For a LONG time, I had been wanting to come here. Mostly because of the aesthetic and the history of this historic home in the Massillon community. I had never really heard much about the food, but I found it to be pretty delicious. It's not a cheap dinner by any stretch and this is more of a special-occasion type of venue. It was my birthday and though I don't really like to celebrate (or admit to) my birthday anymore, it was a nice place to try. My family, party of six, was seated in a room upstairs by ourselves. Cool little private dining alcove, painted with dark walls and sexy, almost what I would consider Halloweenesque, decor. Yessss, now they are singing my SONG. Service was good. Don't expect to get bread or any added extras with your meal. Pretty straightforward. We did try a couple of their specialty cocktails. The "Black Moon Rising" cocktail was a fun novelty, served in a skull-shaped mug, but it was a little sweet for my taste. The "Fashionably Late" was solid (similar to an old fashioned). Many things on the menu did seem to have a degree of spiciness, and it is not really a place that children would find something that they love. My son had the portobello mushrooms, which were okayyyyy, but very garlicky and peppery for a five year old's taste. I had the lemon shrimp and rice, which was just delicious. I loved it. My son liked that too and I think he probably would have enjoyed another order of that more than what he ordered. The French onion soup was hearty and good. Someone else in our party had the steak, which I tasted (yum) and the mahi mahi, which I did not get to taste, so it MUST have been good. Slice of HUGE birthday cake for dessert. Pro tip: don't order coffee with dessert. The coffee is weak and not good for $4.50 a cup. Anyhow, overall, I think it was a good dining experience, although I might make some different choices next time. Oh, and it IS allegedly haunted, but the hostess, nor the server know the details of the stories. Something about a dentist and a murder and another story about a little girl. My curiousity is piqued. Very nice place, nice staff but food mediocre like others said. My wife got a sandwich that was $20 and it came with a couple chips, so she added a side of potatoes which was an extra $9 for each side. A lot of their meals don't come with adequate sides, so expect to spend an additional $9 just to get enough food. read more

We've only been once for dinner and once for drinks but this is a really great local place. Service is always good. Really cute inside, they've left all the original woodworking and it feels true to the time. Food was good and decent portions. Fun date night spot! read more

The venue was great, enjoy places like this. We were seated in a room with a 4 top, right next to us was a table with 10 people, there was no room to breathe. Those 10 people were yelling to communicate with each other in this small area. We could not talk or hear each other. This place is like a sports bar or Irish Pub. People were loud and music was loud. And the food, well don't expect good food. Crab caked were no golden on outside, but 1 notch above burned. If you are a cow, the messed up small salad might be enjoyable. Pork chop was burned and sauce horrible. The food was absolutely phenomenal!! I had the gnocchi and it just melted in your mouth, so delicious!!! The brussel sprouts were also amazing! My dad had the scallops and the blackened on them were excellent and done just perfect! The brownie desert was perfect between gooey and crunchy! The salmon was also great! Drinks were just how we like them! The espresso martini was great and I tried the Lavender martini it was sweet and refreshing! Our server Jackie went above and beyond! We picked this place to celebrate our son's 16th birthday and it was disappointing. The quality of the food and service is not worth the price. Not to mentioned I sent a note saying that this was a special occasion and we wanted to make this day special for our son but there was nothing special about it. Wow! My husband and I found this place on a whim while coming to the area to pick some other food up. We made reservations here the following weekend and decided to give it a try. I love the atmosphere of the place, we chose standard dining so we got this really cozy feel by the fireplace. It was very nice! Our food was fantastic! For an appetizer we had the crab cakes! I am picky about my crab cakes and these were stellar! For entrees, I had the portobello mushrooms on zucchini noodles and my husband had the lamb chops! I crave my dish all the time! For dessert we have the beignets and cheesecake with caramel sauce. