Upon bringing my Kingston (all black cat) to the location, it was very clean and the owner was very inviting. She asked if my cat was in distress prior to his arrival, and I mentioned that he was meowing a bit in the car. She allowed my boyfriend and I to stay for a bit, to ensure that he was calm. She said that she can often tell how the animal (mainly cats) will behave the minute she starts to clip their nails. She asked for us to pet him and stay near him as she clipped, so that he felt safe and secure. Nothing more than someone other than me caring about my pet's wellbeing. This meant a lot! As we were there she also cleaned his eyes and ears, and brushed him gently, and she even got a wag from Kingston which is a sign of happiness. I then felt comfortable enough to leave so that she can continue to work on him. I will be booking another appointment with House Pet Grooming in the near future, as I felt she did an amazing job. I am appalled by the service at House Pet Grooming and Trainer. My daughter boarded her two cats…read morethere for 7 days last September, and the experience was nothing short of horrific. Both cats were left in their carriers for long periods, resulting in fur discolored by urine. Despite providing enough food for 10 days, it was all gone when we picked them up, and the cats had lost significant weight, were dehydrated, and extremely anxious. To add insult to injury, the owner not only denied the poor treatment but also accused my daughter of lying about boarding the pets. She even managed to have my daughter's honest reviews taken down. Thankfully, we have photos of the receipt and texts messages between the owner and me. My daughter also has photos from that time that clearly show the deplorable conditions the cats were returned in. Those were submitted in the initial review that the owner had taken down. For the price we paid, we expected basic care, but what we got was negligence and dishonesty. This SHOULD be a police matter. I strongly advise against trusting your pets to this establishment.
