    Pee in the elevator

Saw fresh pee in the elevator. But on a positive note, I did find some vegan blunt wraps in the lobby.

This place is disgusting. I stayed here because I work in Emeryville and did not feel like driving home since I stay in Sacramento. Anyways I woke up and I was itching in several places I thought I had been bitten by mosquitoes or something. I checked out about 7:30am since I had work. I notified the manger about all the bites and she said she could do nothing for me. As the day went along my arm begin to swell and those bites grew larger and larger. I went to Kaiser only to find out they were bed bugs. I called the manager again and she said what do you expect me to do. I was so upset here it is that the finds where bed bugs and she could care less. I only asked that she exterminate so no one has to go through this because this is nasty, painful, and it's violating that I spend my hard earned money for a peaceful night that I did not receive. Don't waste your time or money they need to be placed out of business.

    Bed Bugs!

I can't even begin to explain how disappointed I am with this place and the management. I've been here before but this visit has really changed it all. I dosed off around 10pm. I woke up around 12am, went to the restroom, and when I returned I saw something crawling on my bed! I looked closer and it was a bed bug! After I nearly died, I grabbed a cup from the bathroom to trap it. I looked to my left and there was another one! Then a baby one! I started shaking and packing my items when I looked down and saw one crawling on my shirt, I nearly died again! I knocked it off and there was another going up the wall...OMG, its infested! I went to the front desk. After he gave me attitude he gave me another room. Well guess what, MORE BED BUGS! I packed up once again and headed to the car. I went in to tell management and request a refund. They refused to give me a refund. ...now I have to take further action. I'm so tired of shady businesses

I leave long reviews, so I apologize in advance! We had a room booked for 2 queen sized beds since…read morethere were supposed to be 4 of us. The week before our stay, a 5th person who had previously said they weren't coming, decided to come. Expected to stay with us of course since they didn't want to pay for their own room. (Gotta love family. ) I called the hotel & explained what was happening & asked if we could get a cot or something so no one had to sleep on the floor. She put me on hold for a brief minute & then told me she was able to upgrade us to a room that had a couch that folded out to a bed. Then told me there'd be no extra charge. I was so grateful! When we checked in & got to the room, the sofa was in a small area with a wall, so you couldn't see the actual bedroom from the front door or sofa area. We saw there was an extra pillow in the closet, but no bedding there. When I told my daughter I was going to go to the lobby & get bedding, she suggested I fold it out first to see if it was made up. Sure enough, all made up with sheets & a blanket. Again, so appreciated! Very clean room, beds were comfortable, basic amenities provided, including a small fridge & coffee maker. Coffee, tea, creamers, and sugars provided. Hair dryer, ironing supplies also in the room with a nice sized closet/hangers. We didn't need them, but I like to include what was provided to help anyone reading this that may. This will be our go to hotel when in this area again. Lit parking lot & a person at the desk 24/7. Which was also appreciated since our uber was coming at 3AM to get us to the airport. Complimentary breakfast. Our daughter said it was "decent", but my husband & I were gone by the time it opened. coffee & tea available in a nice sized lobby 24/7. very much appreciated thing since we were leaving at 3AM! Vending machines also available with sodas, juices & water. (Pricey, but at least available!) pricing was good as well.

It was also an easy drive from Rockridge (where we had dinner) and conveniently located right on Webster. Negatives - None +/- - Check in was a little slow due to a short line and a lot of chatter ahead of me. - Just OK shower pressure with long water warm-up. Positives - Convenient Parking in what seemed like a safe neighborhood. - Decent free hot breakfast. - Clean and comfortable room, with separate sleeping and Livingroom areas.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would!…read more I recently stayed at this location and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. As we were checking out, I discovered a live bed bug in our room. I reached out to the corporate office, and they assured me the hotel would contact me within 2-5 days. However, I never received any follow-up from a manager at the location. The lack of communication and failure to address this serious issue is beyond disappointing. The presence of a live bed bug on the day of checkout is unacceptable, and the hotel's disregard for guest concerns is alarming. I would highly recommend avoiding this property until significant improvements are made. I certainly won't be returning, and I'm left questioning the standards of this hotel chain. If you want to get bit by bed bugs, go here

I am torn on this review, because I use Best Western religiously when traveling for pleasure or…read morebusiness. This hotel offered what I liked: good rates, great location central to freeways and attractions, and easy access and parking - no long walks to distant rooms! However, having stayed here a few nights I can also say that the staff at check-in was excellent, and the check out staff as well. Very professional and friendly. The rooms are large, the amenities decent - limited breakfast, pool and spa, fridge in rooms, and they place inside the rooms and in common areas was quite clean! Plus I treated myself to a room with a jacuzzi! Very nice after a long day of hiking at Lake Chabot! Soooo . . . why 2 stars? I did not sleep at all those nights! I wondered why a hotel would provide commercial grade earplugs on each nightstand, and now I know. The freeway noise from 880 - which is literally a cyclone fence away - is consistently loud at any hour of day or night. And the windows are not double paned, of course which might help. I have never heard such noise in any Best Western, so this really was unexpected by me. I am not even sure which rooms would be quietest. In any case, now that I know this I would likely NOT stay here again unless I was really in need of good rates and location. A catch-22 to be sure. Otherwise, a nice property - lots of contractors staying here (probably attracted by location and rates, as I was) but they were not a problem. Didn't see any couples or families, come to think of it . . . a working man's hotel! So, beware of the noise and make a balanced decision in staying here - I may try another wing and room and see what happens.

They actually had a room ready and let us check in one hour early. To keep this review brief, I decided to just give the pros and cons and add informative photos. Pros: comfy king bed, big closet, large safe, microwave, fridge, keurig, quiet room, open balcony, San Francisco Bay Trail below our balcony, large bath with separate shower, Exercise room with no free weights, Quench water machine, EV chargers, snack/drink machines, morning breakfast/coffee served (worth skipping). Cons: No USB ports in the room?! Hotel is fairly close to the sketchy side of town (homeless camp 200 ft from hotel). No cold bottled water for rewards members, no pool, no airport shuttle, carpeting instead of laminate flooring, paid parking, our thermostat was really glitchy and would not work. Added benefit: your hotel key gains you access to the Executive Inn and Suites next door. There you will find a small pool/hot tub. There's also a small bar that opens at 5pm (happy hour 5:30-7:30) and you can order food as well. A Monday night stay was $325 and they charge $17 a day to park in their lot next to Hwy 880, not in a garage. I thought the rate was fairly high considering it's not the closest hotel to the airport and it's in the sketchy part of town. Check out the photos.
