Worst experience I have ever had. There is no lobby, just a bullet proof window to speak through where you can barely even hear them. Had to walk back to the bullet proof window 3 times within 20 minutes on day 1 of my stay because the room key kept deactivating. Only after the 3rd time did the lady tell me that if they get ANYWHERE near an electronic device, the key deactivates. I've never heard of that. Even after keeping the key far away from any electronics, I still had to get it reactivated 5 more times throughout my stay; almost every day. They actually had the nerve to suggest that I didn't know how to open a hotel room door so I even took a video showing them it wasn't working. Once I got in the room, there where cockroaches; poop and blood stains on the sheets; and black stains on almost all of the towels. House keeping never came to my room (stayed for a week) so I had to track them down with their cart just to get basic necessities like toilet paper and soap. Don't even try the wifi because it's useless. Spoke with the owner about my horrible experience upon check out and she tells me that "we could have addressed these issues at the time but you didn't bring them up." Regardless of when I bring it up, what are you prepared to do about it? She just shrugs her shoulders. I ask her specifically what she would have done to address it at the time and all she could say on repeat like a broken record is "well we could have addressed this at the time." Clearly wouldn't have done anything to address it. I had already killed the roaches so what exactly would you have done? Given me another room? That would have been my 3rd room since getting there. "Bed Bug Infested" So, I stayed here a while back I just didn't get around to leaving a review. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt to make it right for me. But of course they didn't. On September of 2018 I booked a one night stay at this hotel hoping to get some rest and sleep. However, I was awaken just two hours into my stay by this unpleasant itch on my arms, neck, and face. When I finally awoke, one of my eyes was half shut and I had welts all over my body. I got up off the bed and turned the sheets inside out only to find a number of well-fed bed bugs crawling on the linens. I took my phone out and started recording. I smashed a few with my finger and blood squirted from them so I knew they had just fed. They were all over the place. I check in the creases of the mattress, under mattress, they were everywhere and of all sizes. So, you know they where breeding. I went to bathroom to see the damage. One of my eyelids had a welt on it that swelled enough to shut my eye. I had bites on my arm, back, neck, and face. I went to the office to let them know that they had a bed bug problem but of course they denied it. I told them I wanted my money back that I'm not staying there. They replied by saying that It was too late that I had already checked in and that there are no refunds. Even after I told them they had bed bugs. They did not want to hear it so I asked to speak to the manager but of course he wasn't there. I reiterated that I'm not go back into that room and that I wanted a refund. The hotel was completely booked so they did not have any more rooms available. I asked for a refund once again so that I could stay somewhere else. But again they did not want to give me a refund. So I told them that this was not the last time they will hear from me, so I took out my phone a showed them the video and pictures I took of the bedbug infested room and to my surprise they didn't hesitate to give me a refund. I contacted the health department and followed up with them making sure that they take care of there infestation but not sure how that went. I only hope that they did check up on them and that they learned their lesson. But I really doubt it. I'm sure they re-booked that room the same night I left. read more

Giving 4 stars cause the front desk night cleak service is slow and slightly rude . But other then that day time managers and owners are amazingly great people. Something very weird happened, on my second to last day a maid knocked and came inside my room unannounced at 9:20am for some reason. The door was locked and the TV was up to the point where she could hear from outside and took it upon herself to unlock the door and come in.. at 9:20am... & it was not check out day and even if it was check out time is 11am not 9:20am. So I proceeded to call the front desk to see why the maid just walked into my room unannounced while I was sleeping & the lady on the phone was trying to act like it was completely normal and fine the maid unlocked the door, walked in unannounced at 9:20am (not my check out day) with the TV hearable... She made it seem like since I didn't open the door it's normal for a maid to unlock an occupied room & walk in at 9:20am while I'm sleeping??? Super weird and odd. I was very weirded out and have never experienced anything like that. Also disgusting, don't ever stay here. I Found a roach in the bathroom and it was over. I can't remember which hotel app I made this reservation. The price was $85 with tax $90 something. Check in was fast and