My husband was actually with me and enjoyed the concept of the bookstore that is filled with legos, books of all ages, and of course the cute mascot, Buffy. Let me begin by saying that I am a BIG time book lover and Buffy's Book Boutique is a veritable heaven for book lovers, lego lovers, tarot & oracle readers, children, coffee lovers, people who love to journal, and anyone that just enjoys a good game of Pac Man! The energy in this store was incredible. So much love has been poured into every single thing. I was so delighted and I encourage everyone to go and see this place for yourself, because it's awesome! Pure joy! We were given free cocoa & coffee with our purchase. Did you hear me? Free coffee! I'll say it again - FREE COFFEE! Seriously, who could resist that? Thanks to Daniel Q (fellow Yelper), I discovered this cozy, warm, and homey bookstore. Upon entering I was greeted by the lovely and delightful Ashley. Being it was my first time, she walked me around the store and showed me where everything was. She made me feel so welcome. This bookstore is fairly new on the scene but hoping it sticks around for a long time. They carry new and used books. The books are broken down by category and a separate table features new releases. Along with books, they have some incredible Lego sets that you may purchase. Many are set up adding to the decor of the store. Also they carry journals, pens, snacks and gifts. The store is named after Buffy their dog. Many of the new books offer a Buffy discount which is fantastic. I have never been in a bookstore that gives a discount on new books. Thank you Buffy! They also take donated books in good condition. I donated some today. The walls are painted and decorated so beautifully and I enjoyed the sitting areas, the kids area and all of the Lego setups. So colorful and vibrant. I ended up purchasing a book I have been wanting to read and the price included the Buffy discount. Yay! Be sure to grab a Buffy Newsletter before leaving the store. This newsletter gives you all the info on upcoming new fiction, tales for tots and even includes a word search at the end. They also offer online shopping. Lovely store, lovely associates (humans & pup!), great selection, great vibes! I was visiting from California & decided to take a trip off-Strip to check out some local Vegas fun. Buffy's was a great choice! The store is clean & there is so much to look at besides browsing for books. I also appreciated that their inventory is on their website so I was easily able to see if they had what I was looking for & where to find them on the shelves. Buffy is an actual dog for those that don't know the lore, haha! She was there that day, extremely gentle & friendly. She allowed us to pet her & my mom ended up sitting with her for awhile as I continued shopping. It was very therapeutic. Stopped in with my kiddos today after seeing this business pop up on instagram. They were having a little scavenger hunt promo which was lots of fun for me and my 4 year old! Even though we didn't win, we had so much fun. There's a large selection of books of different genres as well as other things you'd expect to find at a store like this. Stickers, bookmarks, candles, etc. What was completely unexpected was the wide array of Legos and games! I am not a big Lego person but I couldn't help but admire the different builds they had on display. Some of them even moved! My kid was so impressed. There was also a great section specifically for kiddos that had a Lego table and an area to look at books. I tend to read on my Kobo and the only physical books I purchase are my "trophies", books I rate 5 stars or higher, and I was excited to find out that you also can support the shop through bookshop.org/shop/buffysbooks if you're an ebook reader. They also have a small selection of used books and we found a book to add to my kiddos' collection as well as a board game. We will definitely be back! read more

What a cool book store! If they don't have the book you want, they can most likely order for you. The prices are the same as if I bought it on Amazon or at a chain bookstore. So I rather support my local businesses and buy from them. Even if it's a couple bucks more I would still buy it from local businesses over big corporations! The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. They also sell Lego sets and have a bunch built on display. There's a clean restroom and lots of free parking out front. This is my new go to store for books and Lego for sure! Theres comfortable couches and chairs to sit and relax for a bit. Theres also arcade games for paying customers (kids) while parents shops around. I definitely recommend Buffy's Book Boutique! read more

This isn't a traditional book store. They mainly have the most popular current Fiction authors with Special edition covers from Walmart (not that they are labeled as from Walmart, I know this because they've been doing Special editions using graphics on the outward facing pages for years now, usually labeled as a Walmart exclusive.) My issue is there are many shelves that just contain duplicates, because they aren't filling the shelves with all titles, just stuff they think will sell (the person working that day told me as much when I asked about the lack of variety). And they have some used books but again, this selection isn't very big. Some prices are marked down, some not. They do have varied topics so if it's a self help or something like that you may find it, but you'll probably pay regular price for it. They have many Lego sets on display (none for selling I'm pretty sure) that make it interesting to walk around and look at for a few minutes. And a little play area for children which is thoughtful. But the store used to be bigger apparently, and they couldn't afford it, so they blocked half of it and it's behind some black cloth panels and bars. It looks awful. The murals of the "owner" Buffy are cute but she's not there very much supposedly, which again loses the appeal for me because other reviews claim interaction with her and I thought this was a unique feature for the store. I'm not saying don't bother, but this little store doesn't have much appeal after one visit. It's not a 'book boutique' curating specialty books and shelves of wonder, rather a sad attempt to be greater than appearance. They have a loyalty program, which is very odd considering they don't have much to keep people coming back. Perhaps people in the area just walk there, guessing mainly young teenagers, given the amount of Twilight and Harry Potter? We also weren't greeted when we came in, though there was maybe 3 other people there and we literally had to walk past the person at the register. He came to 'check in' after everyone had left. read more

