I walked in and sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail and asked for a menu. I decided what I wanted and then sat for 15 minutes and watched the servers socialize and simply ignore me until my drink was finished. I finally paid for my drink and got up and left without having dinner. The servers need to think more about doing their jobs rather than gossiping about fellow workers and ignoring customers. My husband and I had lunch at Stadium Sports Grill yesterday. The food was good. We chose this place mainly because they provide outside seating; however, the tables were filthy and we had to ask the server to clean ours. Went here on a recommendation. I ordered a chicken sandwich and the quality was about what you would expect to find at a Denny's or similar establishment. It wasn't terrible, but nothing to write home about, just "meh". The server was ok, she really didn't put too much effort into checking on us or asking if we enjoyed our meal. They do offer a free salad with the meal, but again, nothing terribly exciting. On parr with something that you would create at a cheap, and limited salad bar. read more

We always eat here when we visit family in Spearfish. The overall food is about what you'd expect from a sports bar/grill. It is average when you consider everything. However, if you go here, definitely try the steak tips. They are awesome!! Its what this place is known for, and its what they do well. I've only tried a few other things off the menu and none were remarkable. We did see another table with a huge plate of nachos. They looked covered, delicious, and messy!! Just like nachos should be. I'm sure they were soggy at the end, but that happens. I'd imagine that you won't be impressed by much except the steak tips, so go with those if you visit here. read more

I have never really been impressed with The Stadium. Sure I hear the Steak Tips are good, but I personally like the taste of those from the Cedar House. I certainly still end up meeting friends down here when back in town, and will continue, but Horses to Harleys is basically the best bar in town... so there is that. Stopped in last night for a bite to eat. Upon exiting the car we were immediately harassed by a group of customers who were smoking out back... I know there was a worker outside but I am not sure she was part of the drunk handicap bashing mob. They felt like policing the parking lot by hollering at myself and parents about our handicap status since we parked in the handicapped parking spot. I happened to be driving my Mother's car who does in fact have a handicap placard which is none of their business nor are her past and present health issues. I felt very unsafe and threatened while exiting my vehicle here. Be warned, if you are handicapped you will be harassed and yelled at by drunks who monitor the parking lot here, they will let you know you are not welcome and will make you feel unsafe. I will say the food and waitresses have always been good while visiting this establishment, hence the 2 stars instead of 1, but unfortunately this will be the encounter I tell others about when they ask me about this place. If you value your customers you should get your drunks under control because harassing handicap people about their disability is disgusting. read more

Combining ratings from the three times I've been here and been disappointed (total of 5 visits). First time - went with a group of friends (former classmates from Mines and their friends, so it was an all male group aside from me). There were five of us and we were in town for a game, so what better place than The Stadium to have lunch? I had been to the Stadium in Belle Fourche several times and loved it. Bad idea to go to the one in Spearfish. We have three different servers/waitresses so it got very confusing trying to figure who was actually our waitress and how tipping should work. Turns out it wasn't much of an issue because two of us got the wrong entrees entirely and one had the wrong side and two people also had the wrong drinks. The place wasn't even that busy! All three of the waitresses pathetically tried to flirt with all the men and ended up making them quite uncomfortable. They ended up tipping LESS because of it. There's a difference between being friendly and flirty, and I know one of the girl's cleavage definitely became more obvious when she came around a second time. Pathetic and disgusting. 2nd time - decided to give it another chance. Felt like a fool for talking up the steak strips (from Belle) and was excited to take two of my friends with to order them. We all ordered steak strips (rare, medium rare, and medium well) and they ALL came back the same, at medium temperature. Disappointing for folk in the Midwest who know how they want their meat cooked.... Third time was the worst experience with them. My boyfriend and I drove from Rapid City with the plan to drive up Spearfish Canyon and have early dinner at The Stadium. We had a day off together and wanted to make a day trip. It was ruined when the waitress REFUSED to seat us as it was 5:04 and I wasn't 21 at the time, though he was. Apparently at 5:00 the WHOLE restaurant turns into a bar. The place is labeled as a SPORTS GRILL, not a bar. I had NEVER been rejected and have eaten at both locations after five before, both with and without people aged 21+. We insisted that we had no intent to sit at the bar or order alcohol and said we had drove from Rapid City (50 miles) to eat there. She still refused and wouldn't even get a manager. Absolutely horrible service. The place was dead (Tuesday night at 5:04) and we were shocked that they turned down paying customers for such a stupid reason. Terrible service, mediocre food, and substandard restaurant all around. However, DO NOT write off the Stadium in Belle Forche! Have always had a good time there, good service, and always have gotten the food I expected. Wish we would have driven the extra 15 miles to Belle to eat, but at that point we were frustrated and just wanted to boot home. read more

While attending BHSU before transferring, this was my typical hangout. The bar itself is located in the heart of downtown, roughly 3/4-1 mile from campus. It's location makes it a snap to find but also can cause parking to be a bit difficult so walking (if in town) is encouraged. Since transferring and moving on from the Black Hills, not much has changed in this bar. A recent return to the area confirmed this. The staff is still primarily comprised of BHSU college students/locals and the menu is virtually the same. Both are nice if one desires consistency mixed with a "local feel". Before 7 pm, you get a mix of family and people from across the workforce. After 9 pm, the crowd tends to be BHSU students or locals that used to attend there. The nightlife there tends to be rather casual but crowded. Don't expect live music or dancing here though, the venue is simply too small to support it. However, if billiards or darts are your thing, you can enjoy both here. read more

We tried various menu items (burger, chicken sandwich, beef tips, potato salad, coleslaw, french fries, onion rings) and every single item was barely mediocre at best. It all seemed very processed. We all left with a bad taste in our mouths and an upset stomach. I would highly recommend avoiding this location in Spearfish, there are so many better options in town. Service was decent but that is about the only reason I would give this 1 star instead of 0. We went here on the recommendation of a friend who grew up in the area. OMG - the steak tips. Never had anything like it - battered, fried bites of juicy steak? Yes, please! My hubby practically died and went to heaven. I had a baked potato and salad with my meal and was totally stuffed.
