We have been long time customers of Simply Fresh and enjoy their wines, prepared foods (sandwiches and soups) and produce. However, I stopped in today for one of their delicious sandwiches and it was an epic fail. I ordered the sandwich from Amy at the register and then waited for 25-30 minutes while orders kept getting walked up to the front, placed on the shelf or given to multiple Doordash drivers. I asked Amy for the status of my sandwich several times but she seemed uninterested and never even walked back to the kitchen to check on its status. Troubleshooting and customer skills are not part of her repertoire. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE FOOD PREP PEOPLE AND THE STAFF MANNING THE REGISTERS who are also the people eventually delivering your sandwich. Also, if the kitchen is backed up, the register staff should be aware of that and should be queuing the customer for that or at least asking if they have time to wait. All told between drive time to and from Simply Fresh along with hanging out in the store waiting for a sandwich that never materialized, I lost an entire hour out of a busy day. I was refunded my money and was given a perfunctory, luke warm apology but ironically left with an empty stomach and a bad taste in my mouth. Simply Fresh, for a premium market, you need to up your customer service and coordination between different staff units; i.e., the registers and the kitchen. This place is such a great health foods store! I love the fresh, clean ingredients, the creativity (like the cashew cup bone broth). There is a salad bar, soup bar and small, but yummy variety of fresh produce and most organic dry foods. They also have hot sandwiches, baked goods, limited meat case and coolers with probiotic drinks, shots and vegan treats. They also have zingermans bread. 4 stars since it's *very* pricey. I appreciate how it's local and mostly organic / healthy. I can walk in confident that almost all will be a good choice. I recommend the cold tuna pasta salad! There are also some great little pretzel / peanut butter / chocolate things that are delish but packs a price tag at $12. There is nothing special about this market other than absurdly high prices. Every time I HAD to shop there, I was amazed at the absurdity of their prices. We only go there when it is an absolute necessity, due to time, because it is very close by. Last time was for a couple of items, which included a $9.00 cabbage! Can you believe that? $9.00 for a head of cabbage. Organic? Hard to say, but it was wrapped very tightly with a heavy duty plastic wrap. Nothing special about it, other than all off the brighter green outter leaves were removed. $3.00 per pound for russet potatoes? $3.99 for 10Lbs at Costco and they look like the same potatoes! $4.00 for 1 avocado! I found a sparkling beverage that's been soothing my morning sickness so I came back for more and they were having a buy 1 get 1 deal. So excited! I love this place. They have great deals on produce during mid of the week and they make great vegan carrot cake cupcakes made with just coconut cream and no rancid oils like canola, if you're looking for a nice treat. This is the only place that has fresh figs around here. The cold-pressed orange juice is the best thing ever. When i'm in Brighton going through the days itinerary, getting some real OJ is the best. They also have Zingermans baked goods, some organic bread loaves like sourdough, which is great especially if you don't want to drive all the way to AA for it. I've been here multiple times and each time they have lived up to their name! I came here most recently because I was looking to buy some fresh ingredients for an important meal I was making at home. Shane was a HUGE help! Super nice and informative - I ended up picking up some awesome scallops that were a huge hit! Ask for him if you need help with anything at all! He also showed me some samples of their home made soup and their award winning chili! Cute place but overpriced and not enough gluten free breads and choices. $17 for a small Greek salad, wow! They used to carry no more belly aching which is local gluten free bakery, but don't anymore, bummer! I can find same stuff at other stores for half the price. Love this place. The owner's philosophy is to favor local items and they hire knowledgeable people who are friendly. We love their prepared foods and specifically the kale caesar salad and the pot pie. It's not a place you can do all your food shopping but you can get pretty close. Produce section is well-stocked with organics, the bread is mostly from Zingerman's, and this year they expanded their meat section to include more choices. We eat Simply Freshs ready foods (TV dinners) all the time. This is a from scratch kitchen and a grocer. They do an exceptional job in providing interesting, quality food options! To me it is better then eating out because the food quality is better. We love it here! Simply Fresh is one of my favorite markets for fresh healthy food. I'm a daily customer for their soup and salad bar. I had a great experience at their wine tasting last night. Shelly is so knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the benefits of going organic with our wines, something I've been searching for and not easy to find in the Brighton area. She also had wonderful wine recommendations for our holiday dinners. The real surprise came after tasting some really nice organic wines that they cost under $20.00!! read more

Excellent produce and extremely helpful staff. As other reviews have stated, the prices are higher than the big box stores but the quality is 10 times better. You get what you pay for and this place has the best. The produce stays fresh longer at home because it is fresh when you take it home unlike the big box stores when you must use it the next morning or it begins to get moldy. Also has many Michigan made products. Love to support locally based business. Seems to also support local food banks and pantries. Part of the community. Will definitely continue to shop here. Super impressed...had lunch with my kids to go and check the place out....it was fantastic. Had salads from their salad bar...all were excellent. Very nice - I stopped in while driving through the area a while back. Actually, I was there before the store opened and welcomed me in with no problem or hesitation. The people working there were friendly and very helpful in selecting a few foods. There were some beverages in the cooler that I did not know the benefits of were explained. Lots of fresh looking produce and variety. Over-priced. Spent $21 on 3 items. Items were tasty and of good quality, but still over-priced. $4 for a lb. of organic apples. Normally, I can find organic apples for almost 1/2 the price. Store was ridiculously cold - owner said it was at 70 degrees to keep the produce from wilting. Love the fact that there's a produce-only venue in Brighton! Simply Fresh Market features many local MI products: Milford Spice Co., Carlson-Arbogast Farm beans, peas and lentils, Michigan honey, Al Dente pasta, Kenzoil, and other MI specialty products. It's the only market outside of A2 that carries organic yams, YUMMY! Its small size and location of make it extremely convenient. They offer an organic produce club, you can dodge in and pick up your pre-bagged goodies in a jiffy. I think they are doing a great job. They've starting carrying organic swiss chard, apples, oranges, bananas, carrots, celery and romaine, but I wish they had a few more items. It be nice to have organics available for all the dirty dozen fruits and veggies so I didn't have to travel to A2. They offer some great deals from local farmers in the summer: bushels of apples, tomatoes, and unique squash varieties. It's strongly recommended! read more
