    Breakfast sandwich
    Wennie H.

Great service, nice interior- not too loud even when all tables are full. Started with the cranberry orange scone and it was pretty dry but had nice flavor, the breakfast sandwich was SO good, they gave me sausage instead of bacon but you can tell it's homemade, it had the best focaccia I've ever had- soft and light. The potato rounds were super crispy but still light and airy inside. So good! Breakfast burrito was hefty.

This was a nice place to start our day before our Olympic National Park adventures. We woke up pretty early since we were still used to East Coast time, so a lot of places weren't open yet. I love that they were open at 7am. We wanted coffee and a quick bite. We were seated immediately. There were quite a few other couples there too. I got an iced lavender latte that was way too sweet for my liking, but got the job done. My fiancé enjoyed his coffee. We decided to share their lox avocado toast. It was nice fuel for a day of hiking. We only tried a couple things and they were fine. I'd be open to trying other things on their menu!

New Day Eatery is usually where I'd go for a unique smoothie( so many wonderful concoctions) and the best suggestion for Vegan friends, as their vegan offerings are huge and extensive. However, they do also serve chicken or tofu bahn mi. My hubby tried the smoked brisket hearty salad which was pretty tasty. Desserts here are off the chart good, try to save room... Maybe by only eating half your meal as portions are huge. Sit outside for casual qr code order and your food is brought out to you, or have a seat inside for service, they also have a togo counter as well. Cute spot with lots of variety for vegans, vegetarians or carnivore meals, the whole group can be happy and well fed.

New Day Eatery - Port Angeles, WA Heading to Victoria, BC for their VegFest event by way of Black Ball Ferry from Port Angeles. If you're looking for vegan options in Port Angeles, wow ... New Day Eatery is THE place to be! They have a large separate vegan menu with Breakfast, Brunch and Sandwich options. Their vegan menu isn't the only thing that's large, as their portion sizes are huge! But wait, in addition to a large vegan menu, and an amazing variety of options with large sizes, there's ... more ! They also have an extensive array of vegan desserts available, cakes, scones, brownies and cinnamon rolls . We ordered a slice of both, their Peanut Butter Cake and their Espresso Cake. These can best be described as dense and very hearty cakes (as opposed to light and fluffy), absolutely delicious and one slice will fill you up easy! Side note, their bathroom is huge and so cheerful lol See, I told you this is THE place to grab vegan chow when visiting Port Angeles , you don't want to miss it!

We went to New Day Eatery before hiking Olympic National Park. We arrived around 8 AM and were able to get a seat right away. The restaurant has an industrial feel to it and has plenty of seating inside, with a small patio outside. The restaurant also has a take-away section, with baked goods at the front of the restaurant. To start, my husband and I ordered coffee. When my coffee arrived there was a wilted green leaf floating around in it (parsley? spinach?). I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she replaced my coffee right away. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was a bit bland; the arugula it came with was too oily for my liking. My husband enjoyed his focaccia sandwich, but did state how he wished it were bigger.

After a long drive to Port Angeles from Forks, I was ready to eat some breakfast. It was my first visit to this area and I spent the morning exploring the Downtown Waterfront District. I had heard good things about New Day Eatery and their food and decided to check them out. New Day Eatery's menu puts a creative twist on classic breakfast dishes. The lunch section of their menu has both vegan and meat options. Everything looked so good that I couldn't decide what to get. The drink menu is equally impressive. They have a variety of espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, juices and kombucha. New Day Eatery makes everything here fresh and from scratch. I got here right after they opened and was able to grab a table next to the window. I had a beautiful view of Port Angeles Harbor while I was eating. The host or bartender that sat me was a little on the grumpy side. But the server that waited on me made up for it with excellent service. For my meal, I ordered the Breakfast Benny and a Salted Caramel Latte. I not only love delicious food, I love food that has beautiful presentation. Everything was great and I enjoyed my time here.

    Breakfast plate with chicken sausage

We came for a late breakfast on Saturday around 1 PM and had to wait for about 15 minutes. There was two waitresses for the whole restaurant so service was a bit slow but we both enjoyed our breakfast. We got the breakfast plates, I got chicken sausage and my friend got bacon. She said her bacon was good, I would get that next time because the chicken sausage especially for the up charge was very underwhelming. But the biscuit was delicious. I also really enjoyed the crispy potatoes. They have a great selection of coffee and pastries as we just didn't happen to get me on this date, but definitely a cute spot for breakfast.

