Met up with a small group of friends for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't too busy, with only 2 other tables occupied. Once our entire table arrived (6 people total) and got situated, we had to wait a little bit until our server actually took our orders. To be fair, he was the only one working front of house, but by the time we ordered, we were the only table left in the restaurant. Throughout our dinner, server was very unprofessional. He sat at the front cashier desk and watched movies/videos and talked on the phone quite loudly. At one point, we heard the kitchen ring a bell numerous times to bring out our desserts, but our server was preoccupied on his personal phone. Now on to the food. The refried beans that accompanied most dishes was extremely salty. I ordered the Quesa Birria Tacos. Unfortunately the beef stew dip for the tacos was basically an oil slick with no flavor. When we paid our bill, our server disappeared to the kitchen and never returned again. Not impressed with the food or service. Best thing about this place is BYOB, with a beer store next to the restaurant and a wine/spirits across. read more

Quick breakdown is as follows: Pros: Friendly service and quick turn around to get our food (but we were one of only two tables there on a Friday for lunch). Cons: Price point for what you get isn't great value. No ice tea as drink option. Kind of a hidden gem in the back corner of the shopping center, you have to know it is there to find it. But when you do, it is hard to forget. The decor is bright and colorful. All the furniture is painted with bright Mexican images. On a recent Saturday night, three of us were able to get a table with no waiting, and it did not get too crowded either. The table started with some chips and guacamole. The guac was flavorful without being overly seasoned. Others at the table also ordered the tortilla soup in lieu of appetizers and said it had just enough kick without being overpowering. I ordered a chimichanga with asada and the steak was perfectly seasoned and tender. The rest of the chimichanga was lightly seasoned by elk cooked. I have had chimichangas with more flavors before. I'd have liked to have tasted more. But this was by no means poor. And the meat itself, as mentioned, was very good. Others at the table ordered different platters, with beef and shrimp respectively and said they were both tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices were slightly higher than other similar places I'd seen. But not overly high, especially in relation to the quality. Will definitely return. read more

This review is for the Exton location. My daughters and I have eaten there two times now in about the past 30 days and intend to eat there again. Located in the store that used to be the Mexican restuarant "Buho's," which we were so sad to see close around the start of Covid, this new place is a perfect replacement. We've had their tacos, enchiladas, burritos and, the last time, I tried their Chorizo Alambres which was TO DIE FOR! So good! They also make their own chips and they are crunchy, salty and baked to perfection, and thick enough so that they don't break off in the Queso or the Salsa! Ole!! Everything we've sampled so far has been great and our waiter, Ricardo, whom we've had serve us twice, is a very friendly and nice man. The decor is colorful, with booths along both sides of the room and tables with straight back chairs in the center of the room. The tables, booths and chairs are decorated with scenes of Mexico, and then heavily lacquered (I'm guessing!) and are really cute. The first time we went there, they were serving free small margaritas with each entree and that, my friends, was a very nice touch! Tasty too! A+ to this successor to Buho's and wherever the nice people of Buho's are now, I wish them well. Miss them but this is a solid replacement to their restuarant. One final note, I understand that there are 4 of these restuarants in the area, one other being in Malvern. I don't know the other locations but if they are all of this quality, I highly recommend! read more

I've also been back here at least once since that review, and they're holding up that 4 star ranking. The guacamole also had tremendous flavor albeit slightly on the salty side. It's time for you to know they're here. Lunch specials were kind of expensive, for it being lunch. There are much better places in the area to eat at like Los Tres Dominguez or El Limon. The lunch was edible, although very greasy. I would suggest elsewhere. The parking lot shares with the QVC and Giant parking lot so it gets very busy during lunch and hard to find a spot fyi. Food is tasty, portions are well-sized, and service is friendly. Meals are consistent in flavor, quality and appearance. Ingredients are good quality, fresh, and flavorful. Presentation is always cheerful and appealing. The menu is standard for most Mexican restaurants around. Their prices and portions are a little better (at least for our regular favorites) than El Tio, a little ways up 30. For my tastes, Buena Vista's sides are too spicey. I am not saying they are outrageous; I am sensitive to spice, but it is more pronounced here than all the other places we've been to in Delco and Chesco. Again, it is not crazy hot, but it is somehow a notch above the others, because I can handle the house rice, beans and salsa anywhere else around here (El Tio, El Limon, Taqueria La Michoacana, Coyote Crossing, Dos Gringos, Buho's, etc). Unfortunately, it is a deterrent for me, because I end up having to give a large portion of my meal to my husband. If they toned down the spice, it would be a much better experience for me. So just a head's up for those of you who, like me, like most Mexican flavors, but are just not built for spice. I will add that unlike a number of the other Mexican places mentioned above, Buena Vista DOES make Tres Leches the traditional way, and it is DELICIOUSO! So good! If you've never tried this classic Mexican dessert, you should, it is so good. Great value for the price, for sure! All in all, though, Buena Vista is definitely a good value for the money, and a reliable choice to get your Mexican fix in this neck of the woods. read more