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious and is something else I also crave constantly to this day! The only thing was our service was a little slower but we weren't really in a rush, we wanted to have a nice dinner, so that was not a big deal to us! Great job Social at the Stone House! New restaurant that just opened in Massillon in July 2021 and it has a really nice atmosphere with plenty of character. The building built before the civil war doesn't have the traditional restaurant feel. Lots of interesting decor and homey touches. The music seemed a little out of place initially (techno remixes of easy listening pop) but did a nice job of adding some anonymity to conversations and was a pleasant addition. They have an enticing cocktail menu and we started with a round of drinks. The mojito was well balanced and the "fashionably late" take on a classic old fashioned was outstanding. We opted for soup and salad in place of appetizers but would probably choose differently next time. The house salad was passable and the French onion was average. The meat dishes were the stand out - top notch, I ordered the Chicken Thighs with Chorizo and my wife ordered the Strip Steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned expertly and finished with a delectable gravy. The "frites" were thin cut fair type fries - not the steak style fries my wife expected. The chicken and chorizo was served in a flavorful broth and laden with peppers and seasoning. The side dishes are offered a la carte and we did order the spinach. It was excellent. Probably would have enjoyed rice or mashed potatoes with the chicken fish. Biggest area of improvement would be the service. Our server was pleasant but wasn't around very often. We would have liked some side dish recommendations, specials, salt and pepper offered, just a generally more experienced server for a higher end place. The food is very good, however the service was not great. Everything took forever, had to ask for app plates, and we got second drinks but didn't get offered any additional and in fact the server took away the one diners wine glass and we hadn't even eaten and never asked If we wanted more. Our meals were almost an hour after our appetizer. The server "apologized" for how long it took by making an excuse after we already had our checks. Dear Yelpers, My wife isn't the biggest social butterfly...but after this trip to the Stone House, she is for SURE a Socialite now! I honestly don't think there was anything we didn't like about our meal. I got the Caesar Parmesan chicken breast and it was amazing. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavors jumped off the fork with each bite. Even tasted good with the zucchini noodles, and I'm not a zucchini guy. My wife had the short rib sliders that were tasty but definitely a smaller plate so if you're hungry, probably want to avoid that one. We also got to try a couple appetizers. The BBQ chicken flatbread was honestly probably worthy of being its own meal. Even with the pickles, it was a table favorite. To top it off, we finished with pretty much all the desserts you can think of. The doughnuts were small, sweet, and delicious. The cheesecake was pretty good and the gluten free carrot cake was actually tasty! It did have a little bit of a different texture. BUT the real gem is the wine menu. They have red wines that will blow your socks off! (And probably hurt your wallet...) but if you are looking for a good cab you'll definitely find it here! The building has an incredible ambiance and the bartenders where friendly. The food options and quality remind me of some of the best restaurants in Cleveland, so I am happy to see something of this caliber this pop up in Massillon. Let's start off with the location. This establishment is sandwiched between Little Caesar's and a gas station in a sketchy neighborhood. Don't let this alarm you because you will 100% be surprised when you walk through the front door. This converted home into a restaurant appears to boast 3 floors with an eclectic charm. We were warmly greeted and immediately taken up the hard wood stairs to the second floor. The table was nicely decorated and the aesthetics in the front room were on point. This is the place to make you feel special. The backyard that was converted to an outside turnkey social will warm you up. The servers were dressed in Halloween costumes and definitely all attentive and kind. This was the first time in a long time where it appeared that they had enough staff. The cocktails were served within minutes of being ordered and started the night off right. As an appetizer, aka Small Plate, I had the crab cake. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was topped with 2 grilled shrimp. On a scale from 1 to 10. I rate the crab cakes 5. Sorry, I'm from Baltimore. The shrimp were a 10. My French onion soup came out with my wife and daughters salads. My score for this crock is 8.5. My main dish were the Scallops. The Scallops were a 9. The presentation of everything was 10; however the Jalapeño Cream Corn needed some love. Too bad the tables didn't have salt and pepper shakers on the tables. The accompanying corn was a 4. I love corn. My wife's small plate was the VooDoo Shrimp which she loved. She gave that a 10. Her Beet salad was devoured. I believe she may have even licked the plate. Her main dish was the Baked Salmon and she gave that a 10 also. She ordered a side of Wasabi Mash Potatoes. She enjoyed them (7) but for me I would