5 x 5 burger
Alan M.

I remember seeing this establishment and it's owner featured on CNBC's YouTube channel. Since then, it's been on my list of places to try out to support local businesses. To my surprise, I was disappointed by the food. I got the loaded frings and a 5 x 5 burger. I believe the burger is relatively new, since it wasn't on any of the pictures of their menu on Google. Ambiance: The staff was friendly enough and I do like the fact that you can see them cooking the burgers in front of you. However, looking around at the restaurant, it looks like there was no upkeep. There were broken tiles, tables weren't cleaned, and I believe there might have been mold when I was filling my water cup at the ice machine, like visibly on the spout. Food: Loaded frings- I'm not sure how you mess this one up, but they somehow did it. The fries were overcooked and the bacon was fried to hell. I think you can actually see how burnt the bacon was in the pictures. It tasted like charcoal. Lastly, the fries were completely soaked in cheese sauce, which I'm guessing was from a can. It tasted like the cheese you'd have at state fairs, except more watery. There was more sauce than fries and onion rings! I should have taken a picture after eating half of the fries. I could not eat the bottom half of the frings because it was all soggy Burger- the same cooked-to-hell bacon was used on the burger. Not much else need to say about that. Looking at the picture of the burger, you'd think that the patties were way overcooked as well. That was not entirely the case. The patties weren't extra dry, but they weren't as juicy as I would have liked a burger to be. I'd say it was just okay. Maybe a half step below average. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't able to. I'm not sure if I came by on an odd day, because the reviews say otherwise. I really hope management can fix these issues.

Fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned well. The burgers were pretty standard. Milkshake was good. They no longer have beer because they didn't want college students hanging out for hours. The whole place could use a good scrubbing.

Build My Burgers was a letdown this time. Portions were smaller than I remember, my burger was overcooked, and the fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Vibe is good and service was decent but other than that nothing really stood out. Disappointed to see the big deluxe shakes we came for are no longer offered.

For all of you burgers, wings, Milkshakes and more. I highly recommend this restaurant for you. Starting with the amazing staff Aly, Juan, Charles and Paula for making my experience way better. Here you can build your own burger however you want it. I had the chance to try the. Double burger was one of the best in Orlando hands down 11/10 The wings flavorful 11/10 Loaded fries with cheese and bacon 10/10 And the oreo milkshake was delicious. Come and check them out you will not be disappointed.

We came here to grab a burger. It was my first time here and the Burgers were really good. You pick a standard hamburger and then add whatever you want to it. I just got the classic onion lettuce, tomato and cheese. $4.75. I added a side of Onion rings. They were served hot and crispy. If you download the app using the QR code they will give you a free hamburger for your first time in.! Also remember to check in using the Yelp app to get 10% off. They also offer chicken tenders and chicken wings and Milk shakes. This is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. They offer a Coca-Cola products. Limited seating inside. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come here again if I am on the side of town for a burger. Good prices.

After hearing about Build My Burgers and their story from a friend, we decided to check it out on our lunch break. We signed up for their loyalty program and downloaded the app-- they offer some great deals if you do so, but also have varied offers based on day of the week, certain professions/populations, etc. so definitely check those out. Ordering via the app was super easy and straightforward. Our orders were ready rather quickly but made fresh and came out great. We opted to dine in and had plenty of seating in a casual environment. The premise is just what the name states-- you get to build your own sandwich with options that come with the standard price as well as premium options you can also select on the app. Even without the deals we found on the app, prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get. I tried the fried chicken (chicken strips) on a potato bun with honey mustard, mushroom, and caramelized onion and my friend had the standard burger. We shared their half fries/half onion rings side. All around, flavors were good but not overpowering. Fries even had seasoning and I didn't feel I needed ketchup. We were curious about their shakes and will definitely be back to try them as well as other combos and menu items soon to support this local business.

These burgers are pretty decently priced for what they are- 11.99 for a double with fries and 3 toppings 2 sauces. Delicious meal honestly. Burger was juicy as hell and fries were seasoned so it was perfect. Food is made right there and then! Service is fast and the mood is sweet.

This place is right across the street from one of the best dispensaries in the state. I wandered over here After picking up a few of my favorite strands. I was completely new to the concept and looked at the board. You have to make decisions but you mix and match stuff to make your own creation. Once I saw a doughnut up there as an option for the bun the rest of the details didn't matter anymore. Did I mention you can get a donut as a bun? Donut burgers are my favorite, however I prefer the donut to be cut in half. The two donuts really spares no expense. You first choose your protein, then your bun. Then topping and what type of cheese. The staff was friendly and amused by my heavy desire for a donut burger and kept saying donut, what come with a donut. Does the donut burger have a hole in the middle? Are donut slider call burger hole donuts? They put up with my red eyes and droll pouring from my mouth. I can't wait to come here again and get the picture that's covered in cheese!