We had dinner here last week while staying in the area. It was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The decor is colorful and makes for a fun environment. The service was incredibly fast. But the food was certainly the highlight. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were some of the best I've ever had. The chicken was moist and tender. I barely needed a knife to cut it up. Rice and beans were a bit salty but I ate every bit. My wife had the chicken flautas and really enjoyed them. My only disappointment is that we live an hour away. The food was bland, cold and no where near the portion size for the money that Buena Vista is. I will go out of my way 15 minutes to stop in to either dine in or take out of this Authentic Mexican Restaurant who continues to give Chester County some of the BEST Authentic Mexican food. Finally Paoli has a Mexican Restaurant! Good news everyone, it is tasty and I would recommend. We were greeted when we walked in. The restaurant is fast casual so they literally make the food fresh while you wait. I ordered the carne asada quesadilla while my wife ordered the chicken version. The cheese was real and nice and stringy, the beef was soft and full of flavor, nice balance with the mexican spices. My wife enjoyed hers and said, "Very enjoyable and a good deal for the price". We will definitely be adding to our rotation and gives us better options than Chipotle for Mexican cravings. read more

3 Stars We came here for lunch on a weekday and there were people lining up outside the doors for the restaurant to open. There are not many good Mexican restaurants in this area, but this one was somewhat decent. I live in Los Angeles so the Mexican food there is way better, but comparatively this is good for the Main Line. Decor The decor was very bright and colorful. It was somewhat cheesy, although a very fun atmosphere to eat in. The outer seats are boosters mostly where they seat you first. It has a strange arrangement and it seems weird for people to sit in the middle with others surrounding them while eating. Service The customer service was good, nothing special. Although people think that the chips and salsa cost money, they gave it to us and but did not charge us. They took the orders quickly and the food came out in good timing. Food I ordered tacos- lengua, tripe, and al pastor. It comes with onions and cilantro, which is the traditional. They make you pay extra for sour cream and guac. The al pastor normally only has pork and pineapples, but this one had onions and tasted overly sweet. The lengua was the best, but not that great compared to LA. the tripe was fine, tender and juicy but the seasonings were under. Overall, this was a fairly good Mexican place for an area not known for anything authentic. The meat was ok, and the flavors were more Mexican than a lot of the places around here. It is clearly not as good as LA, but it is hard to compare. For decent Mexican food this is a good place to come. read more

Came here for their lunch during the work week on the recommendation of my friend joining for lunch. The service was fine as the food came out as quickly as you would like during your one-hour lunch break. The salsa that came with the chips did not seem freshly made to me, which is a big turn off as I can easily go to the store and buy salsa; I come to restaurants to get fresh food. I ordered chicken fajitas, which came with peppers and onions on a nicely portioned platter. However, the flavor was fairly plain and underseasoned. Simply put, there are better Mexican restaurants around, especially living in Philly. Also, they would not honor the Yelp check-in coupon for 10% off. read more

We tried out the new Paoli Buena Vista location. It's located at the old Paoli Starbucks. My husband got the grilled chicken quesadilla and it was the smallest quesadilla we've both ever seen! It was more of a kids size. I got the carnitas burrito with rice, black beans, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. It was very filling which was good for my husband because I shared with him since he was still hungry after his micro-quesadilla! They charge $1.25 for guacamole. Kind of pricey considering how little is in the burrito. We ordered take out which seemed to confuse the woman on the phone. Apparently they want you to come in to order and then take out. Either way, our food was prepared as we wanted it when my husband arrived. We'll be going again for sure due to their timeliness and authentic tasting food. Horrible food horrible experience. Came in for lunch on a weekday. Ordered cheese dip and a shrimp burrito. After being promised the cheese dip for 15 minutes, both came out. Check out my pics. The cheese dip was from a jar and tasted like it was a gas station brand. The shrimp burrito had zero shrimp at least in the first third where I stopped. Their mole sauce is American BBQ sauce, be warned. I asked for the check and the manager came over. I gave her my feedback and she did the right thing, brought me the check and charged me only for my iced tea ($2), the untouched dip and 1/3 of a lousy (shrimp) bean burrito. I had no cash and tried to pay for my iced tea on a credit card. Manager told me that they would not accept credit cards for less than $10. I went to my car for cash, came back and tried to pay for my tea. Then the manager said a mistake had been made and that I really should have been charged for my burrito after all and presented me with a check for $12. UNBELIEVABLE. Certainly don't believe the word "authentic" on the menu. What a bunch of crap. read more

This was my first tiem here. What can I say, You can't please em all and I usually find the bad in everything but I can honestly say everything we ordered was downright delicious. I especially love all the Mexican sodas that get you all sugared up! I'm not sure why but Mexican Coke always seems to taste better. Salsa and Guacamole were excellent. Tortilla soup was tops. Beans were great and seasoned well. All the sauces were delicious and I even asked for more to drown my burrito in more deliciousness (especially like the Chipotle). Service was great. Very polite, and continually asking if we needed something, etc.. I went in with mediocre expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Granted the competition for authentic Mexican is pretty stiff in the Malvern area but I think they held there own for what we ordered. The rice and beans served with the entrees were disappointing because they too lacked seasoning. We had dinner there tonight for the first time. The inside has been remodeled with new tables, chairs, paint and decor. The tables and chairs look to have been carved and hand painted giving a feeling of being in Mexico. We did not see it before but it looks very nice and colorful. The service was fast and friendly. The menu was nice and not overwhelming with choices. The food was priced reasonably. There was four of us and all the meals were very good and looked nice enough to photograph and share. We will make this one of our regular stops for a good meal. It was hot out tonight but there was a nice seating area out front that would be good on a cooler night. read more
