Never do business with Budget. Picked up a car from T.F. green airport that was already dusty, smelled like smoke, remote was half missing, and drove with tire rubbing issues. Reported on gate check out about bad smoke smell and reported on drop off that someone needs to check that car out because of tire and smoke issue. I actually stopped within 20 min of driving the car to get out and take video because of the tire issue made me feel uncomfortable. I used the car for 3 hours. I would have returned it but was trying to make 3:45 ferry to get on island for my brothers service. RIP. Picked up TFG and returned in Falmouth MA on the same day within 3.5 hrs. I have Never smoked in my life. I told lady at drop off that the car has issues with tire noise and smoke. She did say TFG charged me for gas but corrected it as I returned it full. Now they trying to charge me for smoke smell that I reported to her in Falmouth, MA and TFGreen. On the charge paper it also says I returned car next day in Boston, which is impossible when I have receipt and reservation for less than 4 hours for MA. Let alone I have proof of being in MV at the time. TFG failed to inspect or clean car for me and trying to get charged by Falmouth MA location. With new AI check out it makes it harder to complain or write problems down when leaving with car. When I asked for proof they sent pics of dust in vents and car. Well I'm sorry but the I'm not a smoker but 2 that amount of dust in a vent cannot be done in less than 3 hrs in a car. Shady business people all around. read more

My husband and I always book our rental cars through Costco Travel, when we travel, and Budget is usually the best deal. This was not my first time renting from the Providence Airport AKA Warwick, since I have family in the area, but I think it was our first time using Budget instead of Alamo. Budget is also the only company that has a daily toll pass, but for Rhode Island it's not really worth it unless you're going back and forth to Newport a lot IMO. We reserved a standard SUV and they gave us a GMC Terrain. For a standard SUV they promise you a Ford Edge or similar... I think our vehicle had slightly less trunk space which was almost a problem, because we were transporting my parents and their luggage on our first day, but we managed to make it all fit. Very easy to check in and get our car, and easy return process as well. I would rent from this Budget location again when visiting the area. One thing I do like about PVD is that you can walk to the car rental places, also, directly from the airport, as its connected via skywalk. read more

Everything was fine with the car, but when I returned the car, the address to return it to was 700 Jefferson Blvd, which is INCORRECT! Google takes to you an employee entrance. I was parked in the entrance gate and a man came up to my car and said that they get this all the time. Google took me to the right address, but to get to the actually Budget rental, it's about a half-mile drive up and around. Budget Car Rental at TF Greens PVD may not be trusted for their integrity and their cleaniness. I returned my car on 11/12 and forgot my transpoder on the windshield. Since then, my transponder was used in RI, NY, NJ small at first but now over major bridges, tunnels and highways in and out of NYC even after I informed the staff. Also, how much cleaning was done when they do not even see the transponder on the windshield. one place that must be cleaned after each rental. I have filed 2 Lost and Found reports and talked to the airport staff about this missing transponder. Budget claimed there is no report filed, and even after I gave them my L&F claim # said it will take much longer time to even tell me anything. When L&F staff was directly contacted they said this matter is too minor to deal with. It is impossible to get anyone to remedy this simple situation without taking them to court so the lesson here is: Budget is budget for price but also for Cleaniness and Honesty and Help/Support of their customers. don't rent from this awful place. I based my whole trip on what the budget employee told me. I was flying from Florida to RI. and renting a suv to drive back to Florida. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! Leaving one star because I have to. Rented a vehicle, returned it in the same condition I rented it with a full gas tank. They attempted to charge me $180 for 10 gallons of gas after the fact. When I disputed the charge and submitted proof of filling up the tank, I was later charged $290 for "glass damage." Again disputed the charge. and submitted my proof. ABSOLUTELY CORRUPT AND CRIMINAL EMPLOYEES WORKING AT THIS BRANCH. Thankfully Corporate reversed all the charges but what a headache to deal with. Do not use this location! They arbitrarily took $338 off my credit card. This was six months after my rental. They claimed that I damaged the vehicle. The reality of this was that the car was in really poor shape when they rented it out to me. It was dented up and parts of the upholstery were damaged. Submitted a reservation under the pretense of free cancellation within 24 hours from the rental website process, 6 hours later after finding a much more reasonable rate with another rental company, I cancelled the reservation with Budget online to learn that they still deduct will $50 from my credit card for cancelling and even if I cancelled just 1/2 hour after making the reservation, the same $50 would still be extorted from me/ my bank. Very misleading, very deceptive as they refuse to list valid reasons for cancelling while still having you think that you have 24 hours to cancel without any penalty fees. The absolute worse rental experience ever. Arrived at Savannah Airport, May 15, went to pick up our prepaid car.......Fast Break my #$% at least a 3 hour wait. Why accept reservations and collect people's money if you cannot provide the service. Two people at the