Food and service were great. Especially appreciated the availability of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian items marked on the menu. Staff was very knowledgeable about cross contact and serving gluten free food for those with celiac disease.

My review is based on a couple baked goods to-go. We stopped by to grab some baked goods to go, and had to wait for about 10 minutes since it's the same line for people ordering take-out. I overheard the hostess telling people asking for table of 2 the wait is 15-20 minutes (on a Sunday morning around 11:30AM). We enjoyed the Lemon Blueberry Roll and the Caramel Croissant Bread Pudding (ask them to heat it up!), 4.5/5 stars.

Tofu banh mi - delicious but cut yours in half!
    Kristen A.

I ordered linch to go, desperate for a solid vegetarian lunch in the road. I wasn't disappointed by any means but here are the highs and lows: Highs - The tofu bahn mi was legit. Fresh veggies, well seasoned tofu, soft bread. Well seasoned (while clearly frozen previously) fries. The coffee (I had an iced americano) was legit, really well made from clearly quality beans. Bonus points. Online ordering was easy, quite fancy for a place like this if I do say. Ordering to having it in my hands was under 20 minutes. Staff were super friendly and attentive. And they were communicating with each other very clearly. Lows - The bahn mi, while delicious, was huge and should have been cut into two for take out. It was super difficult to eat and I ended up pulling over and ripping it into to. The bread got super soggy after just a few minutes. Had they wrapped it in the paper they put at the bottom of the to go container, I think this could have been avoided (wrapped and cut in half in a perfect world) Zero sauces available for the fries. Not even salt or ketchup. Inside, while super cute, the floors were sooooo sticky. Like "are my shoes coming off?" sticky. All in all - I'd definitely eat that sandwich again but I'd ask for a different set up. But honestly, I'll probably go elsewhere for something easier to eat on the road.

Kids Brioche French Toast (with berries and cream).

Superb eatery in Port Angeles, just one block from the Ferry Terminal. We had just taken the Coho Black Ball ferry into town from Victoria BC, and the bracing ride across the Juan de Fuca Strait had made us all very hungry. I looked up Yelp for brunch options as soon as we were done with customs and this was one of the two places we could all agree on, and it was the closest! We were welcomed warmly and seated right away on a table inside, and we ordered hot drinks right away - they were exactly what we needed! My matcha latte was divine, and the others enjoyed their drinks as well. We ordered a variety of food - biscuit and gravy for our teen, French toast for the missus and our tween, and for yours truly, Everything Spiced Smoked Salmon Frittata! This was delish and I ate every last morsel! I then proceeded to help my teen finish her biscuit and gravy, which was flavorful and filling. Bathrooms were clean and service was friendly and efficient. We will happily come back next time we visit the area!

A few things to correct your comments: - there were three tables were seated following me and they all got the dishes before me. One table with couple, one with four people and one at the counter. - the note I put on was not to the waitress blunt to you. I said specifically " lady with black shirt". Your tone made me felt that I shouldn't check what is my order status after 30mins wait. We came in around 9:30am Saturday and ordered traditional breakfast with French toast. Waited over 30mins, the later customers all got their dishes and next table finished theirs. When the waitress was checking with kitchen for us, a lady with black shirt came and said: "it normal wait for 30mins and you are 25mins now, still five mins to go". I am a bigger supporter of local small business, but I would appreciate if they can let me know when we arrived that waiting is 30mins after ordered. I still gave 15% tips as I can see the sorry face from the waitress - I normally pay min 20% for small business. I also noticed that we were the only Asian table during that period.

They had to change the syrup for my soda, which took almost 15 minutes. When my soda arrived, it wasn't diet but the sugared version. No attempt made to fix this. When my meal arrived, the scramble ordered with egg whites only had bits of egg shell. I'm not sure how they got there, but it was I little like Russian Roulette as every third bit or so contained a tiny little egg shell piece. It was off putting. The potato hash accompanying the egg shell scramble was too greasy to have. Combine this food with a slightly combative server and you get a terrible and, in my case, unforgivable experience. Zero things went well and all of them went poorly. Breakfast for 2 was 60 bucks plus tip, and it's money I've invested in learning how much I do not care for Chestnut Cottage. 0/5, do not recommend
