They cut down an 80' palm tree, pruned 6 others, pruned 6, some very large, oak trees, pruned 3 ash trees heavy with mistletoe. From start to finish, I was very impressed. Chris did an excellent job in bidding and coordinating the work to be done. During the 2 days of work, he stopped by many times to check the status and followed up when the job was completed. I had 2 climbers the first day. One (sorry, I don't recall his name) did the pruning of the trees overhanging my river bank. Good job! The other, Jesus, was more comfortable working in the trees than on the ground. Incredible worker! They all were! From clean-up to pruning.....no one goofed off. They worked hard the entire 2 days and they completed everything I was hoping for plus more. I will definitely use them again. The only suggestion I have: tarps should have been put down below the ash tree/mistletoe pruning. The small rock landscaping underneath collected a lot of debris which proved a challenge to remove. read more

My mom just used Bud's for the second time. This is such a well-run business. Every staff person we interacted with was friendly and professional. Their communication is great throughout the process- from scheduling an appointment to get a quote through checking in a few days after the tree was cut down. We got a bid from another company that was $100 higher, and they told us we'd need to treat the stump so the tree wouldn't grow back. When Chris came to give us a bid, he said the type of tree we wanted cut would not grow back from the stump so it didn't need to be treated. During the last wind storm one of our 17 year old Elm trees split in half, from the top. We were able to brace the tree until someone could come as this occurred on a Sunday. I called Bud's first thing on Monday morning. I received a very prompt response and within 2 hours I had a quote. Originally I was told they'd be unable to do the removal until later in the week. However circumstances changed in our favor and they were able to come out the same day and do it! The crew came, and within 2 hours the tree was down completely and removed from the backyard. The stump removal guy came the following day. We are so thankful to Bud's for helping us so quickly, and at such an incredibly reasonable price. In fact, I was expecting our quote to be significantly higher than what it actually was. This is an amazing company and group of guys! I would highly recommend this company! It couldn't have been much tighter and nothing was hurt! They did great work. We had a large pecan tree that was right between the house and a fence and it was removed safely and with respect to surrounding areas. Also three large decaying birch trees in front that were removed. Everyone was polite, respectful, showed up on time and were efficient with their work and cleaned up when they were done. They also were able to work around my schedule and pencil me in quickly. Bonus was that they not only liked my dogs but my dogs liked them. Everyone I met was professional and I have no complaints. I had searched through many companies and talked to quite a few people as well, not to mention had a very bad unprofessional run in with a local company Alliance Tree service. Other companies just wanted to thin it out, because they cared about the trees feelings more then my families safety. Bud's Tri County Tree Service, came out right away checked it out and gave us a really fair proposal. Came back out when they said they would and did a great job, they trimmed the tree just right and ground down a stump in the back yard as well. They also called to follow up, to make sure all was well. These guys are amazing, fast, and very professional. We had an 80' to 100' pine tree in our back yard that needed to come out. They were the most reasonably priced for such an enormous job. Doug was extremely knowledgeable about the tree and walked us through the whole process step by step so we knew exactly what and how the removal would take place. This was not an easy removal either, we had power lines right next to the tree, and phone lines in the path of where they needed the tree to fall!! I highly recommend Buds Tree service. I was able to send a video of the trees we wanted trimmed in order to get a quote since I was not able to stay home from work. Once I approved the quote, Stacy came over before they started the work and we reviewed the scope. Stacy also gave recommendations to make sure our trees were cut correctly. My job was not easy, whereas I had five pine trees between 25 and 40 feet high next to my pool. The climbers expertly dropped these trees without any damage resulting. I contacted my city and they came out and explained what needed to be done and approved the one oak to be removed and provided me with a permit. I called for an estimate on removing one large oak touching my home and trimming 3 other oaks. Doug Hardtke came out to give an estimate which was competitivet. He was very knowgledgeable regarding oak trees. He and his team arrived on