Stopped in for an early lunch yesterday with my daughter. She ordered the Mac and Cheese and I ordered the lasagna. Her food was served cold, and my lasagna was comparable to a frozen Lean Cuisine lasagna, which was disappointing. I wasn't expecting home made, but for $8.00 it should have been a lot better. I realize this is a sports bar, and had we ordered chicken wings we would have likely been okay. If you're into sports, drinking and light snacks, then this is probably the place for you. If you like tasty food, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. On a positive note, the service was very good (which is the only reason I'm giving them three stars), and they did take the Mac and Cheese off of our bill. Perhaps it was the fact that my wife's and my outing was a spur-of-the-minute foray on a Sunday evening, born of me really not feeling like cooking. And, I really felt like some wings. When I say, 'screw it,' I'm not in the mood for something healthy, wings are my go-to; I've lived in Orlando, L.A. & Atlanta, and have always had a favorite wing joint. Since moving to Wake Forest, we've ordered from the Ale House, by the exit a couple of times. I'd love to have better report, but I just can't get on-board with breaded wings. I like 'em naked, crispy & wicked-hot. Now, with the fact that I like wings crispy in mind - some here have referred to them as dry - let's talk about the food for a minute. We ordered a 20-piece with a side of fries. In a world of slimy wings, ours came out with a perfect crisp on the skin. I knew immediately that I was gonna carve a thouroughly unhealthy swath of destruction through this plate. For flavor, we went with the insanity, which ended up being a nicely-tangy classic buffalo with just the right amount of heat. The fries were classic crinkles, salted, not overly-doctored. They were making a new batch of sweet tea when we sat down, so I had to wait a few minutes for it to come out, but our server, Matthew, rewarded me with two glasses when he brought it out. I almost never dish out five stars on a review, but our server got them over the top. We were the only guests seated on the patio during our visit, but never felt ignored. My drink running low was never an issue, as I had two glasses from the get-go, but he was right on-cue when my wife was ready for a second Stella. I met some friends here for the Duke/UNC game because the Ale House down the road had a 45 minute wait. Hindsight is 20/20 and I now see why this place only had a 10 minute wait. The service was terrible. My friends were late getting there and the waiter appeared to have a bit of an attitude because of it. When my friends finally got to the table, I had to ask him to get them menus. Other unfortunate things that happened included him slamming down ranch dressing on the table and not refilling any of our drinks. I honestly don't expect much from waiters these days but what happened next was the worst part. My buddy calls the manager over to complain. She kept cutting him off to offer to refill drinks, get something for us, etc, but wasn't really listening to his concerns. It was obvious she could care less about his complaint. We could tell she was saying "blah, blah, blah" in her head and just waiting for him to finish. Not good management. Now to the food. It was disgusting. I got a burger that was a greasy mess. Flimsy, cheap bacon make the burger any better. I was still hungry, as I only ate half of the burger, so I decided to get some queso dip. This was also disgusting and looked like glue. Typically, queso dip will harden if you do not touch it for 10 minutes or so. This was hardening after not touching if for a minute. I don't know what that crap was. We had steak quesadillas honey bourbon wings bacon cheese fries and cheese steak eggrolls. The trivia game was entertaining. We went to this location just before the Pandemic started. I have one word to describe our experience " GROSS" . This place is dirty. The bathrooms are dirty. Ordered a pizza and beer and everything was a-ok. The beer list is good and includes lots of local beers. The pepperoni pizza was tasty and a medium ($11.50) was plenty big for 2 people with 2 slices left over. Our server was very nice and on point. First let me say the food and service I experienced was great. The 3 stars is due to two issues 1.) Parking was horrible I had to park at Applebees, the odd thing was is that it was an early Friday evening and my wait inside was only 10 minutes... unsure where you would park for the mid-evening-weekend hours. 