Drove it to Norco, back passenger door was making ungodly noises that had this mama concerned for the safety of her kids in the back, so I called over and the female rep (only person I did not catch the name of the-sorry!) was super nice and efficient, told me to bring it back no problem. I get back and she has me on the list for an exchange, no questions asked by any of the staff, just a simple "we want you to feel comfortable and safe in our cars". Love this. While I was waiting for the exchanged van I was able to witness an exchange between Lawerence and an older lady over a pair of missing shoes she had left in a rental some time ago. Lawerence was so nice and patient with the lady (mind you I'm just listening to the whole exchange and wanting to bang my head against a wall). The lady wasn't mean or anything, but she just repetitive, not comprehending what was being said, etc etc during what was approximately a 15 minute exchange.... So my Ford was exchanged for a Mercedes-Benz van... It looked so nice and I felt it was for sure an upgrade *but* I actually turned it down due to it being a diesel and with fuel prices being what they are/the duration and distance I would be driving it. Since we were picking it up close to my wife's work we decided to ride together so she could go to work and I would just take the car home. We get to the counter after 10 minutes waiting and let the guy know we were there to pick up a car and had a reservation. The guy says they have no cars available. We were like why when we had a reservation. He says because we didn't prepay for the car there is no guarantee they would have one. We stated again that we had a reservation and again he says we should have prepaid but he would give us a call when one comes in. We asked when would that be and he could not give us a definite answer whether it would be that day. He said they don't guarantee a car just with a reservation because they don't know if the person is going to show up. Well if they made a reservation then 99% of the time they are going to show up or at least call in advance to cancel the reservation.
