I spoke with the manager on duty, who apologized and offered to compensate us in some manner. We declined. We were not looking for anything free and paid for our meal in full. Our complaint was strictly about how we were treated. A frontline employee represents the establishment, and the service we received was unacceptable. Based on this experience, I would recommend choosing another restaurant unless management addresses this problem.

SERVICE: Front desk was friendly and helpful. LOCATION: Not in old Deadwood, but not too far away from the strip. There is a $2 shuttle to take you up into town. FOOD: The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard Marriott, though the paper bowls and coffee cups seemed on the small side. ETC.: Adjacent to Cadillac Jack's for your must-do-right-now gambling needs, as well as some food service. We got a list of discounts for the hotel, Cadillac Jack's (and its restaurants), and some other places in town. We parked on-site, which involves some u-turns and such to get over to where the basement garage is located. We were informed that they actually did not have any pet-free rooms but were assured that by then putting us on the top floor we would be as far from any rooms that have had pets in them as possible. This is the off season and there is no way that this hotel is filled to anywhere near capacity , so why they would send someone with a pet up to the top floor is beyond me. For example, the bathroom shower wouldn't maintain a consistent temperature. It feels like they use the haunted theme as an excuse to keep the rooms in such a rundown state. On the positive side, the view was nice, and I did get a good night's sleep.
