Everything could improve. Service and management was terrible. Can't comment on food cause they messed up my order twice they would not give a full refund. Management told me that company policy says they can only refund what was not right with the order. Even though we did not eat or drink. Customer satisfaction does not matter to them. If you like smash burgers Buddy's is the place to go. I'm also a huge fan of the lemonade and milkshakes. The machine is always working! The service from the time you arrive until you leave is exceptional. The food is made to order so you will have to wait a bit but it's worth every second. If you like a thick juicy burger I'd get a double. Smash burgers are thin and messy so don't hesitate to sit and dig in. Some of the reviews complain about a messy burger but that's my favorite kind! I love their fries with the seasoning and they have really good hand spun milkshakes too. Took over the old fazolis building in SM. Great location in San Marcos, and very welcoming employees. Super clean in dining room and restrooms. Really cold in the dining room but better than stale AC. Ordered 3 meals and an additional burger. Was about 45 bucks. Very attentive employees. Seasoned fries were really good. Burgers were well above average. Will try spicy burger next time. Meant to take a pic of the burger but was too excited. Where do I start? This was my first time coming to Buddy's. I ordered a spicy burger with fries, it was FANTASTIC. Elizabeth was at the counter was very sweet and helpful. The manager, Cody came around a couple of times to check on us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We were so impressed and enjoyed the fresh food. Was anxious to check out the new spot in San Marcos. THE GOOD That is one tasty burger. I got the double with the spicy sauce, and added bacon and grilled onions. Best burger I've had, since I've moved to Texas (and yes, miles better than Whataburger). THE MEH I didn't care for the fries. They were terrible, just not the style I prefer (and I got the seasoned fries). They remind me of Burger King's fries (so if you like those, you'll probably like Buddy's). THE UGLY I had to pull out two separate hairs from my mouth while I was chewing : one while eating fries and one while chewing the burger. I'm far from a germaphobe, nor do I get overly dramatic about such things (hence the 4 star rating). It's a brand new operation, and clearly the cooks need more training on hygiene (and perhaps hair nets ‍), but I hope management will take note and make sure the people preparing and handling food, will take extra care not to leave DNA samples with their customers food. read more

My thoughts: The burgers here taste great! Thin, fresh patty that you can double up and a Texas style bun. Fries are extra crunchy and the plain ones are good but you can kick it up a notch with seasoned fries.
