No regrets whatsoever. After Dimitriy made his inspection, he explained what we needed and made suggestions on improvements, then presented a detailed proposal. Everything was carried out exactly as outlined in the contract. The crew arrived first thing in the morning, big boss Alex stopped by in the afternoon to make sure everything was going well, and by 8 p.m. they were packed up and ready to pull out, leaving our driveway and yard even cleaner than it was before. My experience hasn't been the best…read more The first issue is a roof leak that started 2 months ago. Amherst didn't offer a temp solution and it took them two months to replace. Part of the delay was definitely weather (thankfully the leak was minor), but there was poor communication through that process requiring multiple follow ups on my end so I could have an understanding of progress. The initial estimated time had been 3 weeks (seemed optimistic to me). Two months is obviously a bit of a difference and more than I was expecting, even with weather. Holidays probably came into play, but no communication. Promised communications didn't happen, consistently. I have sympathy due to the weather but the lack of a communication/follow up on promises is a negative mark. Estimate: onsite estimate service was friendly, helpful, and solution oriented. This won me over vs other companies that were "do the minimum" and some just knocked and then left without talking with one that even failed to send an estimate. Pricing was similar to the competitors that responded and sent me a quote. Amherst was only a couple hundred higher. I was willing to pay slightly more based on the positive estimate experience and reviews, but I question the wisdom of that now. Onsite: One of the workers peed on the snow in my back yard. I don't know why they didn't ask for the bathroom, but dude... gross. Don't worry, I didn't photograph. I know people gotta go, been there, but I have a bathroom. Also, my garage door was slightly opened about 6"(currently it's busted because a cable jumped the spool and so it requires work to open and gets stuck unless you work it). It's been closed for days waiting for a warmer/dryer period for me to spend a couple of hours attempting to fix. This makes me suspect the worker who peed in my yard also attempted to access my garage, but my camera didn't capture it so I'm uncertain. Not sure why else it'd be open on the day they did work. It was closed before. Thankfully opening all the way would have made a huge screeching racket, so while I haven't checked I suspect nothing was stolen. They needed a spot for a large dumpster placed in my driveway and cars to be removed. Just heads up that they'll want a dumpster as close to the roof as possible. Colors were slightly different from initial conversations (trim was supposed to be black (based on remembered verbal conversation) but were white. Roof tiles were green and the fact they were a very different green wasn't brought up until installation day. I appreciated it being pointed out but I was a little annoyed it wasn't mentioned on the front end. Cleanup: I didn't understand why reviewers posted about the "good cleanup" jobs of contractors. Oh boy do I understand now. We found 16 nails in our drive way in just five minutes of looking in a 10'x10' space. (Checking this morning: Our deck has nails and in our neighbors driveway I found 4 nails.) Thankfully we still had daylight to check our driveway before parking our cars as I'm pretty sure we'd have lost at least one tire. I'm extremely unhappy about this as magnets exist and can be used to sweep for nails or metal detectors can be used. Those methods would both be cheaper than me replacing my tires and I'd absolutely be looking for reimbursement. Also nails on my wife's office front steps that she didn't notice last night but were twisted and could have caused harm. Her reaction is significantly less calm than my post might indicate as she STRONGLY vented her feelings about it. Thanks Amherst. I had been two stars, but that dropped it to one. Photos: I was promised photos of work done, but they haven't been sent as of this review. The job itself? Ask me in ten to 30 years I guess. I mean, a roof lasting is sort of the bare minimum of expectations. What sucks is that this had seemed the BEST of the contractors I received quotes from and based on Reddit reviews. I've only had a couple positive experiences with Buffalo contractors and I'm not sure if this is a sign of the times or specific to Buffalo. Before COVID when I lived in other states/cities my experiences were significantly better with contractors. Now it feels like there's a bare minimum level of care to do a job well. Paying a little more doesn't seem to have gotten me a little more. Will I use again? Right now that feels unlikely but the other vendors seemed like they would be equally bad so I'd probably check Reddit/yelp for the most recent reviews as things change. At least, in theory, I have a lifetime warranty.

