We stopped in while we were in town for a wedding and it was amazing!! We sat outside with our dog and were given a dog friendly menu where we ordered our dog the Luna luncheon and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was incredible, quick, friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious!! I'm sad we don't live closer so we could enjoy it again!!

The biggest and best breakfast! The mixed berry strussel my husband got was amazing! So was my scone but was sooo full from my scramble we had to take it to go! Great valve! I didn't have to season my scramble at all! Everyone is sooo nice! And the place is so clean! Simply the best!!

This is the CUTEST brunch place ever I love it SO much. The whole ambiance of the entire restaurant was just so perfect. Cozy cottage vibes all the way!! They also had a bunch of plushies and trinkets in the front that you could browse through while waiting for a seat. We came as a party of 4 on a Sunday morning and got seated within 20minutes. Now for the food. DELICIOUS. The portions were pretty large and the lattes we got were incredible (I mean just look at all that whipped cream). We came here a month ago and I still think about it sometimes. 10/10 will come back here if we are ever in Port Angeles again.

Wow, this was the best breakfast I've ever had in Washington! Portions were HUGE! We got the breakfast tacos, cottage wrap, mimosa flight, mocha and cinnamon roll to split. The cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had in my life! We came at prime Brunch time on a Sunday, and had about a ~15 minute wait. Food comes fast!

Popular breakfast/brunch spot in Port Angeles. I thought it was a decent experience but service was definitely slow. Don't expect this to be a quick meal especially during peak weekend times. My group of 4 came by for brunch Saturday morning around 11 am and it was hopping. Probably waited ~20 minutes or so for a table. While we were waiting, we had already perused the menu and knew what we wanted to get. However, after getting seated, it took us a while to get our server's attention to place our orders. It was a busy time for them, and they just didn't have enough workers on the floor. Everyone was running around looking super busy. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order as most of the options weren't super appealing to me (a lot of egg scrambles and omelets which I feel meh about). I ended up going for the bacon and brie scramble for $20.99. The unique thing about Chestnut Cottage is that with every breakfast entree, you can choose your choice of pastry. They offer a good variety of options, like muffins, coffee cake, scones, etc. After hearing all the daily flavors for each from our server, I went with the cherry strudel. The pastries came out first. It was nice to have something to munch on while we waited for our food. Each of my friends ordered a different pastry so I got to try a bit of everything. My favorite was my own - the strudel - as it came out warm, but the coffee cake was good as well, super light and fluffy. I personally thought the muffin and scone were just okay. Our mains came out after another 20 minutes. My scramble was good, but a scramble is a scramble so it didn't really wow me. I also enjoyed the hash browns on the side which were very crispy. Weirdly, one of my friend's dishes, the pulled pork lodge, was served without hollandaise sauce. One of the main reasons she ordered it was because she wanted the sauce, so it was disappointing to see that it was missed. It took a while for us to call our server over and then another while for them to bring out the dish with the sauce on top. Like I said, service is VERY slow here. Between the mains and the pastry, portions are huge. Most of my friends weren't able to finish their food and packed the leftovers to go for later. We were probably here for close to 2 hours from start to finish, from the waiting to leaving after paying the check. I know Chestnut Cottage is a super popular spot for brunch in Port Angeles, but personally I fail to see the appeal.

Bomb breakfast! Everything we ordered was so tasty and generous portion! Especially love the coffee cake (huge slice) and my husband had country fried steak said it was the best one he had in a while. Our waitress was super lovely and kind as well. She made sure to double check my coffee cake had no coffee (I know I just learned today too!) Will definitely visit again next time we are in Port Angeles.

After being sat at a table, just outside of the kitchen door it took almost ten minutes to get a glass of water. Also, the waitress was delightful. The food itself was less than exceptional.. the barbecue bacon burger almost no barbecue sauce on it and the best part of that meal were the onion rings. The chicken sandwich had no flavor and was actually quite wet.To include the bun, it sat on. This scone, however, was warm and the jam that came with it was heaven.

