I never thought plants could be so cute until I walked through this nursery!! The retail section was closed, (I got there kinda late) but by luck the manager (Johnny, I think) popped out to greet me and directed me to miss Patty anyways. Both so sweet.. I'm new to succulents and cacti and if you are too, THIS is the place to go.. hidden gem :) he walked me down a little ways through the nursery til I got to where I needed to be.. now I cant wait to force my husband and grumpy friends to walk around this place with me when I have more time! read more

I promise my 10 year old that today (Sunday) I'll take him to a cacti nursery, well most of the nurseries are closed on Sunday, luckily we found this one in Vista and I'm glad we did! The lady that was working in there was super nice , helpful and informative about the plants, they have good prices and they even gave us a free Aloe plant with our purchase. This is a real hidden gem In Vista! They offered a Great selection and very friendly, knowledgable staff. A must see place! It was worst the 45 minute drive. I will Also be joining for a succulent workshop and will post photos of my next visit. read more

We had an amazing visit to Rancho Vista today! It was our first time going to this nursery and the succulents/ cactus are absolutely stunning. We traveled from laguna niguel and met the owners who were also from laguna niguel! We bought several different items including a Saguaro Cactus they pulled right out of the ground. Beautiful grounds and well kept plants. We will definitely come back and had a great visit. read more

This nursery is open on Sundays!! Although it was a very hot day, I went in search of some new succulents to plant. I came across this place, and what a find! This is mostly thanks to Jill and her refreshingly welcoming demeanor! She has a great deal of knowledge and is willing to share that with anyone who has a question. She pointed out several choices to meet specific needs of sun/shade and other needs! Jill made this a great experience and a memorable one! Great selection, though on the weekends only a portion of the nursery is open to the public. I was interested in drought-tolerant plants, so this place was a slam dunk. They have a huge selection of cactus, agave, euphorbia, etc. including some very small and very large specimens. Prices were a tad high, but the plants were very well cared for with clear attention to detail. I was able to find some very rare, large agaves as well as some beautiful barrel cacti. Only one person on staff when I visited, but he was very knowledgeable and outgoing. We chatted for quite a while about different plants and I learned a good bit of new information. Definitely worth checking out. read more

If you love cacti and succulents, you'll love this place. We couldn't have asked for a more friendly welcome from Jillian and her two little dogs. I could have spent the entire afternoon touring the grounds and talking with her about the plants. Jillian was very helpful in pointing out succulents that would be appropriate for our garden. This place has a really nice variety of succulents and cacti that you don't often see. I went to the retail location as one part of it is only open to trade. Succulents from large to small and really nice pots as well. I always bootleg these back to NYC since you can't find the variety out east. Good spot, I'll be coming back next time. read more

Up a hill and around a tree... I saw the ad in the local coupon book. I got a free aloe vera plant because if this. The staff was knowledgeable and helped us find what we needed after explaining and showing pictures of our vision. They informed us of the name of the plants we got. I got a few small succulents for an indoor table arrangement. It's a little on the expensive side. $25 for trees compared to $20 palm trees a few feet away at another nursery, but our tree wasn't a palm tree. read more

I found this nursery through an Instagram account and decided to stop by on one of my trips to San Diego and it did not disappoint!!! When you first drive in it's kind of confusing as to where to go, but when you kind of focus you'll realize that there are signs directing you to the top of the hill where they have parking and an office, which are also right next to the houses that are open for the public. There are 10 greenhouses total that are open to the public and I spent a total of maybe 1 1/2 hours looking through them but I definitely could have spent longer!!! They had an amazing variety of succulents and cacti, everything very well cared for!!! They're organized by size to make shopping easier. Every employee I came across was really nice and asked if I was doing ok. The manager, Johnny, helped me a good deal and he's the best!!! Extremely friendly, very very knowledgeable and eager to help and helped point me in the right direction more than once. I even showed him pictures of succulents I had at home so he could tell me the names of them and he wrote it down for me, then wrote down the names of the succulents I bought so I'd know those too!! It was so nice to go to a nursery where the employees know what they're talking about, the plants are VERY well cared for, and the selection to choose from is ample. I bought 2 2 inch succulents, 2 3 inch succulents, and 1 4 inch and my total came to just $16, so I'd definitely say it's more than fairly priced. I'm not from the area, but next month when I'm visiting again I'm definitely making a note to stop in and pick up a few new succulents. Overall very pleased and impressed with my visit! read more

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Rancho Vista with my daughter in law. We were starting a lanscape project from scratch and she wanted to do a variety of cacti and succulents. The two charming ladies in the front office gave us the lay of the land when we first arrived, as well as, helped us with plant selections, installation suggestions, and care instructions. As we meandered through the 10 green houses open to the public, we were amazed by the size and variety available. One of the greenhouse workers was very informative and helpful too. This place is a neat gem you should check out. I recommend checking out all the greenhouses to see what's available first. They also have carts and wagons to put you plants on while shopping. read more

I've been to the Rancho Vista cacti whole seller before but it's always closed due to it being a whole seller. BUT they had another side shop right next door open on weekends when I can actually go shopping. This is where I met "Jill." She was so kind and welcoming and didn't mind to walk us through the garden area introducing us to the different type of succulents. We can tell she was so sweet and wanted to buy some cacti but our kids had to go to the bathroom so had to rush out. I had mentioned earlier that I wanted to buy an aloe cactus which I didn't have time to buy but she brought 2 over for us. Her customer service is superb and now she has me referring all my friends to go and buy. I am going to go back myself to buy some more beautiful succulents just because of her. Thank you so much Jill for making our Saturday afternoon so sweet and special for the all of us!! I'll be back this week. read more