Cary (the owner) came in with the first of several estimates. Of the contractors I contacted, he best understood what I wanted. My house had rotting window frames, uneven bad-looking shake shingle siding that was long past the day I should have done something about it. A house down the street had the look I wanted, and Cary quoted me the price. I also asked about replacing my front and side doors. The siding color I wanted was a special order, so I had to wait a couple weeks for it to be made. It was well worth the wait. Lifetime supplied a brand called "Perfection" and it is truly perfect siding. The siding sections lock together in a way that I don't think even a hurricane would loosen them. All the rotted wood was replaced with Azek trim. The result is my 70-year-old run-down house now looks like a new build. The doors that leaked cold air during the winter are gone. I am very satisfied.

The roof started leaking at the vent pipe location. They first sent a guy who, instead of taking responsibility, completely denied there was any problem with the roof and said the vent pipe itself was the problem as it was rusted. We spent a $100 on getting the vent pipe checked out by an HVAC technician, who told us that the pipe was fine - no issues. So, I had to climb on the roof with a garden hose and run water on the roof to show that it was because of bad roof installation - I sent JP the video of the problem (the flashing of the vent pipe was not properly meshed with the shingles), and only then they agreed to fix it. The second problem is with the gutters, which are still not fixed. There is a gap between the new gutters and the roof, which is letting water to come through the gap. I have been trying to get hold of the person - they have promised to come 4 times over the last month but still have not fixed the problem. I have stayed home from work a couple of times just for it, and they did not even inform me that they were not going to make it that day. All in all, a very bad post-install service - a complete lack of professionalism!

We went with them and a week before they came out they pretreated any moss we had on our roof. On the day of actually spraying the roof they were very professional and caring as to make sure patio furniture was covered. The spraying took a little over a hour. And it darkened our brown roof as it looks new again, also we had lifting of shingles which are now laying flat, this is a very good investment as it adds extra years on our shingles without the cost of replacing our old roof. We decided to go with Big L because they are local and felt like we wanted to support the "little" local company. We signed the contract and off we went. Our doors came in, were installed. They stiffed us on the first installation day, but then showed up unexpectedly a few days later. The problem is, the doors they installed were the wrong color and not what we ordered and the hardware was wrong. One screen was slashed from top to bottom. This wasn't evident until after they were installed. Our house is architecturally significant, and the installer had to create new holes and install hardware where there wasn't hardware before. Big L indicated they could just swap out the doors and get us the right color, but that that would leave us with holes and damage from the original installation. Not optimal. After MONTHS of badgering us for payment, but not making any effort to remedy the wrong hardware or ripped screen, we paid a reduced balance, and are left with doors that don't match our house, aren't what we wanted, and without any service to make it right. Oh, and the screen on one of them is still trashed. I wouldn't recommend Big L. There are lots of small companies out there. Try one of those instead.

I called a few companies for estimates, but David the sales rep from City Fence was the friendliest and most helpful. He suggested I go with half vinyl/half chain link due to the size of my yard to keep costs down. Also had some other suggestions due to the extensive gardens I have in the yard. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive quote I received. After signing the contract, I was told it would be about 8-10 weeks (mid-fall) when they installed. They didn't get to my yard until January for the install and got 90% done within a week. Then- despite several phone calls to City Fence asking them to complete the job- they didn't return until April to put up the last few panels. And they only came out at that point because I refused to pay the final bill they kept sending me until the job was actually completed. Despite the fact that I love the fence and the installers did a great job, they're only getting 3 stars. Seems to be a real lack of communication between the sales reps and installers to let the customers know a realistic time-frame of when we can expect the fence to actually be installed. And then another breakdown between the scheduler and installers to actually get the guys to finish a job.

They came out in a very timely manner to provide a quote. Corvair clearly explains the work he is carrying out and is very knowledgeable at what he does. Their team is hard-working on-site. Upon discovering some further issues, he offered options on how to proceed, some of which involved more work but when he reached those decision points he was very clear and prompt as to what the benefit of the additonal work at the time. I trust the quality and of their work and will keep coming back to Charge Construction. Him and his team do great work and the prices are fair for the quality of service provided. This company was a life saver for me. They completed a very old roof that had been in need of repair for my grandparents. They did a great job, my grandparents are early birds and ready for rest and relaxation early in the day as you can imagine. The workers made sure they did not interrupt this for them. The one worry of my grandma's was her precious flower garden. The workers made sure daily that is was safe and secure for her and went as far as watering it for her before they left for the day. Now a days you do not see that compassion. Just wanted to say thank you and great job. Highly recommend for any roofing job. Buying a fixer upper from myself and whatever needs I have that this company can complete you better bet I will be using Buffalo's Best!! read more