Bloody Mary, mimosa flight, cinnamon latte

We went here while visiting Port Angeles and Olympic National Park. This is a busy, homey restaurant vibe. We really enjoyed the Bloody Mary, which came with a piece of bacon. We also liked the mimosa flight, which had 4 different flavors. By far the most liked item was the house made cinnamon roll. It was so freshly baked and fluffy, soaked in a perfect syrup. It was great because the cinnamon roll was one of the choices for sides included in main dishes. The egg scrambles were delicious as well; we asked for a side of their chipotle hollandaise to add on top, which we highly recommend!! They also can make the crème brûlée French toast gluten free.

A spot with a classic cozy breakfast feel. Nothing sparkly, but great basics with a family vibe. We had fine options as vegetarians and left full and content! But definitely leaned on the bland side of things, thankfully there were all the hot sauces, s&p, and ketchup an eater could need. Sweet servers make it feel like home.

Coffee cake and apple walnut scone

I came back to this spot for this scone! It's served warmed with a side of butter and a jelly. We got the quiche, but it seems a bit lackluster, bland. More seasoning and more veggies/cheese in a quiche would've made it better. Service was fast. Go try to the pastries !!!

Traditional Breakfast with pancakes & Montrachet Scramble
    Tiana D.

Stopped in for breakfast on a holiday Monday for breakfast and there was a bit of a wait around 9:45. Portions are extremely generous and we definitely couldn't finish it all. The Traditional Breakfast was great! I opted for pancakes instead of toast. They were a little dry and I didn't love them. My partner got the Montrachet Scramble and really enjoyed it.

A few things to correct your comments: - there were three tables were seated following me and they all got the dishes before me. One table with couple, one with four people and one at the counter. - the note I put on was not to the waitress blunt to you. I said specifically " lady with black shirt". Your tone made me felt that I shouldn't check what is my order status after 30mins wait. We came in around 9:30am Saturday and ordered traditional breakfast with French toast. Waited over 30mins, the later customers all got their dishes and next table finished theirs. When the waitress was checking with kitchen for us, a lady with black shirt came and said: "it normal wait for 30mins and you are 25mins now, still five mins to go". I am a bigger supporter of local small business, but I would appreciate if they can let me know when we arrived that waiting is 30mins after ordered. I still gave 15% tips as I can see the sorry face from the waitress - I normally pay min 20% for small business. I also noticed that we were the only Asian table during that period.

(balsamic vinegar goodness) Menu is somewhat small but they have a great Chicken sandwich that is perfection in crunch, best batter Ive had (since Oak in Seattle. I think it originally was the sister to Spruce but changed owners.?) The other star dish is pork schnitzel, tasty all around and I love the capers, the red cabbage side, it's not too big, so you can finish the meal. So come here for a small plate and specialty cocktails or craft beer night or a full meal. The only underwhelming item was the side of fries that come with the sandwich was meh, but they do have decorated ones you can order as side that might be more tasty.

Me and a group of friends (8 total) were visiting the Olympic peninsula for a camping/backpacking weekend and stopped by Midtown on a busy Friday night and were quickly seated. The food tasted good and we had great service during our visit. Since we were a large group, and already had shared expenses for the weekend, when asked about the check we offered to put everything on one tab to save time. Later on that night however, after we had set up our tents at our campground, my partner began to experience intense stomach pains which turned into full blown food poisoning. I spent the next several hours helping them, before I also got sick. It was at this point we realized that it was from the chicken sandwich my partner had ordered at Midtown, since I had eaten her last remaining bites of the sandwich and this was the only food we shared that other members of our group had not also eaten (we all shared food at lunch earlier in the day). My partner and I essentially spent the night in the campground bathroom (we are extremely lucky they had one). The next morning we were feeling depleted, dehydrated, and decided to head home to recover while the rest of the group continued on the trip. We spent the rest of the weekend trying to get food down. I called Midtown the next business day and let them know what happened for their awareness mostly. They thanked me and told me their policy is a full refund if something like this happens and that the group should expect it soon. We didn't hear from them or get notification of a refund so we reached out a week later and they said they forgot and now the owner would only provide a refund for me and my partner's meals and that they never offered a full refund. They said since we had "12 people" on the ticket they wouldn't do it (our tab for 8 people was $186 before tax and tip) but if we had a doctor's note that could change things. I promised them we weren't making it all up and that I've never gotten food poisoning from a restaurant or even left a bad review before! Tired of the gas lighting I decided it wasn't worth arguing and let them know this will have to be my first. It's a shame their management is unprofessional because our experience in the restaurant with the food and staff was nice.
