The place was slammed and had a 20-30 minute wait. I've never seen that before at a Chinese buffet. The line wrapped all the way through the front and outside into the parking lot. Wow The place was great! They had a hibachi grill and sushi bar. I would normally stay away from sushi at a buffet, but I decided to be adventurous and give it a try since they had a sushi chef making it fresh. It was a pleasant surprise. Well done and better than some of the sushi bars I've been to that specialize. The hibachi grill was great and good entertainment for them cooking in front of you. They had most of the choices that a true hibachi grill. Good quality. We were so full at this point that we skipped the traditional buffet Chinese items. The fried donuts were the best for dessert. The cakes were dry and not worth eating. The fruits were all good and the sweet sauces were great for fruit topping. However, I've never had good cake desserts at any Chinese buffets so I'm not holding that against them. read more

I was there for their Sunday lunch the price for Sunday lunch is a special only $10.99. For all the variety of food that they offer is definitely worth it. Lots of fresh food all the time they also include a hibachi cook during that time, pick your meat and vegetables and he will cook it for you right in front of you at the hibachi station. Also, they include a Sushi station with a hand full of different rolls and a few nigiri. The staff was very friendly and attentive and very courteous. Most of them speak English, Spanish, and Manderine. Their restrooms were clean and with sufficient supplies. Plenty of parking space in an average size shopping center. We went to Buffet City for supper last night to fill our periodic Chinese craving. We entered at about 6:30 pm and got seated. All the trays were full however when we started eating the temperature of the food was only warm. One of my favorite dishes is General Tso's Chicken which tasted fine until I got a tainted piece of chicken. Needless to say I was up half the night sick. I recently purchased a vacation home nearby, and I am on what seems like a never ending search for good Chinese and Sushi in Central FL. Buffet City had better reviews that some, but frankly was no better or worse than others I've tried so far. The food was ok/good. The selection was vast, and included lots of salad, and non Chinese offerings. The Sushi selection was large. It seemed to be fresh as the Avacado was bright green. The Rice was not good...very heavy. Service was lacking. We had plates stacked up on the table before they stopped by to clear. The server had a bit of an attitude. I will not go back, if only because there are equal quality places closer to my home. Also, I have not given up my search. read more

Tons of selections, hibachi bar was GREAT- and I don't like sushi but guy was making it fresh and there was about 20 different selections! Lots of shrimp dishes, desserts, and assortments of everything! All food was plentiful and good and hot!! I couldn't even try everything i wanted to try!! Amazing buffet. Everything here was just absolutely perfect. The chicken was tender and jam packed with flavor. The wong tongs were soft and served hot. The sushi was incredibly fresh, some of the best I've ever had, and the fact it was at a buffet, just incredible. The restaurant was nice and well kept, fountains and fancy chandeliers spread about. They have all the standard Chinese desserts you would expect, and some American ones that you wouldn't, like chocolate chip cookies. Overall this was an easy 5/5, would highly recommend read more

