We also tried the pistachio mousse dessert and it was very pretty but lacked a lot of pistachio flavor. A chocolate cup full of unflavored but rich whipped cream and a minuscule amount of pistachio flavored something that was holding the cup to the plate. We were mostly just confused by the name of the dish versus the experience. It was good just not pistachio mousse. We actually wondered if someone accidentally prepared it wrong. We were here for an anniversary and were given free champagne before our meal and offered more at the end which we declined because of all the other lovely drinks we'd had. However, I honestly can't recall ever being surprised by a credit card surcharge at the end of a meal. For me, it wasn't about the amount--it was about the lack of transparency. The surcharge was not disclosed before ordering. I hope Quenelle reconsiders this policy or, at a minimum, makes it clearly visible to guests before they order. Unfortunately, it left a bad taste and makes me unlikely to return. I'd simply encourage others to be aware of the surcharge before dining.
