We have been to Hopdoddy a few times this year, today being the latest and everything has been consistently good. Service and food are top notch. Bathrooms, very clean. Tried the Magic shroom today and it was delicious. You can definitely taste to goat cheese. Popped in after moving our son into his dorm for his freshman year. Having never been, had to give it a try. The restaurant was lined with TVs with an atmosphere subscription. Ambient noise was average. They even offer patio dining. Service was super helpful and they even gave me a sample of their bacon jam. From order to table, food delivery was efficiently prompt. Family all had a double bacon jam burger while I tried the goodnight/good cause. Boys also tried the candy bar shake. The double bacon jam was s pleasant surprise. We decided to come here after church and was happy to see no one in here! We had the whole place to ourselves because they just opened at 11am. This was my first time in here and loved how easy it was. The lady working at the counter was super sweet! We ordered and told us where she would like us to sit. As we waited for our food, she came to deliver us our fries. They were very flavorful! After about ten minutes, the manager came to talk to us to let them know their fryer was taking awhile to heat up. We were waiting on the chicken sandwich. I liked that he communicated this to us! We were in no rush, so it wasn't a big deal at all. As our burgers came out, they were piping hot! They were out of the Tillamook cheddar so I chose American. The food overall was good! As someone that comes from a place with many burger joints with the same business model and ambiance, I felt that my experience was nothing special. The staff were friendly enough but it's not like the kind of restaurant where you're supposed to have someone attending to you, so when asked to tip we were unsure of what to base our tip amount off of. My recommendation is just to be aware that it'll be $15+ a person here. I usually go to happy hour to get parmesan truffle fries for half price, so in terms of getting the best bang for your buck I think there are some alternatives worth considering. read more

Giant concert photos adorn the uncluttered walls. Orders are placed at a counter, and later, delivered to the table. A drink station and full bar line opposite sides of the room. Paper towels sit atop each table. We ordered a Goodnight/Good Cause Burger Bowl, Thunderbird, Llano Poblano Burger Bowl, and Parmesan Truffle Fries. My friend is gluten free and spoke with a helpful chef about the order. There was no trouble. The chef fully understood and guided their order. The food arrived quickly. There were so many fries and they were glorious. I don't know how they do it, but the fries are addictive! I usually try 2 fries and move on - but these were simply amazing. The yum doesn't stop there. The bowls have a delicious chopped salad base with a pleasant creamy dressing. Everyone commented on how juiciness of the meat. My bowl, the Goodnight/Good Cause, was delicious! No one was disappointed and my GF friend had a safe and satisfying meal too. I find it noteworthy that everyone working there seems happy. The shiny and new Hopdoddy's location located at San Marcos. It's finally open at last, and it's brought a ton of business to the shopping center it's located at. I had the Parmesan truffle fries. This location charges Austin prices. So don't be surprised when you see the prices on the menu. Seven dollar fries and eleven dollar salads. But the fries are just as good as I remember them. The bar area is smaller, and the menu on the wall doesn't show the entire menu. For example, you must pick up a paper menu to see that they offer milkshakes. This location is not crowded... Yet. But it certainly is noisy. As usual, there is a worker going down the line and assigning tables to customers. We need to pick up our own food once it's ready instead of someone bringing it to us. Parking is plentiful. But who knows for how long now that this shopping center has businesses actually worth going to. The demographic is mostly made of college students. read more
