I absolutely LOVE this place! I've ordered takeout from here twice in a span of about 30 days and the service and quality of the food were spot on both times!!! The first time I walked into the restaurant to order takeout - I ordered fish tacos and loaded nachos with chicken... The cashier was pleasant and helpful... I paid for my food then sat and waited for what seemed like 5 mins, I think, but definitely not more than 10 minutes... When I opened my food and hubby opened his, we were pleased with the presentation AND the taste matched! I didn't try his fish tacos but he did comment on how good they were (and he ordered them on our second visit); my loaded nachos were amazing and what I loved most is that while there are a lot of fixings on the nachos, they did not get soggy - it was the perfect amount of fixings and the flavor was perfection! And my appetite was satiated after...The chicken was thinly sliced but not too thin, all of the ingredients married together for an excellent fiesta of goodness! I was highly satisfied. The second time that I ordered from here hubby ordered fish tacos (again) and I had chicken tacos and a side order of tortilla chips and salsa. Everything tasted fresh and delicious again! This may be my new fave "go to" when I'm undecided on what to eat. I ordered the chips with pico and guacamole . Fresh and chilled with crispy home fried tortillas. Generous portions I normally ordered the tacos but this time I wanted comforting hot and spicy. They offer free margaritas for dine in patrons which is plus, they are pretty light-handed with the alcohol but not going to complain about free items. I got the chicken torta and it was huge, enough for two portions but it was very messy to eat. The serving sizes are pretty generous except for the chicken quesadilla. I have loved coming to el limon for years. They are hands down my favorite place for tacos, tamales and that complementary margarita! The food is absolutely delicious and really filling. Going for lunch or dinner always sends me home with at least one little bite for a late night snack or lunch the next day. From the chimichanga to the tortes and more. The service is great here, super lovely staff. This new place they moved into feels right and home and love the new decor. It's clean and bright, everything that you want from a great Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the tortilla soup bowl, the flavor is insane and you won't regret it. Honestly, this was a very bad experience and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. As soon as I walked in, the person at reception had a rude attitude--no smile, no respect--and spoke to me in a very disrespectful way, saying "what you gonna order" like I wasn't even a customer. When I told him I wanted to dine in, he clearly didn't like it. He came to the table and threw the menu on the table in an aggressive and disrespectful way. His behavior made me feel completely unwelcome. The whole atmosphere was ruined because of this treatment. I lost my appetite and ended up leaving without eating. I usually just get three tacos when I go to El Limon. It's good enough for a neighborhood taco place. My go to is the Chicken Tinga tacos. They're juicy,, moist and the meat is plentiful. This time the meat was dry so not as tasty but fine abd edible. The guacamole is tasty. It has the perfect lime-y tang to it. I ate the guacamole without the chips because they weren't as fresh as I'd like so they took away from the tastiness of the guacamole. My husband had a burrito that came with mole. I've visited over 7 El Limóns and this location is one of my favorites. The food, service, and atmosphere are consistently great. Even when they're busy, they manage to churn out food relatively quickly. Order accuracy is also pretty high. Out of 9+ visits, they've only made a mistake once and it wasn't a big deal (different type of burrito). Never had a bad experience here. Veggies are always fresh and cooked properly, and the loaded nachos' ratio of chips to toppings is just about right (piled high w/ all the fixings). Once you try El Limón's loaded nachos, other place's nachos pale in comparison. Their jamaica's the right balance of sweet and sour, and their free margs hit the spot even if they're a little watered down (excellent for the price). Came here for lunch. It's not huge on the inside but there are plenty of tables. You can park in the back and there is a rear entrance so that is nice. No complimentary chips and salsa but you can order it for not too much money. We decided to get the guacamole instead. It wasn't a huge amount of guacamole but it was really good with just the right amount of kick. The chips were thick and very crunchy. We had plenty leftover. For lunch I was thrilled to see that they had mole sauce that you could pretty much get on top of anything since you could pick your sauce for most everything. I have not found very many Mexican places that offer mole but this one does! I ordered a grilled chicken burrito with mole sauce. It was really good. The mole sauce was really good. The kid ordered enchiladas and decided to be daring and try the mole as well. Hurray! Another convert! This lunch was about 25 dollars so not too bad! This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. There was no wait to be seated and the wait for our actual food was 5 minutes. The menu has all the staples (nachos, tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, chips + salsa + guac, burritos, etc). I've only ever gotten their tacos, which are $2.75 (onions + cilantro). You can also make them supreme for $0.50 (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream). I would definitely recommend splurging the extra $0.50/taco to get the full experience. During this visit, I got three supreme al pastor (pineapple, pork + onions) tacos in flour tortilla ($9.75). Would definitely recommend al pastor for those who like pineapples on their pizza. The plates come with limes on the side and there are sauces on the table to add a little kick. Even though we were in no rush, we were in and out in 15 minutes.