easy, the lady was very nice, and I read ahead that they need a $100.00 cash deposit which was returned as soon as I checked out. Now the room was big with dark flooring, it looked like it was recently renovated. However it didn't feel clean. It had an odor of old cigarette smoke from days gone by and that they tried to clean it with something but you can still smell it. The bathroom floor needed to be mopped, I saw some brown spots by the toilet, old dried blood? Plus there was ashes all over the toilet and the sink and counter. New towels would be nice and wouldn't be so scratchy. I turned on the air conditioner and it wasn't as efficient as it is at home. The air felt damp and probably needs the filter changed. The pool was filled with dirt. The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows had stains. I was just using this place for sleep and leaving pretty early in the morning. So I tolerated the one night. For the price I paid I didn't expect much....and they delivered on my expectations. Next time I'll pay the extra $50 and stay at a nicer hotel for cleanliness and no smell in the room. Being renovated isn't enough to substitute for cleanliness and quality. Just do yourself a favor and choose another cheap motel/hotel. You can definitely find a place in Oakland that's the same price or lower and would be better than this place. The family that runs and operate this place are super unprofessional and conduct shady business. 1st red flag, after booking through hotels app, I got an email from Budget Inn asking me to write a positive review in exchange for a discounted rate for my next stay. I don't ever plan on returning. So I will speak about my experience as it was; I will not lie for a business that doesn't even care about their customers. Red flag #2, the guy at the front desk was too distracted on his phone to notice we rang the bell and was standing there for a while. When he finally realized, he gave us attitude for interrupting him. (Also, there was an older man who was pacing in the back shirtless, like we see you...?) After checking in, we went to the assigned room which was OCCUPIED. Yes, the front desk assigned us a room that still had guests in there and we walked in on them. The guy staying in there rushed to the front office and my bf did too to get a new room. Apparently, their system was messing up and didn't recognize that the prior guests extended their stay. So on their end, it said the room was open when it definitely was not. Red flag #3, the other guests who stay at this location are sketchy. We could see that someone's car got broken into in the parking lot. The people who stayed in the room above us were stomping around and slamming drawers and doors from the time we arrived (past midnight) to early morning. I don't understand what they could've been doing for all those hours cause it was persistent. After not sleeping at all, even though we got there late night and were exhausted. My bf went back to the front office to change rooms. This time it was a woman who helped us and she said there would be no rooms available until after 3pm. Well this whole experience started off on a bad note, so we told her either they give us a new room or we want a refund. She complied and guess what? She assigned us the SAME room from last night that was STILL occupied. We explained to her that this was the issue yesterday when we checked in. At this point, they still don't understand why their system was messing up and we just wanted a refund. (Bonus, they don't offer refunds.) So finally she went around the buildings and said she found a room that was open. That's weird. Just a min ago she said no rooms would be available until after 3pm...Anyways, they wouldn't give us a refund so we accept the room and move over there. Red flag #4, we paid for a king room and this new room was less quality than the one we were just in. Why is that? This new room's linens were more rough than the last one. This room was literally falling apart. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was hanging on for dear life, screw loose and everything. Had this fell on our head while on the toilet, that would be a lawsuit. There were minor damages in the room. I took a video and pictures just in case they try to blame us and keep my deposit. I also found a cockroach next to my bf's luggage. Then going back to red flag #3, the people staying in the room next to us started having a heated fight at 12:14am and didn't stop till almost 2am. They were banging on the walls, screaming at the top of their lungs, slamming doors and causing a scene right outside our door. I called the front desk to tell them what was going on and they did nothing. We were so put off by our overall experience, we left early. I paid for 4 nights and left halfway through. I wasted almost $300 for a terrible experience at this dump. Oh and it's free wifi but you have to request it, they don't just give you the login upon checking in. The signal is horrible though so you're better off using mobile data or hotspot. read more

