The room included a full kitchen, which was a huge plus and gave us everything we needed during our stay. The location is excellent--right in town and close to restaurants, shops, and the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. One of the highlights was seeing a moose walking through the neighborhood, which made the experience even more memorable. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room comfortable regardless of the weather outside. Overall, Yellowstone Gateway Inn was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location. We would definitely stay here again.

Room was about 10 x 10 in size with 30" wide hallway to bathroom 5 feet long. The place was nothing like the pictures on their site. I checked in at 8pm. After hrs of trying g to get someone. We sent msg and checked out at 4am. A day early. Stay far away from this place. When we were there at least 4 other families were having the same issues. Expedia should be assumed for even listing this property. I wish I could attach more pictures

The daily parking fee, bathroom size in the room, and continental breakfast were all disappointing. We didn't know about the $20 per day parking fee when we booked it and they accidentally charged us $75 per day for our 1 dog, when they were only supposed to charge one $75 fee. Thankfully I caught it and called to have them refund us $150. The hotel is new, modern, & beautiful inside and out! Especially the gorgeous view of the river right behind the hotel!! The river is only a couple feet deep at its deepest so a safe place to fish and play with kids. There's great fishing right here! Massive trout!! The room was just ok. The beds weren't uncomfortable. We had 3 adults and 2 kids in our 2 queens and pull-out-couch-bed room. The bathroom/shower was just too small for a room that can sleep up to 6 guests. We did enjoy their free coffee that they have available 24/7. The continental breakfast was 2/5 stars. All the fruit they offered didn't look appetizing, I don't mind powdered scrambled eggs but I just couldn't eat theirs. They only offered sausage other than eggs and it looked very unappetizing. So unless you only eat cereal, bagels, and waffles for breakfast- you might not want to count on eating their breakfast, unfortunately.

The lake is small but offers pretty views, and there are several other fishable lakes and rivers nearby. The road in is very long (around 20 miles) and mostly dirt, so it can get fairly rutted and filled with pot holes. Definitely drive something in that's four wheel drive with some clearance. But wow is the drive beautiful with mountains and Centennial Valley views. The cabins were simple but well maintained. Very comfy beds, full bathrooms with good hot water. Off the grid, but powered by solar and propane generators. Food was excellent, especially steaks and baked goods. Entrees range from 15 - 35 for dinner. Lastly, Jake and Laurel were wonderful hosts - very personable and welcoming. They helped arrange some guided fishing trips for us that were fantastic.

Beautiful location and very sweet staff, but I do feel the website portrays a different experience…read morethan what we had. One thing I want to clarify is the "buffet." The website advertises buffet-style meals, but during our stay there was no buffet or selection of different foods to choose from. It was one meal being served, with no other options. The portions were hefty, but I personally wouldn't consider that a buffet. The cabins are VERY rustic--no TV, no mini fridge, no AC, no guest WiFi, or drinking water provided in the cabin. You can rent an ice chest from them and buy the ice from them lol...When we asked for water, we were told to drink from the bathroom sink that the water is fine to drink. Do with that what you will. Our cabin smelled like dog urine, the bathroom had a strong porta-potty odor, and there was very little ventilation. Open the window at night and you freeze; close it and you're hot and stuffy. The bed was so uncomfortable my back was still recovering two days later. The outdoor chairs are straight metal rod chairs, so there really isn't anywhere comfortable to sit and relax. We could also hear mice, although being this remote, I understand wildlife comes with the territory. We were also told if we needed to make a phone call we can go down the road or use there phone. Lol. The lake itself is gorgeous, but there's no swimming. Kayaks are available, although a larger group seemed to have most of them claimed during our stay. When I hear "resort," I picture a few more amenities. This felt much more like an extremely rustic, off-the-grid cabin experience. We ended up leaving a day early, and let's just say we were VERY happy when we got to a hotel. For us, this is a beautiful place to visit for the day--enjoy the lake, have a meal, kayak if one is available--and then sleep somewhere else. I love the outdoors but apparently this made me really appreciate the indoors. Straight up humbling experience.

Unbelievably high priced for a very substandard room. $237 with tax on Priceline (no…read morecancellation/refund allowed) for a dirty room that was decorated completely with garage sale finds. The room is spacious and would be great with some investment in new furniture, some needed updates, and a very deep clean. It has a great location with a lovely view of the lake. But... It was unclear where the office was located. There wasn't an office sign. Clutter stacked around the doors including an old beat up piano - maybe a remodel project is going on? We watched and killed flying insects coming into the room from a crack under the door. We left the spider that was there to hopefully catch the ones we missed. Mattresses were low grade and old. The beds and pillows were sprayed with some kind of strong chemical scent/deodorizer - the entire room smelled what we guessed was Odo-ban. my daughter with Asthma was unable to sleep in the bed and had to sleep on the futon under our jackets. There was no extra bedding for the futon. Bedroom furniture was very old particle board that was water warped, chipped, and abraded on the edges. Stove was filthy - the drip pans were rusted and full of burned on food. Appeared like they hadn't been cleaned or replaced in years. The refrigerator was old and the racks inside were rusted. The dishes were stored under the sink beneath the drain trap, which feels very unhygenic. $15 fee if you left any dirty dishes. We were really looking forward to spending the day enjoying the beautiful view but instead we are leaving as quickly as we can. We are looking forward to getting to our next hotel to shower and finally rest comfortably.
