Completely unreliable! I had reserved a truck for yesterday because I needed to move, I received the confirmation just for them to call me the morning of to tell me they didn't have the truck! I waited for hours for a solution, and they just kept delaying it. Finally they called me, and told me they didn't have any trucks or solutions for me. When I asked the manager why would they give me a confirmation if they didn't have the truck? That it put me in a bad spot with my job I'm moving for... he just said "It's automated ". No apologies, no "we are trying yo fix it". When I told him how negatively it affected me, there was literally silence on the other end. TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEVER TRUST THEM. I prepaid online! $310 for a small suv I showed up the day of my pick up date a hour early which I called and they were nice enough to let me. I was immediately greeted I think my the owner/boss I went to get the car I was surprised it was actually the car I wanted and not something similar. It was a little irritating to me they would give me a damn car after I paid $310 with the front windshield cracked and it actually had a small hole in the middle! Now my actual car he a cracked windshield but it's been sealed and it's no hole but I still didn't want to travel like that the reason why I got a rental and my rental has the same issue! So so tacky!!!! And he had no shame!!! The car was not clean! Dusty inside window smeared I couldn't believe my eyes! I can't believe the owners don't take enough pride in the cars they give ppl! Now I couldn't bring the car back that way but they give me a car with a cracked windshield! I'm so glad it didn't get worst! That would have been a big disappointment to stop my trip to go get a new car or get a window fixed! They should think about these things! This will definitely be my last time getting a car at this location and possibly even budget because they do not allow you to modify anything you have to cancel the whole reservation and make a new one! I received great customer service and car was available. Staff was very helpful and they provided friendly customer service.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I tried to rent a car from here in October and paid the deposit. When I was on my way to pick up the car I received a call at 11am that there were no cars available but I would be called back if any became available. I asked them at the time if I would receive my money back since my account showed that there was a pending charge. They said the money was not charged and they didn't know why it was pending out of my account. Later that day my fiancé called back and asked them if any cars became available and they said no. He asked if I would receive my money back as it was showing the charge. Crazy part is we waited until 5pm to leave in case a car became available. A couple days later the charge was still there so I disputed the transaction. Now in December the bank took the money they had credited me from the dispute because this place lied and said there were cars available and that my fiancé and I just didn't pick it up. Despite the fact that I remember the date and time that we received the phone call that nothing was available, they still took my money and lied. I hope this place isn't doing this to other people because that is messed up. DONT RENT FROM HERE. read more

Reserved a car and paid online, no problem. If you have a CURRENT credit card they don't accept that for the $250 deposit. Waste of time, waste of money that'll take a while to come back.. just overall disappointing. Current is a credit card but they consider it prepaid. read more

The representative verbally told me one price and I was charged a different price days later. I had prepaid a certain amount online and in person urged me that I needed to get the insurance and then told me a total cost only to charge me more than what it cost to rent the actual car. When I tried to dispute it they gave me the run around and then told me well the paperwork says this price so that's what it is. If you for some reason get a car from here then take a video when you get the car and when you turn it in. We were in a hurry the whole time and didn't and to top it off they charged me $125 cleaning fee! I would never recommend going thru Budget or Avis! They are affiliated! read more

The staff was great .. except 1 issue. I called to extend and an older guy wouldn't give me the same price for another week.. I show up to drop it off .. then I ask why they couldn't give the same price to extend and he says okay let's do it same older guy..why waste my time I had to come in and schedule someone to go out of their way to pick me up. Rented a standard suv from this location since it was cheaper than renting from ont. This location is understaffed, but the staff did their best. They acknowledged customers as they walked in and apologized for the wait. After a 15-20 minute wait, i was assigned a 2018 Dodge Durango GT AWD for my 1 week rental. Had more than 24,000 miles (which is high in my opinion), but it drives great. As long as the price is right, i will continue to come back to this location. read more

My mom rented a car from Budget in Florida and drove out to California to visit. When she was almost here she noticed a bubble in the side wall of the tire. We called Budget and spoke with Shane. He was very helpful on the phone and told us to come in the next morning and he would take care of it. We were already happy with the service, but the next day was even better. Shane was very polite and respectful. It was clear that he wanted to make my mom happy and feel safe. He was patient and kind. I had such a bad experience to start at the Redlands location that led me to have to go to this one...and I'm so glad it did!! Shane was absolutely amazing in helping me out! His compassionate customer service really made me feel like I would be taken care of here. He was fast being a busy holiday weekend, and let me to continue to be understanding with everything he was trying to work out so I can get my Vehicle for my trip. This location has been a godsend!! I originally reserved a truck and when I arrived, I was told that there was no truck to rent. I obviously was upset and left vowing to not do business with this company. I was told the news by Shane who was nothing but professional and sympathetic to the news he was forced to deliver. Bad service, specially the woman that works there, i would never rent a car here again. She told me I had to take the auto insurance they offer like something mandatory, even if I already had one but just liability, so I took the basic one, and when I got the receipt it says OPTIONAL services, so I ask there and then they told me it is optional because you can say no and sign and still rent the car, but she never gave me the option so now I have to pay for something that I shouldn't. It is an obligation for them to tell you the options you have as a customer, and this girl didn't. Be aware of this. read more