recommend salt and pepper, plus butter. I gave the mash an epic miss. You might want to consider putting French fries or Wedge Potatoes on the menu. It's atypical not to have this option. My daughter passed on her Caesar salad; which is her favorite. She gave it a 3. For her main dish she had the Caesar chicken sandwich and she described it as scrumptious. She wasn't thrilled with the potato chips, but that's where those fries could have come in handy. "You've got to add them." We refrained from dessert, but all of the selections were described very well. We took the remainder of our meals home. Because this location is only 10 minutes from my home, I want this place to do very well. My constructive feedback is only to enhance the nice experience that we had for further visits. Suggestion: I would rotate the Tater Tots Skewers out (a little dry) and place Truffle Fries on the menu. No need to have 2 types of mash on the menu and tater tots. Did I mention, fries? We were seated on the second floor near the fireplace and greeted immediately. Cindy was our server and was very good at what she does. Knew the menu and prep of everything we asked about and just had a great personality to go with it. I had the pork chop and my wife had the filet. Both dishes were spot on and a starter small plate baked feta was delish. Drink were a good pour. Only thing was no coffee or after dinner drinks at the third floor bar after dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful. Well kept clean yet as a restaurant beyond terrible I ordered a french 75,simple cocktail which they managed to serve it as juice. Cloudy and really not good Dinners were inedible. Their chicken came with mushy topping. Shrimp i think was boiled so unappealing Spinach was waterlogged. Generally, if the service doesn't improve it's not a great experience. Food isn't great either so like... why go? The house is beautiful but that can't be all you offer. The building and the decorations are awesome, very nice especially for the holiday. I felt the menu was limited but I could get the filet and be ok. So I get a filet 8 oz which was ok but not $54 ok! Waitress taking our order takes my entree order then moves along to the next person. Oh I'm sorry I guess I didn't want a side or a salad. Anyway my wife and I just spent $250 on a shrimp appetizer, 8 oz filet, 4 scallops, 1/2 beet salad, Brussel sprouts, and 2 drinks. If that sounds fair to you then you will like this place. My husband made reservations for my birthday/our 2 year anniversary. We were seated in a small room with several other couples and we could barely hear each other over the noise. With 2 kids and 2 dogs, a quiet meal is hard to come by, so don't come here if that's something you value in a night out. Meals were disappointing, couldn't substitute out my side (zucchini noodles) which would've been fine if they remembered to salt them. Baked Feta was tasty. Salads good. Cesear salad should be tossed in the dressing vs bringing on side. Pecan crusted chicken moist but way too much crust on the chicken. Filet had a tomato with some type of cheese on top that was unnecessary. Just the filet would have been preferred. Mushrooms for steak way too salty. Veal chop special was tasty. Wine selection fair. Where to start is the question! Ambiance is absolutely stunning and especially since it's decorated for Christmas! Our server Melissa super polite, knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Now to the food, the French onion soup was a perfect blend of onion, broth, bread and cheese with outstanding flavor. The bourbon pork chop was super tender and the sauce was a perfect compliment. We were lucky enough to be the very first wedding performed at the Stone House and boy did they knock it out of the park for us. The house is just spectacularly restored to its original grandeur with beautiful woodwork throughout, decorative chandelier's, a great bar room with attentive staff and the house is just beautifully decorated. Robert Mckinney the manager is a joy to work with and provided us tons of help and guidance throughout, Thank You Robert. After we finally figured out how to get into the parking lot (!), our dining experience was very enjoyable. The decor of the renovated home is lovely. We were seated in the front room which had four tables, leaving adequate space between them so we didn't feel as if we were part of anyone else's conversation. We started with drinks. My Long Island Iced Tea was perfect! My husband commented that his Mojito was on the tart side, but he had no trouble finishing it. The homemade soups were excellent. I had French Onion; he had Roasted Red Pepper Bisque. I chose the Caesar Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Sandwich which was served with kettle potato chips. It was very good. My husband chose the Spice-Rubbed Lamb Chops which he said were excellent. His portion was ample (5 bones). He also had a glass of Pinot Noir with his meal and was pleased with the generous pour and stemmed glassware. The only negative about our experience was the cost. For