To make matters worse, I specifically noted on my reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. No one acknowledged it, congratulated us, or made any effort to recognize the occasion. Meanwhile, the table next to us was congratulated on their anniversary, which made us feel completely overlooked. We were also initially seated at a four-top even though there were only two of us, making the seating feel awkward and uncomfortable. We had to ask to be moved to a booth ourselves. Our server came across as annoyed and lacked the warmth and attentiveness you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The final straw was when a menu was accidentally dropped on top of my head from behind our booth, apparently where they store their menus. No one acknowledged it or apologized, which felt both careless and unprofessional. As for the restaurant itself, I honestly found it to be pretty mediocre. The dining room has a beautiful atmosphere, but that's about the only thing it has going for it. The food simply didn't live up to the reputation or the prices. I've had better steaks and better service at Texas Roadhouse, which says a lot considering the difference in price point. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

I tried the ribs that seemed to be reheated and we got the smoked chicken that was pretty good. The grilled potatoes were raw inside and the greens were undercooked and lacked any flavor.
