot on SE 82nd Avenue to be. The 10+ deer heads adorning the walls really add to the ambience. By that time I was getting leery about the whole deal and wondering what I'd gotten myself into. I took a leap of faith that all would turn out well and was so relieved when I called the finance place yesterday and learned they'd gotten the payoff on my loan. My daughter found the RV listed last evening on Craigslist and on the Buddy's website. She said she maybe got 30 minutes of sleep because she was so upset about my being ripped off. Pretty nasty thing to do to an old widow who thought there were still a few decent people out there in the world. I believe that David works for or with Buddy's trolling the web for people selling their RVs and presenting himself as a regular buyer, not one attached to a dealer. This is so deceitful and disrespectful so I want to share my story so others don't get stung. I will be reporting them to the BBB (which I doubt they are even a member of) as well as the Oregon Attorney General's office. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of these shysters! read more