I wanted to go on a long drive with a rental car so I rented a mid-sized car from these folks. I put almost 4000 miles on it in two weeks. The car was nicer than the promised Malibu (Titanium Fusion) and after pre-paying on line I picked it up in a fast and smooth transaction. People were pleasant at the counter. After a horrible experience at another location,which ended with me not getting a car despite my reservation, I called this location. Despite the fact that I did not have a reservation, I was told they could have a car ready for me in a matter of minutes. When I arrived, I was helped by SHANE HOLT (remember that name. he is solely responsible for this good review) who took care of my needs quickly and with a minimum of fuss on my part. Made a reservation for a full-size vehicle. When we got there, guy at the desk says, "I'm sorry, we don't have a full-size vehicle. We're going to give you a smaller car." Uh, no, you're not. I reserved and paid for a full-size vehicle. When I asked why they didn't see the need to call me and tell me they didn't have what I reserved, he said he was busy. Not too busy to lose my business forever. Rented from this location before and it was a painful experience -- they did the same thing then, but I didn't have any flexibility and had to take what they had. No longer. Don't book a rental car with this company use Enterprise. This company will call and cancel your reservation the night before you were scheduled to pick it up. Anyone that is a faculty or student at UCR should go somewhere else. This company the employer the managers are a joke. Try any other location as we found a better cheaper deal with Ontario Airport rental car service . If you have somewhere important to be and need a car I'm advising you don't use this company . It was a most horrible experience. The line was long and when we finally made it to the counter the lady kept answering calls and making other reservations. I asked her if she could please stop since we were having trouble locating our reservation. She said it was at another location. I needed a rental due to my car being in the shop, and this was the only place in the area open on a Sunday that still had vehicles. I wish I had read these reviews before, as now I understand WHY they still had vehicles. First off, I started a reservation online but then decided I should call and make sure they actually have vehicles available. I'm told yes, they had cancellations so they have two cars. I inquire about the price, and I'm told a price approximately $25 than I was quoted online. WTF? So I ask why the higher price, and he says they are sold out online and repeats that he only has two vehicles due to cancellations (there were more than that in the parking lot, btw). Whatever, I didn't have much choice if I wanted to get to work on Monday, so I booked the vehicle. Double check the paperwork I'm signing to make sure they aren't charging me for extras (had a bad experience on vacation in Hawaii where they snuck in extra insurance charges I never agreed to). Everything said declined, so I initialed and signed. Fast forward to a day and a half later. My car is fixed, so I decide to return the rental half a day early and see if they will give me a discount for the early return. The guy at the counter says because it was more than 5 hours into the second day (it was 5 hours and 14 minutes, and I've never heard about this 5 hour policy bullshit anyway) he can't discount it at all. Asks if I want to bring it back the next day because "he feels bad". Whatever. I return the car anyway, as it's more convenient since I'm already there and don't need the car anymore. Turn the keys in, take my receipt, and am on my merry way. As I get to my car, I see that I was charged $22 for additional insurance. I swear to all I believe in, everything on the receipt I signed said declined. But the carbon copy has my initials and signature on it. I think they pulled a bait and switch on me with the carbons. All of this and the piss ant at the front desk had the audacity to say he hoped I would rent with them again. Screw you, dude. I won't ever rent from this location again. read more

I rented a vehicle for a vacation. Well on our way back there was a nail in a tire. We called roadside assistance and told them what happened. No one told me there were going to charge me $65 to Change a stupid tire and put a doughnut on. The customer service rep said to go to a budget car rental at an airport to switch the tire out. Well after getting there budget said they weren't going to change the tire they we're going to give me another vehicle. I asked if I was going to be charged for not bringing the vehicle with a full tank. They said yes $9.00 a gallon. I drove off with the doughnut to put gas. So the customer service rep who I spoke with didn't say I had to return the car with a full tank. I return the vehicle and no one said anything. A Month later I get a bill for the nail in the tire which is $25.00 plus $62 and change for the tire to be switched out. Never will I go through budget. Absolutely worst rental experience of my life. I had rented a vehicle from Denver to go one way to Riverside, at a cost of nearly $200. Arrived at this location hobo unloaded the vehicle, and returned the keys. I asked the check-in staff member where a trashcan was available as I had two fast food bags to throw away. They said not to worry about it and inspected the vehicle, mileage and took the keys. (What kind of rental company doesn't have a single trashcan on site????) I received the receipt reflecting the $186 that I had agreed to pay for using the vehicle less than 24 hours, only to find that nearly $300 had been charged to my credit card. trying to get a hold of someone at budget took more than side calls. They claimed that excessive cleaning with necessary and charged a $100 cleaning fee!!! No discussion, no evidence, no mess! Complete and utter bs for a crappy car that had over 25k miles on it and was not exactly sparking When I picked it up. Total crooks at this location, stay away!!! read more

Gave away rental that was already paid for due to myself being 1 hr late to pick up. Without a courtesy call. Spoke to customer care they advised that the car should have been held for 15 hours and a courtesy call made before releasing reserved car. Counter rep at this Avis location said they only hold for 1 hour and do not do courtesy calls. All opposite of what customer care said the policy is. read more