Required documentation for medical service dog which break Ada laws/federal laws They are allowed to ask specific questions and that is it. I have proper documentation but it breaks Ada laws as one does not need need to disclose personal/very specific diagnosis from doctors verses vague. It is why Ada laws are in effect to protect the rights of of individuals. Anyone can obtain make certificates online for medical service dogs now a days and it doesn't make them a medical service dogs by the way. The general manager Vic is very rude. I don't even know if she gave me her correct name. It's an Indian lady. I wanted to extend my stay in the same room, but she wouldn't give me the same rate as what is listed in a hotel tonight app--instead of only paying 76 dollars, she wanted me to pay 110 dollars. I asked her what if I rebook it again. She told me in a rude way that I have to wait 5 hours to get the 76 dollars. I have to leave the room and come back again after 5 hours. I'm trying to stay in the same room, so I don't have to move at all. This so-called general manager is very unprofessional and not capable of doing her job well. She made it so inconvenient for me that I have to stay somewhere else. When I told her I would give you guys a review about my stay here, she got even madder. When I called to confirm the pool, I was told it was "closed for the winter!" Huh? It's not yet even Fall. We just had a heat wave. So I asked if it was open for the summer and the guy started mumbling about repairs. Later when I drove by to look, it is clearly not working and hasn't been for a while, judging by all the junk piled in it. This place used to be nice before it was Budget Inn, but now--scary. Anyway, I decided enough time had passed, and perhaps a new staff or new management had straightened up the place since my last visit. I jumped online and checked Priceline, found a deal at this place for $45. So I proceeded to call the hotel directly, just to simply VERIFY that I can reserve a room for a certain number of nights at the price listed on Priceline (which is not uncommon, plus I just prefer to double check things & have all my ducks in a row before making a commitment, in general)... Anyway, the man at the front desk who answered my call was rude from second one. I first asked what the rate was for a single room (most hotels do not have set rates, in fact they change quite frequently) and the employee answers with a sharp, nasty "The price is the same as it has always been!"... OK, so I then proceeded to ask him about the $45/night deal I found on Priceline, and he responded with "Why are you asking me? Why did you ask the rate if you think it's $45? Call them (he meant Priceline, I assume?) and ask them these questions!"... Then he hung up on me before I could express my dismay... Now, granted, I had stayed at this location before, so I had not walked into this situation with any expectation of receiving superior customer service, on any level, from this group, but the response he gave was excessively rude and condescending, even for them. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this location, for several *legitimate* reasons, but primarily because you'll pay a three or 4 star hotel price, but will have to deal with attitudes and disagreements and argumentative staff for your entire stay. Their prices are too high when you consider the sacrifices the guest has to make (NO customer service or consideration for their guests, lack of cleanliness, etc)... I guess if someone's in a bind, and when all the surrounding hotels are booked to capacity, then understandably the last resort would need to be this place (I'd bet money this location is never completely booked, sad for them it is mostly just because they have extremely RUDE people on their employee roster. :-\ read more

The worse hotel yet!!!!! I've been to over 100 hotels in my life and this one has been the worse!!! Where do I start! The tv didn't work. The man behind the lobby desk said he was going to send his technician down....one hour later I call him back up from my room phone and he said the technician didn't want to come. So I went back to the lobby desk to ask if this can be rectified and he said, "no! You should have read your itinerary. It clearly states that the tv doesn't work and you can't use the pool!" I thought that maybe I missed something so looked up my itinerary. Sure enough it said nothing about these services not working. He said," well they probably left that out." I was so frustrated that I told him this place is definitely getting a bad review on Yelp! I went to a fast food venue next door and when I returned I noticed a bad of drugs with a straw still lingering in the bag right next to the front lobby door. I told the manager at least you can pick up the bag full of drugs off your front door. I pointed to the bag of drugs on the ground as he came outside and proceeded to argue with me as if I was in the wrong. I told him he was being a belligerent ass and he called me a "F---KING idiot!" !!!WOW!!! He said if I didn't like it here I could leave. I said I would love to if I could get my money back. He said to call back up my booking place 'Priceline.com' and he would allow it to happen. So I called up Priceline.com. Priceline.com called up the office of the place I was staying to confirm.
