I reserved a cargo van for July 24 to pick up items from my storage unit. I flew into town specifically for this purpose, spending approximately $400 on airfare, and arrived at the Budget location a little early for my confirmed reservation. To my disbelief, I was informed that there were no cargo vans available, and no trucks available either. What made the situation even more frustrating was the complete lack of customer service. The owner or manager never came out to apologize, explain what happened, or offer any type of solution. Instead, the employee at the counter simply gave me the phone number for another Budget location, saying they had a truck available. When I called, I was told they had no vehicles available either. I then contacted six additional Budget locations, and every one of them told me the same thing, including for the following day. As a result, I wasted $400 on airfare for a trip that served no purpose because Budget failed to honor my confirmed reservation. I then had to spend another $400 to fly back to Georgia, and I will now have to pay for yet another trip to retrieve my belongings. This entire situation has cost me hundreds of dollars, valuable time, and an incredible amount of frustration. I have rented from Budget for many years and have always trusted the company. Unfortunately, this experience has permanently changed my opinion. A confirmed reservation should mean that a vehicle will be available, or at the very least, that the company will make every effort to resolve the issue when it cannot honor its commitment. To make matters worse, I canceled my reservation after being told there were no vehicles available. I was informed that the reservation could not be canceled in the system at that time. Despite that, on July 27, Budget attempted to charge a deposit to my credit card. Thankfully, my credit card company flagged and prevented the transaction. After everything that had already happened, seeing an attempted charge for a reservation that Budget was unable to fulfill was unacceptable and only added to my frustration. This is, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Budget has lost a long-time customer, and I will not be renting from them again. If I could rate them less than a 1 star I would! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! We arrived at Budget at 11:00 to pick up the rental we had reserved, our pick up time was 12:00 so we were early. The red open sign on the door was there but below that was a sign that was hand written and said OUT OF CARS CLOSED it also had store hours 8:00 to 6:00 crossed out and changed to 8:00 to 2:00 then that was crossed out and changed to 8:00 to 12:00. Clearly they closed early even thought the lot had many cars in it, the sign stated they where out of cars. Budgets customer service was not helpful but did agree to refund my money, and stated if they are out of cars then they can't really rent you one. we ended up getting one for slightly more money about 40.00 for the week from Enterprise who is much more reliable! I will never rent from Budget again, and dont recommend this location at all! read more

Would never recommend to anyone . First day pulling off the lady gave me a vehicle completely different from the one I reserved . The vehicle did not drive at all. Check engine light was on & could not be driven on highway at all or up hills. I'm pregnant & said I didn't feel comfortable driving so said I'd return the next day. Returned the next day for a different gentleman to be completely rude to me because I asked for the vehicle I reserved or similar. Instead he gave me a big vehicle. (Jeep truck)To be rude when I came off but nothing but polite is observed. Unprofessional. Cleaned the vehicle inside & out before returning to service but did not receive my deposit. I wish I could give this 0/5 stars. This is the WORST experience renting a car I have ever had. The gentleman at the counter acts like he hates his job in every single interaction he has with customers. This Budget /Avis rental center is another one of the WORST to rent from. The customer service is crappy & the lie to customers face just to get more money from the rentals. I've always used my bank card/ credit card when renting they just hold extra money on the card until the car is returned. The trashy blob who was the rep who didn't even speak to the customers when entering the center, just ran to the back & kept holding a conversation with another employee when my husband asked could someone come help us after standing there for over 8 minutes and not even helping or acknowledging a customer walked in. She seen us when we walked in, she was the only I e @ the desk mind you. After my husband asks for help from someone she comes back out of the back room with an attitude, talking short to the customer. Then when asked for the driver's license & credit card the customer hands her both, she immediately hands it back & says no we need your credit card. She's then advised that the same card is always used @ this rental site & other Budgets & never have a problem. Mind you I rent cars from them every other month for work. On top of that, they have a policy flyer right on the counter stating if you use your bank/ credit card another charge will be added until the rental is returned. Which is what I always do. After saying this the rep gets mad because she knows she's lying and says do you want this rental because I don't have to rent it to you, I then state, do you want this money because I can go somewhere else. At the very time I wanted my cards back due to her nasty attitude & customer service. First rule in customer service is the customer is always right& when you know you're not giving good service don't give the customer attitude when the call you out on it!! I don't reward bad behavior & they don't deserve my hard earned money. Oh yeah.... If you make a reservation for a car, good luck because they almost never have the car you reserved only excuses as to why you should pay when you make the reservation instead of when picking up the car. I had a horrible experience with Budget! Very unprofessional all around! Would not reimburse me for my car wash because I didn't pick the car up from that location. The car was extremely dirty on the outside when I received it. I was greeted with a woman that had a shirt on, that said, "Get over that shit." I asked her if she could give me a 25% discount because I am a teacher. Budgets website said they give a 25% discount to teachers. She said no I already got a discount I Asked her what the discount was for, And she said she didn't know. Later when she print in my receipt, she said I received a 10% discount. I told her that the teacher discount would be more. She said that budget never gives more than a 10% discount. I told her that the website said budget gives a 25% discount to teachers. She said that budget never gives over 10%. I asked her if there was a number for corporate on the receipt she said yes. There was an a number for corporate only a number for the place where I picked up the car. There was a little mud On the passenger side from my shoes. She rudely said, "Do you want to clean that up?" I don't know what she expected me to clean it out with and it was only a little bit. I feel that she was upset with me so she was being nitpicky about the car. I will never go to budget again. I went because it was cheaper than enterprise, and that was a mistake this is the most unpleasant unprofessional experience that I have ever had with a car rental.
