Yum! The jerk chicken dinner was so good. It had so much flavor. It comes on top of a bed of really tasty rice and you get two sides. All of the sides we tried were really good. The wings are legit. I didn't think 5 wings would be a very hefty dinner, but they were huuge. You can pick between breaded and naked too. We were so full we saved the chicken philly for lunch the next day and it was really really good leftover and cold. Can't imagine how good it would've been fresh. Exactly what I was craving and The Flavor Grille didn't disappoint! I got a jerk chicken dinner with greens and mackin cheese, plus an order of fried green tomatoes. I'm extremely full and extremely happy. The jerk chicken was relatively mild but still flavorful. The rice that comes with it tasted extra turmeric-y (I think?) which was so satisfying! Next time, I'll probably order extra greens--so good. The fried green tomatoes weren't greasy and didn't need the (tasty) dipping sauce--the breading was flavorful enough! I mean, I still used it. This small place was a delight to find after one of our fall hiking spree hikes in Summit County. We decided to be adventurous & give it a go, & we were glad we did! John's Philly Steak was tender & tasty with red peppers & onions. He said it was the best he ever had! He was kind enough to let me have a taste & I have to agree with him, "best ever." I enjoyed some extra crispy lemon pepper wings & seasoned fries. Just yummy. They cooked the wings extra crispy for me without charring them. The peach cobbler was great! This Jamaican/Soul food joint was a friendly surprise. There isn't much room to sit down and eat but they do have 2-3 small tables. I had jerk chicken with greens and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was delicious, flavorful and had a nice spicy kick but not too spicy. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. Forget fake cheese sauce this stuff is the REAL deal. Delicious. The greens were delicious also. The reason for one star short of five is because the restaurant could use a little bit of cleaning. This is a small spot in the valley and honestly I thought it would be the kind of place that got everything off the Sysco truck and they put it in a microwave or deep fryer. I was wrong! They are doing real cooking here and making things from scratch. So far I have had the jerk chicken and the oxtails. Both dishes were fall off the bone and full of flavor! Wow! The sides were given the same care as the main protein and they put effort into plate presentation. I had the macaroni and cheese and was a little underwhelmed. There was nothing really wrong with it but it was the only thing I have had there that wasn't awesome. Take this with a grain of salt since I am a mac & cheese snob. There are a couple of small tables but it is really setup for to-go. The staff and owner are very friendly and customer oriented. The food was awful I got jerk chicken and rice it tasted like regular grilled chicken , the macaroni and cheese was NOT DONE it was watery no flavor at all the only thing that was decent was the coleslaw. I hear so many great things about this place, but I was NOT thrilled. I order the Surf and Turf over fries and yuck The sauce was loaded on which made my fries soggy and not only were the shrimp chopped into tiny pieces over top (not like their pictures show on FB) they were so fishy, literally tastes like they've been stored in a fish tank until ready to serve. Found this place tucked in the plaza and really enjoyed the food. This is a grill or street food with limited seating but don't let that stop you as many great restaurants started from humble beginnings. We were greeted upon entering and felt very welcome. I asked for a recommendation and Jerk Chicken was suggested, my colleague (a wing guy) went with his favorite. Our meals were ready within 15 minutes and served at the right temperature in carry out containers. We ate at one of the small tables. I had Mac N Cheese, coleslaw, cornbread as sides plus my chicken was served over a bed of rice. The chicken was high quality and fresh, though I wish it was butchered better as it had some small bones left in. The jerk sauce was perfect heat and spice. Mac N Cheese was like you'd expect from a southern Grandma. The coleslaw was creamy, chopped fine and a great counterbalance to the jerk sauce. My colleague said their claim to have "best wings in Akron" is well founded. They were nice sized, fresh chicken with a coating of sauce with great flavor and not just showered in heat to hide scrawny wings and undeveloped flavor you find at sports bars. I randomly came across this place. The Chicken Parm and Honey BBQ wings were AMAZING!!!!! I ordered a 12 piece. They were FRESH and I only had to wait 15 minutes. I think I paid $10-$11. WELL WORTH IT. The staff was so friendly. The restaurant doesn't have the fanciest look on the outside or inside, it looks like your typical neighborhood restaurants. We ordered the jerk chicken dinner, catfish dinner, wing platter, and fried green tomatoes. Everything was delicious. Jerk chicken was so flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. Perfectly cooked and served on a bed of yellow rice. I also got the cabbage and the greens, both of which were excellent. The catfish was nice and crispy even after we got it home. The breading was perfectly seasoned. My 6yo ended up eating half of it instead of her own dinner. The wings were amazing, and again somehow stayed crispy in the styrofoam container on the drive home. Only complaint with the wings was we asked for the sauce on the side and the sauce was on the wings, but the kids ended up liking the sauce so it wasn't a problem. Fried green tomatoes were good too. Didn't stay as crispy because of the tomato but it didn't stop us from eating every last one. Staff were super nice and even though we arrived at the time given online, part of our order wasn't quite done. They just had us wait in our car and brought it right out to us a few minutes later.
