They called me and it looked like not a scam call somehow so I answered. They asked if I wanted a free quote for exterior work. I'd been thinking about this so I said ok. Sales guy showed up the next day and was unlikable from the start. He started with "prices will go up in the 1st Q of next year 3-5%". I questioned him on this and he blamed it on inflation and the current administration. He swore, which I don't care about, but maybe wait until the customer gives you some indication that they aren't sensitive to that? I felt like I was trying to pull information out him about the best route to go with siding and windows and he asked if I had done any research on this project? They called me so I was looking for them to be a resource for information. We walked the exterior of the house and he ended up giving me a number of 45k. Which I didn't think was unreasonable for siding and windows but he just threw it out there and asked how I would be paying... cash, financing, etc. When I asked him to just send me a quote he asked me to write down my email address and said "make sure you write it legibly". The guy was just.... Insulting and aggravating. When I was clearly grumpy about our interaction and asked that he just send me a quote he suggested that we go in the house and sign the paperwork. I told him no and that I was going to get other quotes. He may have known it wasn't worth the time to send a quote and I never got one. After reading all of the "recommended reviews" I looked at the non recommended and I wondered why yelp decides to only put he bad ones first. I asked the sales rep who sold me siding that as well. He said he had no idea but if u look at he ones at the end here are some good reviews. After getting my siding installed I am going to recommend my own review. These websites are designed to get company's to spend money to "advertise" and without paying to do so they put the bad reviews first. I know this because I was referred to budget by a group of friends all of which have used budget in the past and had a good experience myself included. The sales man was smart and friendly he under promised and over delivered. The installers were on time and perfessional and the office staff was friendly. You can't judge a company by the few people who are upset but more by the many previous customers they have. I too as a small buisness owner know how hard it is to get happy customers to go to review websites. I also know that the competition will put bad reviews up just so they look better. My advice is go with a company that's been around for 25 years and has a lot of repeat customers I.e. Budget exteriors. read more

We have had Budget Exteriors put new Vinyl Siding on the house, Replace all the windows, replace a patio door, and add insulation to the attic. We continue to return to Budget Exteriors for all these projects because of the excellent work and real results we have seen. We have seen it on our energy bills! We believe that budget is truly using top grade materials and all of the installers we have worked with are friendly and have many years of experience. The siding is noticeably higher quality then the stuff builders are using and definitely higher quality then you can get in a box store. They used high quality house wrap and added foam insulation behind the siding. The first winter we saw a reduction in energy cost just from the siding. The windows on our house were the next thing we upgraded. We had problems with drafts and ice build up in the winter. It was a huge heat lose for the house. At this time we also had insulation blown into the attic. During the second winter the windows were free of drafts and dry as a bone all winter! We saw additional energy savings on our bills! We would and have recommended Budget Exteriors for their excellent work! read more

I am so embarrassed and appalled by many things in my home town, but this is just something else. What an ATROCIOUS, racist, classist, ignorant eyesore and I REALLY hope the people in the Twin Cities area are aware of this business's actions and the prejudiced, ignorant, awful views they hold. I am extremely happy with the service given to my wife and I from this company. Their sales representative Lou, came and explained the possible need for refreshing our insulation. We asked him to give us some time, and as a result he waited several months before contacting us again. We agreed in the spring to have him come to inspect our insulation. He even had me go up to look at what we had. I was amazed at how little insulation we had remaining. We then asked him to try to set it up for us. He was able to, and the company arrived in June to do the work. The group that arrived did an excellent job, in less time than we had been told it might take. The person in charge of the crew, also checked our house to see if several other necessary things (smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and so forth), were present and correctly connected, and he corrected all the problems he found. I had the crew from Budget insulate my roof in May of '21. When they called they were very respectful of my income limits and I have been more than satisfied with their work and the results in my heats bills. When everyone's heating bills went up last winter, mine actually went down. I went from a low "fair" rating in energy use to a "great" compared to other houses of the same year/size. I sleep in an large attic bedroom with only a space heater. I had to turn on the space eater a few nights last winter but had to turn it of during the night because the room was warm. In years past I was lucky to get any heat to stay in the room. While I am still paying off the loan, my heat costs have decreased to more than my loan payments. I live on a fixed income and I can afford to pay of the loan early! I highly recommend their work. After they left their was no mess and my only clue that they had worked was the photos they gave me and the new access, resealed, into the sides of my wall. read more

We had windows and siding put on our house in August of this year and could not be more thrilled at the work that was done. The siding took a little bit longer than expected (about a week) , but was well worth the wait. All of the contractors that came to the house were very respectful and professional. The electrician did a wonderful job and even put up 2 new lights for us. The window installer was very quick at his work and was in and out within a few hours. My wife noticed a problem with one of the windows and was not happy with it, so she called them they ordered another one and it was installed the same day that it arrived. All lines going to our house(cable, phone, electrical, etc.) are all hidden and can not be seen on the back of the house. After seeing other siding jobs and getting other bids I am glad that we paid a little extra for the work that we received. It was worth every penny. JOB WELL DONE! read more