I found this bookstore earlier this summer, and I'm enchanted by the look and feel of the place. It has everything a child (or a child at heart) needs: books, games and Legos. Each time I come in, I slowly peruse that stacks as well as look at all the Lego displays, jealous that they have the space I wish I had in my home. If I have time, I'll even play some of the free arcade games for a few minutes. I can't help but buy a book for myself or to give to a friend. There's something for everyone here! I was also lucky enough to meet Buffy on one visit. But I learned the Buffy isn't in the office all the time, leaving work to the employees. What a fun store!! The space is vibrant, welcoming and features pictures of an adorable dog. I was pleasantly surprised by the book selection. There were books for all ages and interests, nicely displayed and easy to find. Many even had a "Buffy discount" making them very well priced. In addition to the books, they have a marvelous collection of Lego. They had sets for sale that I had never seen. And they have a dazzling collection of built sets to admire. They were many other adorable gift items, games, puzzles, etc. We enjoyed our visit, took home some excellent books and are planning to be back soon. read more

This store as an avid reader and collector of books for home library was a total waste of my time. First and foremost they are prince gouging anyone who steps into this store on the items with black marking on the bottom of book. I asked about 3 items and the young lady who checked me out for the one book I did purchase. This store is full of books with REMAINDER MARKS on them that are priced at actual cost or over cost. These items are deeply discounted books unsold by publishers and sold to this store at DEEP DISCOUNTS. Why would this business think that anyone in their right mind would pay you for OLD/USED item publishing price or more knowing you purchased books for pennies on the dollar? The store is not really that engaging when you take time to look through available items. It is all old stock books and ridiculously high mark ups. The condition of the books being that they are to BE NEW, MARKED not to be returned is suspect also. I would not purchase or display these items in their NEW condition in my personal library. If you just want to look okay, to buy I would recommend another book store. read more

I love the vibe of the place, there's nothing like it. This has got to be one of the cutest independent book stores I've ever seen. As we all know, these are a dying species, which makes supporting them even more important. This bookstore has something for everyone. It even has an adorable little arcade corner and a Lego set up for your little ones while you browse for a classic murder mystery. The best part is that you get greeted by the store mascot, a friendly pup named Buffy who will completely melt your heart. What an awesome new addition to Las Vegas! I've driven past this place several times and finally made it in! When we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and upbeat energy. We brought our pup with us and the staff asked if they could say hello and offered a snack and an adorable Buffy's bookstore bandana for him. They then asked if he was dog friendly and they brought out the star of the show,Buffy,to say hello. This place has amazing customer service and such a welcoming feel. They encouraged us to let our pup stroll around while we looked at books. They have a good assortment of books and they are very organized. If they don't have the book you're looking for they have a website you can purchase most books from that gives a portion of the proceeds to Buffy's! Besides books they have lots of cool stuff like stickers, puzzles, pens, magnets. They also had some old arcade games available to play(great way to keep the kids entertained while parents shop for a new book). This place is a hidden gem. I'm not sure what I was expecting but this place exceeded my expectations. I was surprised how well stocked and thought out this little bookstore is. It has whimsical murals all over the store, a mini arcade (PAC-Man, Frogger, Galaga, etc.), comfy places to sit throughtout, Lego building stations and tons of classic and new books (both new and used). If you have ever wondered what a certain Lego set looks like completed (Eiffel Tower, Harry Potter everything, Star Wars, technics, cities, castles, etc.), this bookstore has it on display. I'm not kidding. They have a ton of Legos all over the store! They also have an adorable children's section. Last but not least the people working on the day I visited were so helpful and kind. Visited the newest (and super cute) book store in the Vegas Valley. Buffys is located in a strip mall off of South Durango and there is plenty of parking available. My two littles and I were greeted by Buffy, the adorable dog that this bookstore was named after. Upon walking in, my kids were immediately in heaven as there are plenty of things for them to do while I browsed the shelves - from looking at the many intricate Lego displays set up in the middle of the store, to arcade games and individual Lego tables. Seriously the best idea ever to put those here - it gave me about 10 minutes of peace to browse through the wide selection of books at this store. I found two books, and my kids found two small toys that they had to have. Usually going to a big box chain book store, this would have been an expensive trip, but it wasn't bad at all seeing as Buffy has some great prices! I will be back soon!!! read more

What a gem this place is! I had them on my radar since seeing an instagram post and this place offered so much more than what was posted online. I came with my husband and my daughter and we were immediately drawn to the Harry Potter Lego/book display. We were greeted by the friendly staff, they let me and my daughter wear the Lego Sorting Hat which was so cool. They showed us all the motorized Lego displays in the store. Now the books, they have limited editions, signed by the author books, a separate table for bestsellers, books from local authors. You can say 'I can buy them from Amazon or I listen to audio books', but it feels so different being surrounded by physical books and being able to buy them and take them home right there and then. Everyone is knowledgeable if you have any question on their merchandise. Prices of items are reasonable and comparable to bookstores and online stores. The best part is being able to say hi to Buffy! Buffy is so relaxed and chill, posed for photos and then went back. We're definitely visiting again and I highly recommend this place. Check them out! read more

Great selection but kind of pricey and a ton of non-book products (LEGO) that were kind of like being in a hobby store. No dog on the weekend but even Buffy must need a day off.
