My boyfriend also liked him. He made more sense than another guy we had come out and do an estimate for us. And because he made more sense, we called to get the ball rolling. Contracts were sent to us via email and Chris stayed in contact through calls and texts to let us know when he'd be able to get the job done. It hindered on the job he was working on, whether it was done on a certain day or not so we didn't have a definitive date and time for our trees.. but he stayed in contact to reassure us and keep us up to date. The guy actually trimming the trees is very good, but the helpers hauling away the cut branches were not as careful as they should have been. By pulling/dragging branches that were too big through our gate, they actually pulled wood off the 4X4 gate post, made several large scratches along our wooden gate, and also broke off a branch from a flowering shrub as they pulled the cut branches through to the front yard. (This could have been avoided if the branches had been cut smaller for haul-away!) If the removal of the cut branches would have been done with the same level of care as the tree trimming itself, this would be a 5 star review. However, now we're left with damage to our gate, long after the tree trimming is over. read more

Had two trees and multiple saplings to remove as well as three trees to be trimmed. Estimator was on time and professional. Wrote a very detailed quote from which I decided to move forward. Was contacted with a date to perform service which didn't work for me. I proposed several alternatives and was pleased to find that my most desired work time was available and scheduled. Was given a 30 minute window for the crew to show up which they hit perfectly. All the work was completed quickly and without issue. All the brush was removed and the entire work area was cleaned up better than when they arrived. Quoted price was the price charged even though I was unable to open a quicker path to the street for debris removal to which we'd agreed. Will use them again and would recommend. Bud's Tri-County Tree Service was the talk of the neighborhood due to the speed with which they removed the 38 year old willow from my front yard and ground up the stump and roots. I asked that they leave the limbs and trunk so we could use it for firewood. Was glad I had them leave it as I was feeling guilty for removing the tree. In cutting it up and splitting it I found out that the tree had a lot of rot that was not visible. So a questionable decision turned out to be a very good one. read more

We are so pleased with Bud's and the work they did for us yesterday! We had 2 palm trees, a pecan and a cedar to remove, all over 4 stories tall and surrounded by power and phone lines. We got 5 bids, all near 10K and talked to some that did not even want to attempt the job. We chose Bud's as our consultation with Stacy left us feeling confident in their abilities and we like to do business with local West Sac businesses. Our job was huge, requiring a crane and city permits to block the street. City permits can be a pain and Stacy fought to get ours processed. When the crew arrived for the job it was like a well oiled machine. Entire crew seemed to know what they were doing with little direction, they were on it! Everything was completed and cleaned up in a day. My pics do not do justice to the huge scale of this process but I wanted to share some. Bud's Tri County wasn't the cheapest bid we got but we went with them because of their high level of professionalism and the trouble shooting they did to work around our cramped backyard. We had 4 mature trees removed and stumps ground down. They were in an out in 4 hours and the supervisor was on site the whole time and the work was done exactly as we requested. The more I looked at my back yard, the more I want to give "Chris" a negative five stars. The tree removal service was excellent and they did a fantastic job. Five starts no doubt. My gosh, they charged me an arm and a leg. I don't mind the cost if it was for my benefit. Chris only cared about getting my business but he did not think for me. I asked him if I should remove two huge trees in my backyard. Of course he told me I should and now my house is without shades AT ALL. Then I was dump enough to ask him to come back a year later to plant two new trees to replace the old ones and he just randomly picked two spots and now the trees limited the space where I can put furniture in my back yard. Sure, the service was great but expensive and Chris gives horrible advices. I am so angry at myself for listening to Chris. He was nice and friendly but just don't give good advice. read more