Just finished me new roof. Outstanding job. The crew was the best, professional all the way. I had no problems with any of the crew or workmanship. My roof was installed in a timely manner and the cleanup was the best. I have 2 dogs and I did not have to clean anything so they can go outside. They found problems with my old roof and took pictures and explained all necessary repairs and gave me a cost estimate. I am very pleased with this company and would recommend to all for roofing. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they found an excellent company who removed and re-installed our 22 solar panels before the work was done and after the roof work. The work was done at a price point of about $16,700, which was less than half of what W C Rott quoted. Steve Eglin was absolutely incredible. Our roof looks terrific and is expected to hold up for decades. I recommend these guys highly. There is no reason to find any other company to do your roofing work if Aerial is available to do it for you.

I liked everything about the way he did business, so I went with them. The roofing was done in 1 day and the team of 13 guys he had was efficient clean and very pleasant. A Lead showed up for the delivery of the roofing to make sure it was properly placed to protect my driveway. The team that came to do the siding was just as good. They all seemed very happy to be at their jobs and just did a fantastic job. I had all the windows and doors rewrapped and had all new gutters. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

Ava had to come back to fix the issues we (as homeowners) uncovered, like: -used finishing nails instead of roofing nails in high wind areas -not tarring over exposed nails -had rippling of shingles in the back of the house -ridge vent didn't get added to the full roof -broke a beam and originally used a 2x4 on one side, didn't even notify me that this happened. -didn't cut soffits where they were supposed to -put feet through our ceiling in 2 areas and I discovered it on my own They fixed all these things properly and quickly, but only after I called to explain the same sub contractors they sent back originally, didn't do a good job fixing some of them. So then I asked for their actual internal installers to come out and fix. When they did that (sent Billy), the craftsmanship was much better. Now, 4 months after installation, my brand new bathroom vents are blowing air back in and not as strong anymore. We discover it's because of the way they installed the the roof vents. The grates are pushing up against the opening so they can't open fully. I'm beyond frustrated that poor installation caused all these issues to appear! Although Ava has come out each time, if I was an uneducated home owner, I would not necessarily be able to find these issues and push to get them fixed. If you choose to use them, make sure it's not a subcontractor doing the work and that they are using their internal team.

My experience with this company was extremely disappointing because I was dealing with a warranty repair, not an optional new service call. That should have made the process straightforward. Instead, the experience felt like avoidance, defensiveness, and poor customer service. When a business provides a warranty, that warranty should mean something. It is not just language used to close a sale. It is a commitment that if something goes wrong during the covered period, the business will take the issue seriously, inspect the problem in good faith, communicate professionally, and make a reasonable effort to resolve it. Rather than being helpful or responsive, they were rude and dismissive. The tone was not that of a company trying to stand behind its work or honor its obligations. It felt like they were looking for reasons to brush off the issue, minimize the concern, and avoid responsibility. That is especially frustrating when the customer has already paid and is only asking the business to address a covered problem. The communication was poor, the attitude was unprofessional, and the handling of the warranty issue was unacceptable. A warranty repair should not require the customer to chase the business, argue to be taken seriously, or tolerate dismissive treatment. If a customer reports a problem, the response should be prompt and respectful. Instead, this experience made it seem like customer service ended once payment was received. Problems can happen with any job. What matters is how the business responds. A reputable company addresses warranty issues directly, communicates clearly, and treats the customer with basic respect. Based on my experience, I would not use them again and would not recommend them. Save yourself the frustration and hire someone else.

I needed a roof done for my house in WNY and Black Rock Roofing came highly recommended. I reached…read moreout for at least two other quotes, and while the other quotes were competitive what made Black Rock stand out was Joe's continued persistence and communication. The quotes were all very similar. The biggest unknown with this particular roof was the damaged plywood underneath. Communication was clear that the quote included 5 sheets of plywood and anything above that would cost more. Well, unfortunately - we did indeed have to have more than those 5 sheets and they came in at a hefty $85/sheet. A bit more than some of the other quotes received. All in all, I paid about $900 more than initially quoted, but the communication throughout the process was good and the quality of workmanship seems great. Hopefully won't have to do this again soon. Also, I live in California so being able to manage this process remotely was amazing and thus a vendor with great communication was much needed. Thank you to the staff at Black Rock Roofing! Hope I won't have to call you again anytime soon ;)