the next week to provide this service. They did an excellent job, they were professional and advised me what they were doing, had to remove a portion of fencing and put it back exactly as it was, cleaned the entire area surrounding the home and street. I requested quotes from multiple companies for a small job removing a small plum tree and trim lower branches from a sycamore tree. When I called I thought the sycamore was a maple and they said they would come out but if it really was a maple it couldn't be trimmed this time of year. My husband and I had been procrastinating for 5+ years on getting some huge evergreen trees removed from our front and back yard (both yards are pretty small). It just seemed like such a hassle and with very little space to remove such large trees- we didn't see how it would be possible with a built in grill, gazebo, etc surrounding these monstrous trees and nothing getting damaged or ruined. We called a few places and the bids were outrageous, almost $1000+ per tree (we had 7 total), there was just no way! We called other places and after reviewing our yard some didn't even return us with a bid, how frustrating! We once again put getting them cut down on the back burner. My mom finally did some research for us and found fantastic reviews on Bud's Tree Service here on Yelp. She called them, they came out the next day to check out the job and we had a quote the same night. VERY REASONABLE! $1500 for everything, including stump grinding, haul away, etc... and that wasn't even including the 10% off coupon you can print out on Yelp (just mention when you schedule your service and they take it off for you). They scheduled us for 5 days later- which I thought was very quick so we were happy with that. A crew of 4 guys showed up on time, worked non-stop until the job was completed and were very fast. I'd also like to mention this was one of the rare days in California that we had rain- and it was torrential rain at that. It didn't stop these guys from climbing 20-30ft up our trees, using chainsaws and the like in pouring down rain- they were complete professionals. I asked several times if they were ok to do this type of work in the rain and they said yes ma'am thats our job. I couldn't believe it! I felt bad they were working in those conditions but they were happy- I could hear them laughing and singing from outside the window with one another as if there was no ice cold rain at all. They were done in no time and I couldn't believe how different our yard looked. I can't even believe how easy it was and to think we waited all those years because we thought the job was impossible. I watched the whole time and was really impressed that the person doing the cutting really took his time to gauge what he was doing to make sure the branches came down right since some where near wires and my garage. I asked if I could have the mulch from the trees to put around my yards-so he left that and some from another job. I can't say enough good things about Bud's Tree Service. I contacted them on a Wednesday night about a large tree I felt should be removed. They looked at the tree on Thursday morning and removed it on Friday afternoon. When I got home there was no sign of the tree. No yard damage. Not a single twig or leaf left behind. I wanted to write in to let others know my experience with a simple phone call to these guys. First of all, the guy who called me back was rude and said 'it's our busy season and we are very booked'. So I guess I was a bother to them with the attitude I received. Second of all, I explained I had a palm tree that I estimated at about 25-30ft tall. He immediately said (in a way of trying to deter me from booking an on-site estimate) "Well, that's going to cost you about $4000.00." I explained that I could be wrong on the size and type of palm but the guy insisted I would be out 4K and if anyone else quoted me less than that then they didn't know what they were doing and would get 'in there and realize it was going to cost me more'. Very unprofessional, rude, and terrible customer service attitude. I would never recommend these guys to anyone and instead have said 'whatever you do, don't waste your time calling Bud's Tri County, they are a rip off and treat you like a bother'. I got two other quotes at $750.00 for my palm tree removal, I was told it is a Queen Palm and 20ft of brown bark and a common tree that is requested to be removed. read more

I had Chris give me an estimate on trimming back 8 podocarps bushes that were growing up into the power lines and shading too much of the yard. I scheduled the job and Chris' crew (Alvarro, Jordan and Oscar) showed up promptly to do the work. I received several bids on some tree removal ( old Talo that has roots pushing up my pool deck ) and thinning out a Birch. Chris of Bud's Tri County clearly was the most knowledgeable of the 3 taking the time to explain what needed to be done including applying a root and stump killing chemical that required special licensing to apply.
