I remember seeing this establishment and it's owner featured on CNBC's YouTube channel. Since then, it's been on my list of places to try out to support local businesses. To my surprise, I was disappointed by the food. I got the loaded frings and a 5 x 5 burger. I believe the burger is relatively new, since it wasn't on any of the pictures of their menu on Google. Ambiance: The staff was friendly enough and I do like the fact that you can see them cooking the burgers in front of you. However, looking around at the restaurant, it looks like there was no upkeep. There were broken tiles, tables weren't cleaned, and I believe there might have been mold when I was filling my water cup at the ice machine, like visibly on the spout. Food: Loaded frings- I'm not sure how you mess this one up, but they somehow did it. The fries were overcooked and the bacon was fried to hell. I think you can actually see how burnt the bacon was in the pictures. It tasted like charcoal. Lastly, the fries were completely soaked in cheese sauce, which I'm guessing was from a can. It tasted like the cheese you'd have at state fairs, except more watery. There was more sauce than fries and onion rings! I should have taken a picture after eating half of the fries. I could not eat the bottom half of the frings because it was all soggy Burger- the same cooked-to-hell bacon was used on the burger. Not much else need to say about that. Looking at the picture of the burger, you'd think that the patties were way overcooked as well. That was not entirely the case. The patties weren't extra dry, but they weren't as juicy as I would have liked a burger to be. I'd say it was just okay. Maybe a half step below average. We came here to grab a burger. It was my first time here and the Burgers were really good. You pick a standard hamburger and then add whatever you want to it. I just got the classic onion lettuce, tomato and cheese. $4.75. I added a side of Onion rings. They were served hot and crispy. After hearing about Build My Burgers and their story from a friend, we decided to check it out on our lunch break. We signed up for their loyalty program and downloaded the app-- they offer some great deals if you do so, but also have varied offers based on day of the week, certain professions/populations, etc. so definitely check those out. Ordering via the app was super easy and straightforward. Our orders were ready rather quickly but made fresh and came out great. We opted to dine in and had plenty of seating in a casual environment. The premise is just what the name states-- you get to build your own sandwich with options that come with the standard price as well as premium options you can also select on the app. Even without the deals we found on the app, prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get. I tried the fried chicken (chicken strips) on a potato bun with honey mustard, mushroom, and caramelized onion and my friend had the standard burger. We shared their half fries/half onion rings side. All around, flavors were good but not overpowering. Fries even had seasoning and I didn't feel I needed ketchup. I was completely new to the concept and looked at the board. You have to make decisions but you mix and match stuff to make your own creation. First the service was great. Super friendly staff at the counter and they explained the ordering process fully. I went with...the burger! I didn't see them list the size of the patties but I'd say quarter pound and smashed so you probably want a double. Decent price for a burger and it comes with fries. They have a really good array of toppings and cheeses to choose from. Probably comparable to 5 Guys (but cheaper!) I'd like to see more off the wall toppings but they've got their bases covered. It is in close proximity to UCF, and I appreciate the deals they do for students. It is your typical smash burger, but they are pretty good and there are many topping options. A local university hidden gem. I love that the place offers student discounts all week long with a student ID. ($7.99 for single cheeseburger, fries, and drink) The toppings they offer with their burgers are great too. The deal used to only by Tuesday but I saw the recent change when I went back one afternoon. The owner is also really nice. I met him once and he apologized for the wait and offered me a cookie. Nancy and stopped in to Build My Burgers for a little dinner while in this part of town the other night. The original plan was Rock-n-Brews; however, Build My Burgers was actually closer to our destination for the evening, Night Owl Cookies. Fortunately for us it wasn't too busy, one large group and two to three two and three tops (say that 5 times fast). I had never been here before so I really didn't know what I was getting into. My recommendation is downloading the app using the QR code to setup an account. Once you do this you can get a FREE single cheeseburger that can be upgraded to larger meal at the counter with the promotional discount. If you just can't stand to download another app to your phone Build My Burgers has a daily discount available that anyone can take advantage of; for $9.99 you can walk away with a single cheeseburger, fries, and a drink, not bad at all. Two other everyday specials available for members (customers with the app) are the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Tenders and the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Wings. I don't need another app either, yet, if you live in the area and come here often, the rewards program seems to be the way to go. The staff were over-the-top friendly, and helped us with working out the discount through the app. They made the process seamless. Our meals were ready in 5-6 minutes and everything was cooked fresh. Although the patties here are not traditional patties you might be used to, but more like flattened out freshly ground and seasoned meat, they were cooked to order and delicious. I do prefer a thick patty, but know that you can upgrade and add additional patty layers on for an additional $2.50. The order process is simple: (1) pick a bun; (2) pick a protein; (3) pick a cheese (extra $0.49 per patty); and (4) pick a garnish (3 come with burger, if you want more it costs extra). Note that Premium garnishes like bacon, and fried egg run anywhere from $2.00-$5.00 extra. I ordered the double stack burger with cheddar, tomato, mushrooms, pickles, with ketchup and mustard on a potato bun and a side of Onion Rings (O-rings are $6.99). My total came to $16.49 without the discount. The discount brought the total price to $10.90 with tax. Not a bad deal at all. The issue I had is that I was charged for extra cheese ($0.49), extra sauce (honey mustard $0.75) when I didn't ask for it, and when my burger arrived it did not include tomatoes. I didn't notice the extra charges because I was a little distracted trying to set up the app and it's really not that big of a deal, but it is something to bring up if you are new to this brand. I have been wanting to check out Build My Burgers for awhile now and I finally got to try this burger place, which is located over by the University of Central Florida. Build My Burgers is a small place that would be easy to miss in the small strip center that it is located in. Walking in, I walked by the tables to where the counter was to pick up my order. I had called my order in and I found the person on the other line was friendly and professional. As the business name would imply, this is a place where you "build your burger." You start by selecting your bun. They have the usual roll options (brioche, potato, pretzel, etc.) and I contemplated between the potato and the pretzel bun, but with the pretzel bun being a two dollar upcharge, I decided to go with the potato. You then choose your protein. I went with a double burger. Next is cheese, but be advised that the cheese is seventy-five cents per patty. So, for my double burger, it was an additional $1.50. Next you can pick some additional "premium garnishes" like applewood smoked bacon (a two dollar upcharge), a fried egg (for an additional $1.25), avocado (for an extra $1.50) and more. Next is the regular garnishes. They have a good selection and these I do not believe have an additional charge. I went with caramelized onions, lettuce, guacamole and potato sticks. For my sauces, I went with ketchup and chipotle. I also got french fries and a vanilla shake. I will say that their "Freaky Shakes" looked interesting in the pics, but be advised that they are basically sixteen dollars ($15.99 to be precise). Their vanilla shake was basically six dollars ($5.99). So, for two burgers (one a double burger and one a single with bacon) with french fries and two shakes (which would be a medium shake size), it was close to forty dollars. The single burger with bacon, no cheese with fries and a strawberry shake was over seventeen dollars alone. My burger selection, the double burger with cheese, was closer to twenty dollars. Now, I have had burgers that would justify the price. So would the burgers at Build My Burgers justify paying at least twice the price that I can get from other comparable burger places? I would compare this restaurants two places like Steak and Shake and Smashburger. I would ultimately have to say that these burgers do not justify the higher cost. I would also say that the french fries were relatively weak and that six dollar milkshake, well, I would much rather get a milkshake from another place for a few dollars less. They also have real burgers and chicken as options for the omnivores out there. Their Buffalo Wings were some of the best Buffalo I've ever had. The Nashville Hot wings sauce was not really Nashville hot, but they were still good. Their desserts are over the top photogenic and delicious. Just when you got through the basics you can start on the other dozen or so toppings from lettuce, tomato, spinach, grilled onions and more. There are also about a dozen sauces and toppings from mustard, catsup, mayo and others. Then you can look at premium toppings. Bacon, avocado, egg and more. Fries or Onion rings? how about both ? Also an option here. There were also wings available and crazy milkshakes with a donut on top! We did the custom Burgers and rings/fries. Everything tasted great and I think that for the price it was a great value. I will echo some other comments on here that the burger was over-seasoned. To me it tasted extra salty and everyone with me agreed. The burger was tasty but they really should think about easing up on the salt or seasoning. I would like to go back and try one of the shakes because they looked really good but they were pretty large so I don't think I could do a meal AND one of those shakes. I went with my friend after learning about the 10 dollar burger promotion from Orlando weekly. But when we arrived, we both decided to do the regular menu. I went with the double burger with cheese, which surprisingly, they charged me twice for the cheese. For my toppings, I chose the caramelized onions, mushrooms, and jalapenos. I was surprised that it came with fries, which I didn't order. When I mentioned this, they told me to enjoy it for free. The burger was pretty thick and juicy, with the sauces complimenting quite well. It was a bit messy with the topping, but it was really good and I was able to taste a bit of spiciness from the jalapeno. Some of the toppings fell apart at the end, but I was still able to enjoy it separately. The chocolate milkshake was light and had the right amount of flavor without being too powerful. It actually did not make me full and I was able to finish the burger and shake at the restaurant. I took the cookies home and had them the next day. While it was pretty crunchy, it had perfect chocolate chip and dough flavoring. Well with the dollar each. The service was friendly and helpful. I did wish they delivered the meals to the table, but understood they might have been short on staff so you had to pick up your food. The owner did visit us to ask how our food was. The atmosphere was really casual and I found the background music to be quite boring. There was enough seating for my friend and I to find a table. Build My Burgers is a great addition to the UCF area. While it was a bit hard to find, it was worth the search with the great food. It is located in a strip mall in University and I recall there is no light for the turn, which can be difficult to turn left to there. Build My Burgers - New American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Yesterday was my first time at Build My Burger. Everything was great! I went with a few friends and we all thought that the food was so tasty. I ordered a burger bowl which was basically a burger without a bun. You get to add as many toppings as you want so I put guac, pineapple, egg, and cheese. I was kind of surprised that all the flavors worked together but they totally did! The milkshakes are something else here. They're kind of a meal on their own with how many toppings there are.
