I haven't been here in a while, but I came after we had a storm passed through Buffalo. It was absolutely stunning. I came right around sunset on purpose, and it had been plowed a little bit, you did have to drive slowly, there wasn't a whole lot of area to park or anything like that, but it was a lovely place to drive. Cool looking spot but the park is packed. This is our third time here. We are done. Probably never coming back.

This venue has change so much since last year that it is completely different. Last year they used a temporary stage while this 13 million dollar venue was being constructed next door to the old site! (Buffalo likes to build new versions of things right next door it seems) This venue is incredible! They have a huge section for food trucks, vendors, etc. off to the one side with another giant section for VIP on the other. The VIP section also features a big tent structure to help with the wind and rain. It came in handy for the concert I was at. The middles section in front of the stage features what I think is astroturf. Sounds weird but it makes such a huge difference when it rains. No more muddy slop mess like other venues. The sight lines here are also really good no matter where you are. With this location being on the waterfront, it gives this venue a fun vibe. The city skyline in the back gives people a great view as they're walking out. Such a cool spot. This honestly might be my new favorite venue in WNY. It is so well organized and laid out. Can't wait for more concerts here. read more

The Buffalo outer harbor is my favorite place in Buffalo. It's only 5 minutes from my house so I come here quite often to walk my dogs, ride my bike, ride the boat, and attend events. Its a beautiful green space with lots of biking trails and tons of scenic overlooks. There are several places to stop along the water front. There's plenty of parking lined along the entire waterfront as well. read more

I went here last night for the ADTR concert and was pleasantly surprised. This is a great venue! There are plenty of places to sit and cool off in the shade, and food and drink are easily accessible and way more affordable than other venues! $8.50 for a Labatt, I'll take it! I had a great time and I'll definitely be back for another show. As far as the park goes, I have always loved walking, running, and biking here. It's an all around great place :). read more

Once the warm weather begins and the cold winds off lake erie subside, this is a place we come to a few times a year. We generally walk the whole area with stops along the way to rest, take in the sunshine, view the Lake, but generally to people watch. On your way, you will find a beach, benches to sit on, a pier, boats and canoes floating by and a lot of walkers and bikers. Every year they seen to have new things going on. As far as I know, this Harbor is not used to Harbor fugitives, but even it was, it would not change the fact that it's a spectacularly gorgeous place to visit and explore in WNY. Buffalo is such an underrated City, and the spectacular outer harbor is a great reason why. One of many reasons actually. A lot of people think of Buffalo as a run-down industrial city. It's been rejuvenated a lot but one thing it always has had is spectacular natural beauty. Come down to the harbor and see for yourself. The city is known as the Queen City, and the majestic views of this part of the city will make you feel like a Queen. But not in that sense. But maybe that too. It's your business. If the out doors and being close to nature is your thing. This is one of the best places to come to. You have so much you can do and see. Such as, riding your bike on the bike paths. Many people enjoy the fact there is so much open space for picnicking, or even just sitting out on the lawn reading a book. There's also a place for kayaks, and there bikes and other water activities that you can rent. I believe there are concerts here as well, but that is only in the summer. read more

I've been on the Miss Buffalo a few times in my life time. It's always nice to take a boat ride and enjoy the scenery. The price differs depends on what time of the day your ride is. My family and I did the 2pm cruise for $22 per adult over the age of 12 and $12 per child 11 and younger. They sell snacks and beverages on the boat. This is a great outdoor area to walk, ride bikes, walk your dog, or just sit and relax. It's so beautiful on a gorgeous day like today. It stretches from the Coast Guard (where the lighthouse route is) to different marinas. There are trails where you can walk that go on for miles. One takes you up to some cool metal that swirls in the wind and makes neat designs. When we're not in a pandemic, you can rent bikes and kayaks. I love that it isn't overdeveloped. The best part is, I finally found the Flatman Statue today. It made my whole day. It was originally at the Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto, NY. It now sits in the Buffalo Outer Harbor. If you walk far down the one walking path, it's right near the water. Come down and take a walk to check out the cool statue and then gaze at the water!!! read more

Can't think of much else I'd rather do than walk along the water on a sunny day at the Outer Harbor. In the summer and early fall you can watch the boats and jet skis or launch your kayak here. In the cooler months it's nice to bundle up and go for a walk, ride your bike, roller blade or even sit and read on one of the hammocks they have. There is even a skate park. You can park along the street or park in one of the small parking lots. The outer harbor is definitely the place to go to spend some peaceful time right in the city! read more

Man, I can't believe I just started walking my dog here and missed out when the weather was a little nicer. I love the trails and park area. My dog, a slightly shaky and recently rescued chihuahua, also loves this place and is a little less shaky when we walk here (nervous dog out in the wild). We have been going here a few times a week for the past two weeks or so and each time try a new trail, start from a new place or go a little further each time. If you time it right, the General Mills factory wafts the sweet smell of baking cheerios in the air while you walk by the water. This must be one of my favorite sents in the entire world and now I get to walk my dog at sunset by the water while smelling literally tons of baking Cheerios. I don't know if my dog Roux can smell the Cheerios but I think she can admire it too. I also like this place because the trails offer a nice mix of by the water, in the grass, and more wooded areas so no one gets bored while walking. A few of the trails also have a scenic view of the Buffalo downtown area. Other dog owners, so far, are also very courteous which is a plus. One thing to consider, it gets pretty windy in the colder months so dress very warm. read more