desk, sometimes one. People in line with little kids, elderly people having to stand for hours. NEVER EVER RENT FROM BUDGET. We ended up getting an uber, extra $110 to Hilton Head, paying a taxi in the morning to pick up a car at Hilton Head Airport, $60, then paying $70 to drop off at a different location. And then there's the day we had no car. We had to be in Hilton Head for a meeting, who expects to wait for a prepaid rental car for 3 hours? There was talk of there not being enough cars too. Very positive experience at Budget Car Rental at TF Green Airport. Was greeted very warmly and nicely by a Salesperson at the Budget counter and she had me in and out to get my rental in less than 5 minutes! Then I saw the new sales manager in the parking lot who helped me find out where the different accessories were located on my rental. The vehicle I rented was clean and drove well. The return was just as positive as I was greeted by several Budget employees who helped me with my return. Will never rent from budget again. Did a prepay rental from Budget online to secure my price and car. Got to the airport and the agent Corey would not stop till her talked me into taking out the insurance on the car. Told me how my insurance and others were horrible. Told me my insurance won't cover the scratches and damages to the car. Said it would have been $134. Extra. Well the insurance turned out to be more than the rental for the car itself. He did not tell me that I had to pay all those other fees again like I did on the rental. Only few I was told I would have to pay was taxes. Did not pay too much to the total till I saw the charges on my card and realized I actually paid an additional $40 over what was quoted. Was told this is a new bill so I had to pay the $6 extra per day. Also he told me never to do a prepay on cars because we are not guaranteed we would get a rental and getting our money back is hard! We would have to fight and it's no guarantee I would have gotten what I paid for. Well after I got my insurance and paid he told me I would get a Toyota that did not happen. I ended up getting a suv that was damaged and they did not walk around the car and inspect it with me. The car was stink of cigarettes once I got on the highway and turned on the heat. When I told them about the damage I was told don't worry about you got the insurance. WTF I did not damage the car. When I complained when I returned the car and called the 800 number I was told the same thing that I signed for the insurance. What does that have to do with the damage and being told about paying that $6.00 per day twice. The 800# ended up credit me $51 back. They are a rip off. I will never rent a car from them again!!! I don't recommend budget. This is my first and last time using budget. I usually use Enterprise. Customer service at the airport is only worried about sales quotas. read more

I was very happy with this rental company. From the start of the process to the end, the staff was professional and helpful. I especially appreciated the check in staff who were very clear and informative through the whole pickup. Dropping off was easy because the staff was quick and efficient. The car we got which was in the Standard Elite SUV category was a Dodge Journey. The car was clean and well maintained. Good tires and Fluids topped off. We will definitely go back to Budget at PVD airport for future car rentals! I highly recommend. read more

This is the best place to rent a car at TF Green Airport. I got a Ford Fiesta for a rental. As an economy car, I was blown away by all the little bells and whistles in this car. The good gas mileage, the Sirius radio, SYNC, and fun car lights made the rental enjoyable. The people are really friendly too. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Apparently they feel it is good business practice to take advantage of a mother flying alone with four young children and not make it right when they get caught. My wife arrived on a late flight with four young kids. They get the reserved car and of course the kids are ready to go after flying in from Florida. So the attendant rushes through the paperwork, sign here, here, here etc and explains very little to my wife who is trying to keep track of kids and this weasel. In the process, they sign her up for car coverage, turning our $450 rental into an $850 rental. We NEVER get this coverage and rent cars fairly frequently. We had no clue until we saw it on our bank account a couple days later. We thought they double charged us. So I tried to get a hold of the location at TF Green Airport, this was impossible. 9 calls to get through. Finally after fighting with corporate and then getting ahold of the lady manager at this location I felt like we were going to get this settled...boy oh boy was I wrong. The manager acts like she was going to help, then gets back on the line and states to me "I'm not willing to refund the coverage" stating that she does not believe that the employee didn't explain it thoroughly to my wife. So now we are liars I guess. I express what a load of BS that was and she gets snippy and says "there's nothing I can do about it". Well, then I had to clarify because she first stated she wasn't willing to do anything, a conscious decision not to help me because she believed I was lying. Then she says she can't do anything like its not possible. Basically, they swindled a distracted mother, doubled our costs, and then called us liars and basically told us to go screw ourselves. So if this is the type of experience you are looking for, Budget at TF Green Airport will not disappoint. We thought that by using what we thought to be a reputable rental company such as Budget that we were safe. Don't rent from here. Terrible customer service and no accountability for leaving traveler stranded. I knew our flight was coming in after the posted !2[30 closing time for our rental that was booked with them. I called ahead several