My first visit was to purchase a lemon tree. He told me they would be getting a new shipment on a certain date and to come early to get the best ones because they sell out. He was the son of the original Clausen family owners and he was so nice and helpful. I went back on that date and got a lovely Meyer Lemon tree. Sadly he told me that the state of CA is making it extremely difficult to own and operate nurseries in the state and they do their best to keep trying! The prices are amazing, believe me!!!! I almost hesitate to share this with anyone :)! They are my go-to place for sure! I went back a month later to get a lime tree and a pomegranate tree and was helped by his son, the grandson of the Clausens. He was so sweet and knowledgeable and happily answered my (dumb) questions. read more

In the same location since 1930, Clausen is a must visit if you are looking to enhance your fruit tee game! With an ever-rotating stock of fruit trees, nut trees, and berry bushes, Clausen is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable individuals who will gladly share their expertise with you. The prices are lower than large nurseries and home improvement stores by a significant margin for a similarly sized tree. Value, selection, variety, and service leave those other places in the proverbial dust. We took home a Satsuma Mandarin, Santa Rosa Plum, Somerset Apple, Pomegranate, Strawberry Guava, Passion Fruit, and Apricot trees. Did I mention we wanted to enhance our fruit-tree game? It's been approximately three weeks since we visited Clausen Nursery and our trees are thriving and doing great. We are looking forward to watching our orchard mature and produce. This is an amazing family owned nursery that we whole heartedly recommend! We have driven down from OC twice to buy trees. They have great prices and friendly service. If you live nearby this nursery you are so lucky! Find a spot in your yard to plant a fruit tree and you will help the environment and be so happy to pick your own fruit. My friends are so excited when I give them fresh oranges, grapefruits, limes & avocados! You'd be surprised how little space you need for a tree. They will thrive here in so cal. Just excuses and the trees I saw where not that good looking. cheap prices and excellent selection. Was told about them from a friend. make sure you get confirmation before you go here. Found this nursery on my hunt for a citrus tree. A little out of the way but they have a great selection and excellent prices. No parking lot, so just park along the fence and walk in. We went to Clausen Nursery about 2 years ago when we were landscaping our property and we bought 13 different fruit trees (apples oranges limes lemons avocados peaches) and 2 years later they are all thriving and fruitful! Late review - I came 6-14-20. I'm very glad I came here after looking at different nurseries' reviews. The people who work here are so knowledgeable & they don't talk down to you nor rush you away. I ended up being too excited so I got 3 plants: wurtz avocado, mango, & a raspberry. They even let you sample some things, so I tried a pineapple guava. I want that next & the Anna apple tree which is found in Israel. The mango & avocado tree were $76 each & $6 for the raspberry. Don't get too happy like me and not bring the appropriate car. I used my suv when I should have brought the truck. Would have kept my trunk cleaner lol. The guy there also helped us put the plants in the car, but come with someone strong as welll. My husband got an avocado tree after looking all over town. Finally, someone told him to try Clausen and he saw so many healthy and thriving trees he was tempted to buy more. The prices are also very reasonable, unlike some big chain that advertises all over the county. And the staff is friendly and helpful. I find myself coming back here way too often for the friendly staff, extremely fair priced plants, and the occasional rare varietals that pop up for sale. They have a wealth of knowledge, so I learn a thing or two every time I stop by. Wow!! What a GREAT nursery! From the minute I walked in, the nice older gentleman walked me around to show me all the various fruit trees they had! And they had plenty of fruit trees to choose from all at a very reasonable price! I came home with mulberry tree, 3 raspberry plants and a persimmon tree.
