Went with a large group this weekend and the overall consensus was the food was bland and mediocre. Two of the guests liked the honey chicken as the only thing (besides the Ice Cream - that's a nice touch) The place is large and they offer quite a bit - the salad bar is good, although the dressing leaves a bit to be desired. That's where the good ends besides the ice cream bar. Most of what I had tried had zero flavor, and some items had a downright unusual and bad taste. There was a small cake that had an aftertaste of ashes that reminded me of cigars (weird!), and the pasta with red sauce was horrible - tangy, tin-can aftertaste, freezing cold. The best thing that was actually made in their kitchen were these large, buttery rolls. Even my son disliked the shrimp - and he loves shrimp. He asked me how someone could mess up shrimp. They had three options; he tried the cocktail shrimp version. We all dared each other to try the Peach Bun with Red Bean Paste - it was so unusual looking, but we figured we'd be adventurous. All five of us were surprised it had zero flavor - we could tell the spongy texture, but the paste itself could have been anything else similar in texture since the flavor was completely absent. So I work in winter haven, just started a few months ago and my office team said this place is good, better than panda. I came with my son on my day off and we did the buffet, they do have quite an assortment. The only thing is it was 2pm and some items were nice fresh and hot and some had been sitting for a while and were cold. For example the Rangoons or wontons were soggy because they were cold they weren't crispy as they should be. The egg rolls were ok but again not hot would have appreciated better temperatures. I think if you could early enough you probably would enjoy your food here. So key is to come early not late like we did., and I must add it was on the expensive side, don't eat the puff pastry you'll regret it lol read more

Finally a Chinese Buffet that is clean and welcoming! The variety of food items is outstanding and what is supposed to be hot is hot, and what is supposed to be cold is cold. We go for lunch 2-3 a month. They have a peanut butter chicken that I really enjoy and haven't found at other buffets.

Depends on when you show up....but over all huge selection and has Mongolian Grill. Bathrooms are disputing and they are ALWAYS out of hand sanitizer....ALWAYS... Searched hi and low for a place for crab legs, this turned out to be the only game in town. Food was mostly good, management and customer satisfaction though, AWEFUL! First they expected to split our group of sixteen to several tables, argued with me for 15 minutes (I'm in the business more than 30 years!), THEN made two tables move to shove us to the back of the room, THEN turned the AC off! When I called in the morning to book the table I specifically asked if the crab legs were included in the buffet, and was told yes. When I went up, it turns out that they're $10 extra, on TOP of the buffet. Needless to say we will NOT be returning. This place is great for the price for lunch. You can truly get full and eat as much as you want. The food is good being that I'm sure it gets cooked quick because it being a buffet, with that being said sometimes when I go there I feel as if I'm rushed to eat. The waitress will hover around the table or near you and watch and try to bring the check early when we clearly are not finished. I understand it's not a place to stay all day but after a second plate they bring the check ? Be careful about eating the seafood here; I found a baby crab in my clams. I spoke to the "manager," and he said that it's normal and there is no issue, I'm not sure how a baby crab passed through their seafood cleaning process. read more

My wife and I were horrified recently while there. They are allowing people to walk around without wearing a mask or face covering. People were milling around the steam tables picking food out of the trays with their fingers and eating it. We complained to the Manager, Shane, who simply dismissed us saying that he doesn't require masks to be worn any more. He also recently removed all of the signs suggesting masks be worn. Just got back from Buffet City in Winter Haven. Was driving by and realized it was before 4:00 , So I stopped for the senior early bird special. First note it's gone up to $ 9,99. When I went up for a second helping I noticed signs in front of some of the items "Dinner Only", I didn't give it much notice.. As it turns out if you eat from the " Dinner Only" offerings the waitress takes notice and charges you the dinner price $ 13.99. There aren't any signs explaining this and the rude guy that collects your money at the front counter is useless. I know I'm not the only senior that enjoys the early bird special, so I'm betting they are going to get a lot of feedback as the snowbirds are starting to roll in. read more

Lots of sushi was pretty fresh, but upon closer inspection, was simply the same ingredients put together in different ways (mostly imitation crab, cream cheese, and avocado with some salmon mixed in). Everything else was covered with sugary sauce, fried, and generally crappy. My Daughter and I went in for lunch, let's start by saying how rude the staff were as soon as we sat down. The waitress seemed to be mad at the world, we tried to look past it and just assume she's having a bad day. All of the food was cold! Buffett City just opened up in Port Charlotte, Florida and we went and tried it on Easter Sunday. Would not recommend this place to my dog. I give it 5 stars for quality of food, price, and taste. As all buffets go, you should use your own judgment when selecting the buffet items. The staff refresh the buffet as needed so if you want fresh food of any item just watch for the buffet to be serviced. The drinks are beer and wine, and the fountain soda is really good, the tea is great as well. This place has a sushi selection already made (I counted more than 8 varieties on my last trip). My favorite here is the hot & sour soup which is honestly the reason why I visit. This our 2nd visit here at Beffet City. Both visits have been very enjoyable. We absolutely love there wonderful hibachi selection and the same cook has been there each time grilling our meal to perfection! The sushi selection is plentiful and all very fresh. The buffet had so many choices all of good quality and perfect temperatures. I personally have tried to sample it all before review. The deserts and ice cream were delicious to top it off. The owner was present on both visits and seemed very serious about making sure everything is ran properly so that we as guests enjoy our meals and keep coming back. I really liked that. I was there for their Sunday lunch the price for Sunday lunch is a special only $10.99. For all the variety of food that they offer is definitely worth it. Lots of fresh food all the time they also include a hibachi cook during that time, pick your meat and vegetables and he will cook it for you right in front of you at the hibachi station. The place was slammed and had a 20-30 minute wait. I've never seen that before at a Chinese buffet. The line wrapped all the way through the front and outside into the parking lot. Wow The place was great! They had a hibachi grill and sushi bar. I would normally stay away from sushi at a buffet, but I decided to be adventurous and give it a try since they had a sushi chef making it fresh. It was a pleasant surprise. Well done and better than some of the sushi bars I've been to that specialize. The hibachi grill was great and good entertainment for them cooking in front of you. They had most of the choices that a true hibachi grill. Good quality. We were so full at this point that we skipped the traditional buffet Chinese items. The fried donuts were the best for dessert. The cakes were dry and not worth eating. The fruits were all good and the sweet sauces were great for fruit topping.
