The food was great. Traveling tru and stopped all of my family would give them a five out of five!

Well, I had high hopes for the food here, but everything except the friendly service and tater tots were a disappointment. We didn't come because of bathroom ratings, but those reviewers that mentioned the poor bathrooms understated conditions: There was not toilet paper or paper towels. Not good. I had the prime rib sandwich with tater tots. As I said, the tater tots were good. But the prime rib sandwich was much too spicy for my tastes. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. It did have Sriracha sauce so I probably should've avoided it. I love prime rib, but this was just OK. Not a super generous portion, and not something I would order again. My sister had the shrimp taco special and did like them. Shrimp were fried. My dad had a small burger and tater tots and did enjoy it. If you're in Oakley passing through as we were, I would skip this place and go with Sonic for food. Of course the owners / proprietors can't control this, but there was a loud and profane group of 4 young men at the bar (at 1:30 PM, we were there for lunch) who used the F word every third word. That situation normal for many bars. I'm sure. I'm just saying this isn't a place I would bring small children. Two of five stars because of the friendly service. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. Stayed overnight in Oakley on the way to Colorado and came here for dinner. The woman who waited on us was joyful, the atmosphere relaxed and of a local pub. We stopped here on a whim as it was the only thing we could find that was open. I was nervous walking in as it's a bit of a dive. As soon as we walked in we realized it was filled with locals, and felt out of place. But we shouldn't have!! Everyone, staff and customers, were SO welcoming. We talked far longer than we intended. We ordered the Rocky Mountain Oysters as an app. Usually this dish is expensive and you barely get any, but we got a nice full basket of thick cuts! My husband loved his burger. We stopped in to watch the Chiefs pre season game and grab drinks/dinner. Nice selection of beers or full bar and 4 boxed wine choices. Cute bar with 2 pool tables and other games. Lots of TVs. It happened to be prime rib night and it was delicious. It was served with a nice green salad, corn on the cob and baked potato. The bartender was also serving the whole bar and he did a great job. We made our way to Oakley to check out little Jerusalem and Scott Lake State Parks. Memorial weekend is when we stopped in. Lots of things in town were closed so we were super excited to see the place open. Our family of 3 included our 13-year-old daughter in for dinner after a long day of hiking and outdoor adventures. Could not have been happier with the food and service. Everything was clean, folks were friendly, and the food was awesome. Two of us really enjoyed fried chicken buffet. Besides chicken it came with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, and scalloped potatoes. Everything was fresh and taste just like your grandma made it. But the chicken fried steak won out. Everything is homemade, from gravy to potatoes and even some delicious green beans. Driving through Kansas on our way to Colorado. I meant to type in Colby, Kansas and accidentally typed in Oakley Kansas when searching up for somewhere to eat. This place turned out to be well worth the stop. Great all you can eat fried chicken buffet, but I did not get a picture of that. The Texas toothpicks were great! This was a in downtown Oakley. The only place opened in on Sunday afternoon. The food was delicious and fresh. Its all home cooked. The service was good, besides our group of 4 their was only a few local people from town. It was an old time mom and papa locally owned restaurant. The atmosphere was a typical bar which was fine. It's a Wild West tour! Heading to the places Buffalo Bill frequented, so by coincidence we found lunch at Buffalo Bill's Bar & Grill (Yelp approved) for delicious burgers, shuffle board, and burning off some pent up energy from being in the car way too long. We were looking for a good place for a decent meal after getting lost on the roads when we went to see Monument Rocks or the Chalk Pyramids. We yelped this place and wasn't disappointed based on the reviews we read. Friendly service and good diner food! I had to try their Reuben sandwich because I love Reubens. And I paired it with the fried pickle chips. My husband got the ghost burger with shoe string fries. He said his burger was better than the bbq place we had in Tennessee! I loved my sandwich, but the pickle chips is what I had to fight my husband for! So I had to share some with him. The place is not fancy and could use some fixing up.
