Drove up and the outside looked pretty good but upon entering we were surprised how big it was. This was a Sunday night and the place was very busy. Not sure if they were all locals or the word is out for travelers? Ambiance is spectacular and the food selection is good. We tried the spinach and artichoke dip and it was very good. Great prime rib and I highly recommend the crab stuffed mushrooms. Sturgis was in high swing so it was load and very busy.

Service was great. I came before it got busy around 5:30PM and it started to get packed around 7PM. It's located down the street from the Stateline gas station. Bring a jacket if you're going when it's cold. It was a homey feel walking in. There is a bar inside and 1 TV if that interests you. They have so many options to pick from. After being referred to Buffalo Jump as being one of the best steakhouses this side of rapid city, we were unfortunately disappointed. The ambiance was the best thing about Buffalo Jump Steakhouse. I love that the population of the town is only 84 and posted on a sign in the town. My fiancé ordered the Buffalo rib eye, mashed potatoes, potato wedge fries, and the chicken gnocchi soup. I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy, wedge salad, and the pepper jack Mac and cheese. Our server was very sharp to realize to not put bacon on the Mac n cheese (even though it isn't listed on the menu as containing bacon) as I'd also ordered the wedge salad without it. The service was over all good in my opinion but my fiancé did point out that he was never offered another beer. My fiancé usually opts for a filet but wanted to try the Buffalo and wasn't very impressed with it. Neither of us were impressed with the sides. The mashed potatoes were very obviously made with, as least in part, powdered potato. The pepper jack Mac had very little flavor/cheese sauce. Even the potato wedge fries tasted off for some reason, like they'd been frozen previously or something. We did opt for dessert at the end, and unlike the website advertises "home made" desserts, these tasted like run of the mill bulk Costco cheesecake/cake slices. read more

We came here to celebrate my grandparents anniversary. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was disgusting, raw garlic and soggy and greasy. we come here every rally season. This trip was no different. With a party of 4 3 of us ordered the filet. It was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The service would get one star, and that's only because the steak made its way to our table. I have been riding to the Sturgis Rally since 2001 and never knew about the Buffalo Jump. I was introduced to it this year and WOW. I never in two decades would have dreamed that such a place existed in this remote part of Wyoming, but it certainly does. Great food and I don't use the term lightly. Excellent steaks, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Bison that melts in your mouth and .........great crab cakes and lobster......thousands of miles from any ocean. Huh?? I don't easily give a 5-star rating to a restaurant on Yelp. But here it is boys and girls. I have in-laws in Sundance, WY that I have been visiting since the 1990s and we have been going to the Buffalo Jump each time I go up there and it has always been good. But I think it has had several owners since my first visit with the current owners owning the place now for several years. I treated friends and family on the night of July 24, 2019, there were eight of us in total. Meaning we were almost one quarter of the town of Beulah's population of 33. Don't let small town fool you because they have big town taste. The place wasn't packed, but they were having a good Wednesday night. We were seated within minutes and all, except the two 18 years olds, ordered beer or wine. Our drinks came out quickly, our waitress gave us enough time to look over the menu and came back to take the orders. We all ordered something different from filet mignon to pasta and it all came out together, hot and most importantly, correct. I ordered my filet mignon a hair past medium and got a great steak that was cooked a hair past medium. Having eaten many filets at many different places I can honestly say, my steak was in the top three, if not top two, I have ever had. Ruth Chris is hard to beat. Tender, yes but the seasoning and grill marks were phenomenal. I was going to order a baked potato as my side, but they ran out that night, so I ordered the onion rings. Good choice on my part because they too were great. They have a crunchy batter, not too big or fat and the onion did not come all the way out when you took the first bite leaving you with just the outer shell. I have waited tables in my younger days, and I have eaten with large groups in the past, what I have never done or seen before is a group of people who did not leave a single morsel of food behind. No doggie bags, no scraps, just eight empty and clean plates. I'm not saying I drove 1,500 miles to just eat at the Buffalo Jump, but I would drive 1,500 miles to eat at the Buffalo Jump. read more

This is without a doubt the best steakhouse! If your in Sturgis for the rally you must come here on your way back from Devils Tower or Spearfish Canyon. Recently visited for my birthday. It appears this place is a popular joint, so I'm confused on how our food was so absolutely terrible. It took 2.5 hours for a table of 7 to eat. I ordered the ribeye, which ran around $30. The salad was wilty and small, the ribeye was extremely tough and chewy, and my steak fries (all 4 of them) were fried to a crisp and 100% inedible. The steak knife didn't stand a chance cutting through my steak.. I tried to get the servers attention to fix my plate, but after 30 min gave up. While attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 2010 (the 70th anniversary), our group stayed at The Mill at Sand Creek which is located just down the road from Buffalo Jump. As is the norm for this area during Sturgis, there were motorcycles parked out front and what appeared to be a bar attached to the location. Part of the bar was outdoors and the bartenders were in a water filled pool wearing bikinis. The Resturant, actually seems like an after thought in this setting. The buffalo jump soon became our regular dinner spot, especially since it was stumbling distance to our place. The food was excellent, my best meals while in the black hills were at the Buffalo Jump.