2.) Stopped in this afternoon and found out they added shrimp to there menu and they fry all there chicken and fish together . If you have type of allergy to fish you will not be able to eat anything. The waitress was snotty and argumentative, basically she had a reason for all things wrong and would argue until you're blue in the face. The manager was clueless, no customer service skill at all. The kitchen staff did not prepare the food as well as pre-Covid! None of these people should be in the service industry. Of 4 entrees, one was overcooked bone dry, 2 were cooked incorrectly. So that's 25/100; worse than failing! However, according to the waitress, they're right even though when pointed out what was wrong with the entrees. Not worth a penny! Disclaimer: I hate Yelp, and I have removed most of my reviews that aren't either 5 or 1 star. I have worked in the restaurant business for almost 20 years, from fry cook to manager. I only go to Yelp when I've calmed down and feel I have something relatively necessary to say. I ate at the Wake Forest Buffalo Brothers on 1.1.2015 around 6 p.m. I know my server's name and employee number, but I am not here to get anyone fired or make their job worse. I am simply writing here to offer a few tips for our server for next time. I do not blame the restaurant for this. I will eat at Buffalo Brothers again. Things happen... Sometimes chicken comes out under-cooked. This was our main issue. Typically not life or death, but gross and very easy to prevent. An underlying problem was that our server rarely checked on us. When we told the server the issue, the response was "... (blank stare) ... uhh, is there anything I can do about it?" Yes, in fact there is. You can communicate with your co-workers so they can prevent it in the future. You can alert your manager and other tables that the chicken might be under-cooked. Least of all, you can smile and apologize. Someone from our table was sick from the chicken at the time. Act like you care. That's all, really. The only response to a food complaint is some variation of "I'm sorry, I will let my manager and the kitchen know. (And if you don't know what to do?) Let me get the manager." Not "Uhh... is there anything I can do about it?" Not only does that make your restaurant look bad, it makes you look bad at your job. Was it New Year's Day? Yes. Nobody wants to work holidays, especially in the hungover state in which our server appeared to be. I can relate, really. We all worked that day too, and just wanted to eat. We were not assholes about it either, believe me. I routinely get seated with terrible customers, and I always seem to mess up their orders the most (of course). But it's not their fault, and I can overcome it. If I don't feel like overcoming it, or don't know what to do, someone does. read more

I have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions and the food and service has always been phenomenal. I cannot understand why they don't have 5 stars. My sons, husband, friends and extended family have all had good meals and loved coming here. There are also a couple waitresses that are outstanding. Checked out this location on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and it was actually not too crowded. We both love buffalo chicken wings/tenders, and this place had some decently good chicken. It was pretty standard for chicken and fries but the price was a little expensive for your average chicken tenders and chicken wings, but it tasted good and service was great. read more

To fulfill our "Buffalo, NY wings and pizza" fix, we are pretty regular customers. I can stand by the wings but definitely suggest ordering them extra hot or more if you like some heat, and with blue cheese of course! Their pizza can be hit or miss but when it's good, it's GOOD! My only complaint is that for a Buffalo bar, it sure is hard seeing a Buffalo Bills game. We've had to leave twice now because we couldn't see the games where we seated and since we had our kids with us, could not sit at the bar where customers "control the game requests." My husband, 5 month old and I went in to eat and watch football today. As soon as we walked in, the hostess made us feel very unwelcome. She put us in the very back corner of the bar where there were no TVs to watch the game. We asked to be moved so we could watch football. The Philly cheese steak eggrolls were not just my favorite app from here, but were one of my favorite apps in general. These were highly disappointing at this location. We often go there, like their food, but the service is not good, now even getting worse! A kid menu printed on the menu is $4.5, but we were charged almost $7. After we asked, they changed our bill, but still not right- of course more expensive than the menu price. Their manager Denny told us they raised the price recently, but did not update the menu, and now we were talking about a dollar. His tone, fast talking speed and the wording how he used to argued their fault made us very uncomfortable. There was no sense of sincerely apology. My kids were getting tired since all the trouble of bill. For it being an opening weekend, I thought this place was doing pretty well. They were really busy but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table. The food came fast. I would have given them 5 stars but the fries on both my husband and I's entrees were cold. They did correct this once we pointed it out to them. I had a pretzel burger. It puts Red Robin's burger to shame. It was cooked to a prefect medium well and the pretzel roll was soft and yummy! My husband had the fish fry. The fish was hot and crispy. It was probably one of the best pieces of fish I have had in the area. Overall I am glad that Buffalo Brothers has come to Wake Forest. We definitely will be back.