days before arriving to confirm that I would still get my rental. Several calls to the local number did not get me to the local desk, Sent me to the call center and of course they can't help me. I finally call some of the other rental companies at that location and someone was kind enough to get someone from Budget on the phone. The budget rental counter person confirmed that they were adding my flight number to my reservation and that someone would be there late to check us in and provide our rental car. Well needless to say we arrived at 1AM and when we arrived at the counter, nothing but crickets. Went outside and up a floor to the garage desk counter and nothing but crickets. No one stayed at all and we were left stranded at the airport. We were not the only ones. I think I talked to 3 or 4 people that were also budget rental car customers stranded like us. Thank goodness my sister could come pick us up (1hr trip both ways) so we didn't have to find a place to sleep for the night. Next day I go back to pick up my rental for the week. Talk to the manager (also mngr for AVIS). She said that they DO NOT STAY past the closing time and that she would see who was the person that gave me that information. I asked for some sort of consolation discount, upgrade or something for the inconvenience. She said after she investigates, she will call me back with a resolution. Yup week went by and no call or compensation. Terrible customer service and no accountability for leaving traveler stranded and the main number was no help either. This place is so unprofessional. I was given a car that had major mechanical issues, trouble starting it from the beginning. The next morning it would not start, warning light said it was electrical. I had to fight with CS because road service was going to charge me to come and and check the car. They finally agreed it was mechanical and not my fault and would deliver another car to me. A day and a half later I was still waiting so I told them to cancel it, and to reimburse me. I got a vehicle from another company. Additionally, the charge did go through on my CC despite them saying it wouldn't!! Now I have to go through the hassle of disputing it with my CC company. Initially came to check out a car, Heather was awesome! Perfect customer service, she deserves a raise. On the other hand, when I returned the car, the man who I returned it to had no customer service skills. Upon entrance, he immediately said "dropping off?", I said yes, he asked where I parked and I said downstairs, which is where heather said I could return it. So I ran downstairs to drive the car back up to the 4th floor. I didn't really know where to park it, but I parked it in the avis section. I gave a thumbs up through the window, to make sure the spot I parked in was ok. The man saw it but didn't acknowledge. I got out of the car and asked is this ok. He said yes. He asked for my email and told me I was good to go. So, very few words exchanged, very rude and unprofessional and didn't receive a receipt though email. I rented a car for the weekend from this budget and had no issues up until returning the car. I go to return the car and they point out a difficult to see scratch on the side. I contested this since I used the car for two days and had no collisions of any sort. Regardless, I was charged for the repairs for what I feel was essentially a set up. I should have done my due diligence and taken pictures of the car before leaving, but lesson learned. I believe the scratch was there when I left and they used this opportunity to squeeze some money out of me. Horrible car rental car experience. Booked a car (just picked one of the lowest price cars, not knowing what it would be). Got to the counter at my destination (TF Green Airport), and I am told they don't take debit cards. The cost for the car was $340. The guy tells me to "see my supervisor next door here" and sends me over to National Car Rental. They will take debit cards, but my cost is now $760. For the same sized vehicle. I told him to go with a compact car and it was still $480. The original vehicle was apparently a small SUV. He sends me to pick up a car at the Hertz rental area, and the paperwork says Alamo, where I had to return the vehicle. Worst experience ever and the customer service is non existent. Paid for my car over a month in advance, called 2 weeks prior to confirm and make sure all I had to do was show up. After driving over a half hour to get to the airport I stood in line with my daughter waiting to speak with someone. Finally, at our turn we walked up to the counter where I was asked for my card. I handed over the exact card I used to pay (the money has already been deducted from my account). After she took my card she swiped it into the register and I asked if she was charging it, which was the first time I found out they would be holding an additional $100. The woman then hands me back my card and asks for a major credit card, which I don't own. I explained I called and they said everything was all set. Apparently it wasn't and they were not going to except my Mastercard debit card as a form of payment, even though they had taken payment. I asked for information on canceling that Noone could provide. After calling the 800 number, being provided with another 800 number that was out of order, and calling back the 800 number, I finally was told 2-3 business days for my refund. A few hours later I get an email confirmation stating they would be keeping $10 and it would be 3-7 business days. After calling and speaking to the supervisor, Megan, I was told there was nothing they could do for me except give me back the $10 they wanted to keep. After I explained that my mother then tried to rent the car under her name with her card only to be told there were no cars to rent, she then proceeds to to tell me I'm not listening to her and that it's my fault I don't have a credit card to rent the car.
