Review for Gardens + Yoga: This place is A-mazing, I almost don't like to share it with people because it is so beautiful and serene. I recently started attending the Yoga on the grounds and it is life-changing. Chelsea is a great instructor and the beautiful garden adds to the calm, tranquil environment. I wondered into this little gem this afternoon and found so many little treats from succulents to large trees, the kitties roaming among the bushes and then I met Shari. She was so warm and personable and shared a few insights about her feather, fur and plant babies. I plan on bringing our Girl Scout troop here to share with them the joy of gardening and most likely continue to stop by for the occasional unique gifts. read more

I used to spend quite a bit of money on plants here that I couldn't find anywhere else. The previous owners, Steve and Donna always impressed me how much they cared about plants and about introducing new ones to San Diego. They worked their tails off, yet were consistently pleasant and helpful! Back then this place WAS an oasis! It was well-tended and watered, and it felt like the Garden of Eden. NOT ANYMORE! Desiccated, dead plants greet you when you arrive. Once lush plantings have been carelessly hacked back with no regard to aesthetics. Plants are no longer identified, except with the ancient information provided by the previous owners. So many plants are dead now! Just awful! I mean, come on, this is a nursery, where you SELL PLANTS. The garden is run down and shabby. Cookies and tea do not make up for the fact that these new owners have dropped the ball on this once fine nursery, and it is a shame and a pity. read more

What a beautiful and whimsical garden. The new owners Shari and Steve are hard at work trying to bring the gardens to a place people feel welcome and comfortable visiting, exploring and planning their own landscape and gardens. There is a large selection of plants suited for S. Cal. weather and expert information on how to take care of your new plants. Also a nice selection of pots and garden art. You will be greeted with "Hi", "Hello", "How are you." and "Can I help You." as you walk through the gardens by the group of Parrots that are part of the colorful gardens. This is truly a unique place. They also do Weddings and get togethers with music. I love to stop by during the week and take a stroll around the gardens. I always find something new to add to my garden and feel so relaxed after spending time there. read more

Absolutely beautiful garden with so much personality. This charming hidden gem has unique and afordable plants and garden decorations! Once you enter the garden you will be surrounded by nature and organic plants to purchase for a perfect garden of your own to start at home. The parrots will say hello and welcome you in! The dogs are so friendly and the cat is so sweet! We were fortunate enough to meet the new 2 day old baby goat on one of our visits! The husband abd wife owners are extremely kind and welcoming! This is an inspirational garden. What a lovely way to spend a morning meandering through and identifying all the wonderful plants. Very tranquil. They also seem very friendly. I was able to find a native plant here that I couldn't find anywhere else. I will be back! read more

I think that the gardens are for sale. There are no signs, labels or prices on the plants so it was a total bust for plant buying for us. I'm giving it three starts that though unkempt it is an interesting space to wander around with there are goats, dogs, parrots and cats to see. read more

This is probably one of my favorite nurseries. It's previous owners, Steve and Donna, were sadly forced to move out of this place and to Washington, and now Shari and Steve own and run it. This place is amazingly quirky and unique. Visions of succulents growing out of teapots, twinkle lights swirled around and intertwined in the branches of old oak trees, cats lazing around the gardens, and a welcoming table of cookies, scones and tea are all things which you will come across when visiting Buena Creek Gardens.This place is so soothing and cleansing. The sounds of large wind chimes resonate in ones ears as they stroll the paths of this multi-acred nursery. Along with it's relaxing qualities, Buena Creek Gardens carries quite a wide range of selection, and if they don't happen to carry something that you want or need, they promise to make quite an attempt at hunting it down for you to pick up on your next visit. They have peacocks running around and gorgeous tropical birds not to mention raspberry ice tea, coffee, fountains, butterfly garden- you will be imporessed- get past the parking lot and you wont be sorry!!! It's nice to just wander through the 4-acre gardens or sit and meditate in one of the many shady-garden seating areas, but I usually find something unique to add to my garden. Today it was some succulents. Their prices are very good, and the selection is very different than what you find at other nurseries - including several plants I've never seen elsewhere. I have been there many times in the 4 years I have lived nearby, and had seen the peacock and macaw, but only today realized they have a dozen more tropical birds behind the office. Also, the newly-completed patio dining area and bar is a great venue for small weddings or parties. The canopy of trees and bamboo definitely transports you out of the ordinary into a different world. Today there was a small group talking and drinking wine in the butterfly garden; there were several little girls enjoying a birthday party; the owners were hosting their monthly "potluck" with a large spread of food to enjoy. It's kind of a cross between a park, display gardens, and retail nursery. I will definitely continue to return. read more

This is one of the nicest nursery atmospheres you'll find in North County. A hidden gem among nurseries. Do take some time to wander the paths, enjoy the whimsical items set about the garden, watch butterflies flit and hummingbirds feed. The garden areas are arranged so that you can envision how you want your garden to be. Are you concerned with using low water? Do you want to attract birds? Butterflies? Do you have a lot of shade. Such a beautiful place, and with a wide variety of plants. The owners are very helpful, too - - and other customers are sometimes also friendly and helpful. It would be fun to spend more time here! Last time I was there, I noticed that they offer the site for weddings, etc. You can find some of the more exotic plants here, as well common ones. read more

This place is huge! There was 1 worker there tending to the property, pretty laid back, just let us wander around while he continued w/ his chores. They have a LOT of planters and just all sorts of unique stuff! Fun to look at and also you can buy them if you'd like. They also have quite a few parrots in cages and will greet you :) There pricing is about average of what we've seen so far in north county. Cool place! read more

The staff and owners are friendly and knowledgeable. They spend time to listen and answer all questions about plants. They were honest and helpful. They quickly delivered what we bought. The plants we bought are flourishing. They are not a commercial nursery with rows and rows of the same plant, so email if you are looking for a specific plant. They have drought tollerant selections. Beautiful nursery located on 4 acreas of blooming iris, day lilies, mature flowering shrubs and trees and succulents. The owners propagate seeds and cuttings of the plants and are very helpful with your selection. Quaint cottage to relax and have some complimentary coffe and tea. Take some time to roam the gardens and enjoy the view. The owner has set up still lifes from unique decorator items collected at resale stores and garage sales throughout the garden. A peacok, some macaws and feral cats live in the garden. They also sale unique, handmade ceramic and clay items made by the people who work in the garden. A wonderful place to set up your easel and create a masterpiece reminiscent of Monet's garden. read more

I love this venue! My sister and I are coordinators and this is such a unique and fun space to work with. The owners are great, very laid back and funny. My sister got married here in 2013 so we got to walk around a little bit, but it's a whole new experience coming in the day time. The gardens are huge! There are little corners and hidden areas everywhere, and the place does not lack in charm. You can visit with the goats, the parrots, the cats, or just walk around and take home something new.