Beware of this company. They called me to run their sales pitch and I politely asked to be taken off their cold call list. When he kept pushing to talk about about siding, I asked where he got my info and he said he was calling from a public list he had from Kohls. I again asked him to be put on his do not call list but he would not acknowledge my request and kept asking to talk to the home owner. I told him that I have now asked him twice to be put on the do not call list and he is not listening. I said I know that you are calling from Budget Exteriors in Bloomington and I will be filing a complaint. He then said he would add me to his list. When somone says no, that doesn't mean keep going and try harder. It means that the several other low reviews about this company may be a sign to change your approach in a couple of areas. Budget Exteriors insulated our attic and we are very happy . The whole process from dealing with the salesmen to the installers went smoothly ! They were friendly and courteous and they knew their product and how it would be installed. They answered every question we asked and dealt with every problem or concern we had. The installers Brandon and Tom did an excellent job and did it in a timely manner. They did a wonderful job cleaning up . They removed any old materials and vacuumed to remove anything that was on the floor and they cleaned up the outside area where they added a couple of vents. Brandon and Tom were courteous and they also answered questions we had about the installation and the product . If I could give this company zero stars... I would... They called me and solicited their services... Said their reps were bored and they didn't have anything to do and asked if I needed any estimates on anything... So I said sure I need a new furnace and I need an AC unit. The most unprofessional gentleman walked into my house, looked at my basement and said $15,000 without even going over any units or anything specific. I said that was by far the highest quote I've ever received and he goes well if you can get it cheaper get it cheaper somewhere else. It was absolutely laughable and I don't know how this company is in business. I actually thought I might've been set up for a scam or a robbery when these guys showed up based on their demeanor and unprofessionalism. read more

We had a couple of projects done by Budget Exteriors. One was to insulate our attic and replace the windows and doors in our 3 season porch. Attic project we had no issues. We had the windows installed in Jan, so we never tried opening the windows. Come spring/summer we wanted to open the windows, and they were extremely difficult to open. Call BE, and they looked at them, and asked us to remove a piece of trim, and then they opened better. That wasn't the best solution, so they came out again to review the windows, and determined they windows should be slightly smaller, so they are replacing them. It took some time to get this resolved, however, it is getting fixed at no cost to us. I am happy they are honoring their working and making it right. read more

We recently had our siding replaced and one window by Budget Exteriors. From the beginning it was a seamless process. Chris our salesman was very educated and patient while we looked at multiple colors for our siding! After he left we were kept informed by Budget on what was happening and given updates. Day of install was the beginning to a great end result. Aaron and his helper were very friendly and personable and took the time to explain what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. Also they went out of there way to fabricate a flashing ??? to help keep the water in the gutters and not splashing on the house. I am on the national Do Not Call Registry, and "John" from Budget Exteriors cold called me and tried to offer me a free home inspection. I informed him that we have never had a business relationship, and I am on the registry, therefore he's not allowed to call. He argued with me and told me that he is allowed. His inaccurate logic was that because he's offering a free inspection, somehow he's in the same category as a charity. I told him that he is a business, not a charity, and he has been reported to the FTC more than once. If you are on the Do Not Call list and this company calls you with no prior relationship, please report them to donotcall.gov They clearly haven't learned their lesson. read more

I actually had a very good experience with them. I went to my mom's who was doing exterior remodeling in her home and she had called this company and scheduled remodeling with them. They installed new windows which look pretty amazing and I was on the phone with their sales work representative a few times who helped the process run smoothly. We also had the roofing done because with the rain and the amount of time that the roof had not been remodeled it started to wear out, we got a great deal and the roof looks stable and like it was a job well done. All in all, I'm sure this company is as professional as they can be with all their costumers. read more

Wow what a great group of people to work with! From the office staff, to the sales people to the installers right on through to the follow-through with the permit close-out - I can't say enough how pleased we were with our experiences! Everybody arrived when they said they would, were totally professional & courteous - they even did their own clean-up! (cheerfully, I might add.) I was very satisfied with the insulation job that was completed in a timely manner. The crew showed up on time that was agreed upon, were professional, friendly and went right to work. They explained what they were going to do according to the work order and if I had any questions before they started. Wish there was a negative star option. These guys scammed my Grandmother out of $6000 for gutter repair (no repair was actually done) and some real neat looking leaf guards. Their only responses when contacted were: Are you power of attorney? (HUGE RED FLAG YOU SCAMMING AS*ES) and If you take this to court you will not come out ahead. We had an excellent experience with Budget Exteriors. We thought that the sales repersenative, customer service and insulations installers were all very polite and professional. We had wall insulation done with Retro Foam. We have talked to other companies about steel siding any they won't work with steel siding. But Budget Exteriors said that it wasn't a issue. Scam artists that prey on the elderly and the un-informed. They hyper inflate their prices based on who they are selling to. They claim to insulate with 1/4" of high density foam. That isn't even a real thing, and it provides literally no insulating benefit at all. They sell Retro-foam, which is a junk product that breaks down quickly with exposure to air. They convince old people to ditch their wood siding for cheap vinyl. They use scare tactics to prevent people from getting out of the deal. Truly a disgusting company. BEWARE! read more