Everyone enjoyed dinner. Saturday around 6pm all fresh, yummy & great price. $31 for 3 adults. No drinks & we didn't order up crab legs. My husband wasn't thrilled about the egg rolls. Chicken choices & coconut shrimp were excellent. They have roast beef, pasta dishes & also salmon​ if someone doesn't care for oriental food. My husband and I go to Buffet City regularly. We love the Mongolian BBQ at the back near the sushi bar. You can pick whatever you want and have it stir fried with your choice of sauce. It is always fantastic, piping hot and delicious! We also add to our plate their sweet and sour chicken, Hawaiian chicken and green beans with garlic. Everything I have had there is really good. Their soups; dim sum; coconut pineapple ice-cream; and red bean sesame balls are also favorites. This is a restaurant where seniors can get a free drink with an affordable lunch (even on a Saturday) There is something for everyone, even American food (pizza, roast beef, salmon and an unlimited salad bar). Newly remodeled with new owners, this location for years was Imperial Buffet, the went under a different name and it was TERRIBLE, but the new owners remodeled the location, its fresh and new. This is again a great place to eat in Winter Haven, especially if you are super hungry and want to get A LOT for a little money, plus I always keep my Best Community Values coupon that I get in the mail, knocks off another 3 bucks The service is friendly and adequate, but come on its an all you can eat buffet so they pretty much just bring your drinks and clear your table of plates. There are six buffet tables to choice from,one is a American food,one is desert table, and the rest are all your favorite Chinese foods. Including egg rolls a large variety of sushi and seafood, sweet and sour Chicken, pepper steak and my personal favorite Shrimp in Lobster Sauce. On Friday and Saturday, you can get AYCE crab legs as on add on for only 6.99. If you come for lunch you can feed yourself and a date for under 10 backs apiece, if you come at dinner you can feed the two of you for just under $15 bucks apiece. On the plus side, I didn't throw up yet and I left the place 2 hours ago. It was a totally disgusting dining experience. The sushi was so-so. The shrimps were definitely frozen and they were mushy. The hibachi (beef & broccoli with garlic sauce) was tasteless. The desserts sucked. The mussels were in a sauce that had no taste. I guess in this case, you do get what you pay for. Love going to this buffet! It is clean, has nice decor and the staff is friendly. There is a very large selection to choose from. I love nearly everything I'v tried. On rare occasion certain dishes aren't as good as on other days, but all in all its really good. I enjoy the fried fish, baked chicken, cabbage and donuts. I don't order from the Mongolian bar, my husband does although he finds the spicing not up to par for his taste. They have tons of deserts. No matter what your taste you should be able to find things to satisfy yourself. The price point is excellent! I think its the best buffet in the area! read more

Buffet City blows the normal stereotype for Chinese buffet out of the water, we just left with our stomachs full and no complaints. Everything was fresh, and visually appealing, never once did I see some one putting new food on top of old or letting the pans sit empty. A very clean and laid back establishment, the owner was walking around constantly to make sure every customer was doing ok. Me and my fiance walked out paying $27.35 plus tip of course. $10.99 per person and if you want all you can't eat snow crab legs it's an extra $6.99. We will definitely be going back. read more

The thing I enjoyed most was the wide assortment of food. The lunch price is very affordable, though my party and I came at an off time where there were not many customers. My biggest concern was that the sushi would be bad and/or improperly prepared and I would get food poisoning but to my great relief all the sushi was kept at the proper temperature and was properly prepared. The chef was very clean and kind, introducing every roll and replacing the ones that sat there too long with fresh ones. Everything smelled fresh, the resturaunt was very clean and they have a beautiful Koin pond inside! The staff and servers were very kind and quick with bringing drinks and taking away old plates. They have American food such as chicken nuggets, french fries, and cheese pizza which is very good for kids, though I didn't try them they looked appetizing enough. The best part of any buffet is the many foods that are offered but here, nearly every food I tried was delicious. With the exception of a few things that I personally did not like, the food was excellent. They even had a hibachi station where a chef would prepare whatever you wanted right there in front of you after you chose from an assortment of ingredients. Again, the resturaunt was very clean and tidy. Everytime you finished a plate and got up for another the waitress would take away the old plates and wipe the table clean. If food or drink spilled there was someone right there to clean it up. As soon as a portion of food ran out it was replaced immedietly. All the hot food was kepy hot and all the cold food kept cold. I definately reccomend and I will be returning for lunch again soon. read more

Our food was wonderful, fresh, and we never waited for anything because the servers were constantly cleaning the bar and refilling the food. I will never go to this Buffet ever again I have a service dog very well trained I have all her paperwork and her insurance card everything they denied me service because I have a service dog I was told that I must leave their restaurant and they will not allow me to eat there because of my service dog this dog is not a therapy dog it's not a traumatic. I eat here at least 3 times a month. I have tried Lings in Lakeland and was very disappointed. It was not nearly as good as Buffet City. I don't understand the poor reviews. My food is always great. I usually go for lunch but sometimes for dinner to get the raw oysters. It is such a deal that I can't pass it up. The peanut chicken at lunch is wonderful as are the mussels. Peel and eat shrimp at lunch are always done just right. Soups are great and the sushi is made right in front of you. What's not to like? Maybe the poor reviews were anomalies. read more