Wow, can't believe I didn't know this park existed until today. Nice spot (and wasn't busy at all on a Saturday with nice weather, surprising) to see the water and just relax. There's plenty of Adirondack chairs and picnic tables, as well as a concessions stand that has some food, ice cream, and local craft beers on tap and or in cans! Prices are fair too! There's also corn hole, giant connect 4, and other lawn games. Good spot for any age group or family to enjoy. Come to the Buffalo Outer Harbor to: -Sit and relax in wooden Adirondack chairs and enjoy a nice view of the water -Picnic -Fly a kite -Go for a walk, run, bike, or roller blade on the paved bike trails -Launch a kayak -Enjoy a cold local brew or treat Parking: Free. Nice biking and walking trails that go for miles. There's a bike ferry to carry you and your bike across the river to canal side. If you need a bike, they rent them. What a hidden gem! Oops! I'm letting out a secret. A wonderful, clean, beautiful natural recreational area. My friend and I enjoyed a picnic there yesterday- the cool breeze off the water was heavenly on a very hot day. So low - key, simple relaxation. You can watch the boats go by, children play in the incredible playground, or take a walk on the trail. It was therapeutic for me to unwind, just take in the moment. De-stress. Serene environment was exactly what I needed. Ice cream vendors on bicycle and the traditional ice cream truck were there and it was a treat for all. A happy memory of summer days for the little ones especially. Now that I've found this lovely place, I'll be visiting often. Maybe I'll see you there?! read more

Although Yelp lists this as a "music venue," that is somewhat misleading. This whole area has so much to offer for walkers, runners, bikers, picnic-goers, families. It's beautiful with a breathtaking view of Lake Erie, downtown Buffalo and the wind turbines. There is a nature preserve (and no, I'm not talking about Tift), a couple manmade beaches, benches, boardwalks and access to the coast guard station and Buffalo's beautiful, historic lighthouse. I would love to see some very small businesses scattered throughout. A seasonal ice cream hut, another restaurant/bar (I am not a huge fan of Dug's Dive but it's better than nothing). It is also not easily accessible from downtown if you are on bike. By car, just take the Skyway to Furhmann Blvd. I'm excited to see all the development down here! read more

Thunder in the Water event was great! It is free. A good sized crowd, but not overcrowded. Plenty of room for viewing. If going tomorrow, as the event continues, bring your lawn chair and bug repellent. Biting flies were around. Three food trucks there today- Lloyds, Franks, and a pizza one. read more

Buffalo is a very lucky city to have such an extensive and large waterfront area for people to enjoy year round. The Buffalo outer harbor is beautiful and continues to be an up and coming place with new elements seemingly added every year. There are loads of places to walk, bike, roller blade, or just sit and relax with a beautiful view of Lake Erie. There are so many events here going on all year round (although not this year with the virus situation) and always something to see and do. I love the open access to the outer harbor and there is an insane amount of parking on Fuhrman boulevard the road that runs parallel to the waterfront. Some highlights include the access to the Tifft Nature preserve nearby, the Buffalo Lighthouse a must see, Times Beach Nature Preserve, and of course the windmills on top of the hill an urban art installation with an amazing view of the city and lake looking towards Canada. There are places to put your kayak in and of course a large harbor for motor boats as well! It's such a big place with a lot of people but it's always so quiet, something that I really love about this place. A must visit for Buffalo locals and visitors alike. Don't forget to check out the bike path historical signage along the road for a lot of interesting history about Buffalo and it's development and past! read more

The sunsets are amazing from the outer harbor! They have very nice trails for biking, walking, rollerblading, whatever you want to do. Beware! The parking situation for concerts is completely ridiculous. We arrived about an hour before the Black Keys were about to go on and had to walk about 2 miles -- I clocked it with my Nike app. Approximately a half hour each way with no bathrooms along the way -- good luck elderly. Next time I would take the inner harbor ferry which leaves from the outer harbor or bring bikes to ride from your car. read more

I have been to the inner harbor many times but today ventured to the other side, the outer harbor. What a gem and what a waste. Come on City of Buffalo leadres, get off your ass and do something with this space!!!! As I was walking down the mile or so path all I could envision was a beach, erosion to the land protected by the breakwall. Bars, restraunts, amusements, the possibilities are endless, there is SO MUCH UNUSED space there! Go to Chicago, look at their navy pier and come back and do something with this. They did put a nice little park there by a small beach, and two or three picnic tables but thats it, nothing really to attract anyone. read more

This is a great space! From what I've seen (so far), there's a kayak launch, bike repair station, bathrooms, and lots of parking. I like to launch my kayaks here since it's super easy at this location and you can go around to the inner harbor. I just did the Pierogi Fest here and it was big enough to handle the crowd. The only downside is that there's one lane to get in and one lane to get out. You'll be waiting in traffic if you're coming for a big event. read more

Great venue for the summer concert series. Easy to park on Fuhrmann Boulevard or in the lot for $10.00. They sell tickets to buy food and beverages. The food trucks that were there also take tickets only for the shows. Big open field ensures you get the full audio wherever you are. Be prepared to stand for the whole show though. read more
