My friend and I stopped in her for her birthday caffeine on a little weekend get away. I got an iced London fog and she got a coconut coffee of some kind. We were both absolutely BLOWN AWAY. Our drinks were superb!! Just the perfect balance of everything. We also got 3 pastries, a cupcake, a lemon poppy baked good of sorts, and a savory pastry. They were all incredible! They gave my friend her coffee and drink for freee too, please a little candle, because it was mentioned that it was her birthday. So sweet!! The interior of the shop has basically no seating, but there is some outdoor seating, and there is a fair amount of parking in a parking lot. I think we will ALWAYS return here read more

Perfect spot to stop for pastries and sandwiches before a long day exploring Olympic! Prices were great for the size of the pastries and the chocolate chip banana bread was a favorite. First, the savory bread with spinach and roasted garlic was delicious. My husband wanted a breakfast sando with meat, but they'd sold out, so he got the veggie one. He was disappointed. But the biggest disappointment was the cinnamon roll. It was dry and had very little cinnamon flavor, no glaze, very little yummy bits. I couldn't eat it. Very nice bakery up the hill from the main downtown area of Port Angeles. Definitely more of a local crowd here; many fewer tourists make the trek up here. Line can get long at peak hours but I think that's a good sign. The owners and employees are super nice. They have a good selection of pastries and baked goods as well as some more lunch-y items. They also sell coffee beans and some branded merch. There are a few counter seats inside plus some picnic tables nearby outside (not sure if they belong to the bakery specifically?). read more

Lovely gem in Port Angeles! After picking up food from remote places and random convenience stores around the Olympic peninsula for the last few days, we were craving for fresh bread, pastries, and coffee. Buena Luz is so cute! Creative coffee flavors with fresh syrups, friendly staff, and fast service. We bought a loaf of bread that did not come sliced, so I asked if they would be able to slice it for us -- although they don't have a slicing machine, they sliced it by hand for us. It was so fresh that it was still warm! For breakfast I had the ham, egg and cheese served on a house made English muffin which was good, but the egg tasted microwaved. I also had a strawberry lemon muffin, not a typical combination of flavors but it was good, especially the top with the crunchy sugar. Excellent stop if you're heading up to Olympic National Park. Delightful to eat all of the goodies as a reward for hiking Hurricane Ridge. read more

Although I grew up near Forks, I only recently stopped by this bakery, on a whim, during a drive back home from a quick trip to our cabin on the Solduc, near Forks. First of all, I like the funky old building set at an angle to the road. Must have been an old gas station. Second- it was crowded and busy - which usually means their stuff is good. Note: but it is a very small space inside so if you're claustrophobic you might want to reconsider. I ordered a 8 oz. Vanilla latte, and my girls ordered a cinnamon roll and a bear claw. The pastries are excellent. Yummy, warm and delicious without being overly sweet. You can tell they are high quality & well made. The coffee was also excellent. We stopped here on our way to Olympic National Park. We ordered the cinnamon roll and egg in a biscuit. The cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had and I'm tough to please so that says a lot! It was warm, soft, moist and not too sweet- absolute perfection!! The egg in a biscuit was good as well but on the dryer side (to be expected since it is a biscuit). Came here twice during my stay in Port Angeles to snag food for breakfast. Overall, the baked goods (two savory, two sweet) were very tasty, but just a bit on the dry side. My family and I needed a later lunch after coming from the National Park at Hurricane Ridge. This bakery was in the perfect location and we made it just in time, 30 minutes before they closed for the day. I rain in to grab some of their "Grab and Go" sandwiches but they only had one left for the day and I needed 4 sammies. I chose 4 different options from their menu and waited for about 7ish minutes for them to make. The staff were sweet and respectful, the sandwiches and the ciabatta bread were amazing! We shared all four of them between the family, and they were all so good! Some may think the prices are higher but that's what happens when choosing quality ingredients and product. If you want something cheaper go to a fast food chain, I opted to support a local small business and invest in my heath with quality food. read more

Coffee: it was so good that we went back the second day. It was smooth, not bitter, like the single origin Ethiopia coffee. Five stars. Pastry: we got 5-6 of them. They are very good, specially the Jammer. The scone was huge but not dry. They were perfect in sweetness. Five stars. Sammies to go: sandwiches. First day, they were sooooo good, with the perfect balance of smear, vegetables and meat. The bread was cut perfectly, even on the top and bottom. They tasted so good that we went back on the next day for more. We were so disappointed in the sandwiches that none of us wanted to finish them. The bread was cut to 1:3 ratio, very thin on the top. The smear became 1/2 inch layer of cheese with very little green. The sandwich became so soggy from the cheese spread and over taken the tastes of the rest of the ingredients. How could four different sandwiches with almost the same tasting cheese fillings?! wanted to give them five star so bad because it is such a cute bakery. But the inconsistency of the sandwiches were just not good enough. 5 star customer service! read more

So lucky to have found this cute and charming shop! Perfect stop on the way to hiking (or work!). They have so many baked goodies, it was difficult to decide but went with the cinnamon roll on their recommendation and it did not disappoint!! So excited that this new bakery opened. Their 1st day soft opening was December 15th and I have stopped by everyday to try something different. Fruit muffins: Blueberry that day. Jammers: Buttermilk biscuits with jam baked in the center. Carrot cake muffin: With fresh cream cheese frosting. Loaf of harvest white: Made unbelievable sandwiches for lunch that afternoon. I'm looking forward to what treasure I might find tomorrow. Hoping to get my hands on one of their Cinnamon rolls.