the meals and drinks described above, our total bill was $100.00 (before tip). That seemed rather steep when you consider my main entree was a sandwich. If only the food was as good as the building, even if the decorations are from TJMaxx. Don't ever order the portobello mushrooms. Supposed to be grilled but were pretty much raw with a very vinegary topping. Overcooked zucchini noodles swimming in an unknown broth. Way overpriced for the quality and wine list is crazy expensive, got a chipped wine glass and in their spare time the staff should be polishing wine glasses instead of using them directly from the dishwasher. My 93 year old mom had the short rib sliders that were served with a potato chip right out of the bag and my wife had a black bean burger that was served with some other chip right out of the bag. read more

Had dinner here for the first time. Overall, some positives but also some very negatives. We loved the idea of a restaurant in an old home and the layout and original wood are charming. The decor is a hodge pudge of modern, gothic and traditional that doesn't make a bit of sense. There were still some Christmas decorations here and there although it is March. The lighting is glaring and far too bright. The sconces are bare bulbs and are honestly really irritating for a nice meal. At the end of our meal, another table asked for the lighting to be turned down and it was, but I'm not sure why the lighting was on at such a glaring setting. We sat in the fireplace room, but the fireplace wasn't working. The decor in this room also looks like a mash up of many things. The dining chairs are bare wood bistro chairs and hard as a rock. Very uncomfortable seating. We could not tell who was working there from the guests as there seem to be no uniforms or name tags. One of the hostesses was in yoga pants and tennis shoes. Not exactly the look for an upper scale restaurant. Service was friendly but she had far too many tables for it to be great. Our water glasses ran empty twice. Our menus sat on the table far too long making it difficult to get anything else on the table. Service from the kitchen was rather slow. The baked feta appetizer was very good, as was the flatbread. Our drinks were all very good. The strip steak however was one of the worst steaks I've ever had. It was cooked correctly, but at least a third of it was fat and tough. I left most of it uneaten. Had we not had a movie to catch, we would have sent it back. Also ordered a peppercorn sauce which we were charged for but never received. The roasted potatoes were extremely dry and had to put the butter from the bread basket on them. A friend told us to order the chocolate cake and the portion size was very large. The cake itself had been in the refrigerator and was very cold and very dry. Do they really not know that over refrigeration on cake dries it out? The frosting was so cold on the cake that it chipped off the cake. Overall, so much potential here, but too many misses to be considered a good restaurant. Would probably not return. read more

It's an interesting place with lots of potential. Our group of eight was in a small room with a window and nice chandelier. Service was excellent. The menu had lots to choose from. Tuna avocado tartare was very good. I had the zucchini noodles which were delicious, but the parm-crusted chicken breast was just ok. Nothing special. My big complaint is the acoustics. The noise level was deafening. We practically had to read lips to carry on a normal level of conversation. They need to deal with this problem. read more

I made a reservation for my wife's birthday. We were sat on the third floor where it is usually first come first serve. This area is served by the bar tender. We were greeted promptly and ordered drinks and an appetizer, everything was downhill from there. We ordered the tot screwers which were tough and nothing special. For 9 dollars I would expect something better than I could make in my air fryer at home and better. We the waited for 30 min while the bar tender made drinks and cleaned glasses before finally making his way back to take our order. I cannot rate the rest of the food as we just asked for our tab at that point. Very disappointed, and I do not believe I will return. Seeing other reviews, I am sure this is isolated but if the rest of the food is as good as the 9$ Walmart tater tots I don't have much hope. read more

We went on a Friday evening. The place itself is very pretty. It was nicely decorated for Christmas. The food and service were mediocre at best. Our server was not attentive and gave the feeling that we were interrupting her day. The food for the most part was disappointing. We went with another couple. The penne pasta was order with chicken. He said it was hot and cold throughout which indicates it was microwaved and not fresh. My wife's tots were small and burnt. I had the flank steak which was good but the portion for the price was small. Our other friends meatball was good. So overall it was not worth the price for the service and the meal quality. read more