I was looking for a local cheeseburger place and found this on yelp. ReStart that around lunchtime and Was greeted promptly and they explained how the restaurant worked., It basically is a cheeseburger and tell them what you want on it from many choices. When ordering, I told them I would like. My burger medium and was told we only make them well done. If it wasn't for this, I would've given it 5 stars but with that said, I will tell you. The Burger was extremely tasty and I would return.. Everything is made to order and seems to be very fresh. The prices were reasonable too, as compared to some places nowadays. This is a very casual sit down restaurant. They did well and I appreciate the other reviews that let us there.

We were very excited to visit and planned a special trip driving an hour to find out they have franchised and no longer serve the incredible shakes they previously had. They stopped making the fancy shakes about a month ago, this was disappointing because they looked amazing. I did get the vanilla milkshake anyway, it had whip cream on top and tasted similar to a Wendy's shake. I got a smothered cheddar burger with a pretzel bun. The burger was tasty and I really enjoyed the pretzel bun, that made the burger! I expected the burger patty to be larger and although they were not homemade fries, they were well seasoned. It was great having a variety of toppings to pick from and customize your burger. My son said his chicken sandwich was the best one he's had on this trip!! He's a picky eater and gets a lot of chicken sandwiches so that's good! My other son got a double burger and devoured it, he said his burger was good. The staff was friendly and the interior decor is nice. The meal was very filling. All in all if you're in the area it's a decent burger, but I wouldn't drive an hour again.

A local university hidden gem. I love that the place offers student discounts all week long with a student ID. ($7.99 for single cheeseburger, fries, and drink) The toppings they offer with their burgers are great too. The deal used to only by Tuesday but I saw the recent change when I went back one afternoon. The owner is also really nice. I met him once and he apologized for the wait and offered me a cookie. I honestly did not expect it since I only waited about 10 minutes during their rush hour when I first visited the restaurant. Their burgers are always juicy and you get 3 toppings with each burger. I have not tried anything else on the menu like the shakes or tenders but I can definitely recommend the burgers and take advantage of the student deal. If you're hungry and looking for a quick bite for a great price make sure to stop in.

Evening out at Build My Burgers
Scott W.

Nancy and stopped in to Build My Burgers for a little dinner while in this part of town the other night. The original plan was Rock-n-Brews; however, Build My Burgers was actually closer to our destination for the evening, Night Owl Cookies. Fortunately for us it wasn't too busy, one large group and two to three two and three tops (say that 5 times fast). I had never been here before so I really didn't know what I was getting into. My recommendation is downloading the app using the QR code to setup an account. Once you do this you can get a FREE single cheeseburger that can be upgraded to larger meal at the counter with the promotional discount. If you just can't stand to download another app to your phone Build My Burgers has a daily discount available that anyone can take advantage of; for $9.99 you can walk away with a single cheeseburger, fries, and a drink, not bad at all. Two other everyday specials available for members (customers with the app) are the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Tenders and the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Wings. I don't need another app either, yet, if you live in the area and come here often, the rewards program seems to be the way to go. The staff were over-the-top friendly, and helped us with working out the discount through the app. They made the process seamless. Our meals were ready in 5-6 minutes and everything was cooked fresh. Although the patties here are not traditional patties you might be used to, but more like flattened out freshly ground and seasoned meat, they were cooked to order and delicious. I do prefer a thick patty, but know that you can upgrade and add additional patty layers on for an additional $2.50. The order process is simple: (1) pick a bun; (2) pick a protein; (3) pick a cheese (extra $0.49 per patty); and (4) pick a garnish (3 come with burger, if you want more it costs extra). Note that Premium garnishes like bacon, and fried egg run anywhere from $2.00-$5.00 extra. I ordered the double stack burger with cheddar, tomato, mushrooms, pickles, with ketchup and mustard on a potato bun and a side of Onion Rings (O-rings are $6.99). My total came to $16.49 without the discount. The discount brought the total price to $10.90 with tax. Not a bad deal at all. The issue I had is that I was charged for extra cheese ($0.49), extra sauce (honey mustard $0.75) when I didn't ask for it, and when my burger arrived it did not include tomatoes. I didn't notice the extra charges because I was a little distracted trying to set up the app and it's really not that big of a deal, but it is something to bring up if you are new to this brand. The owner Aly Lalani stopped by our table and chatted with us for a while, super nice guy and since we were new here, he gave us the background on the restaurant and how they are just now beginning to franchise-out Build My Burgers. Here is Aly's amazing story of overcoming debt during the pandemic and achieving his dreams https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/13/how-orlando-restaurant-build-my-burgers-went-from-debt-to-success.html All-n-all I would come back to Build My Burgers again. We don't make it to this side of town much, but when I do, I will definitely stop in for another great burger. It was really cool meeting Aly and I wish him and his wife the best with their business and franchise endeavors. If you have never been to Build My Burgers, I highly recommend stopping by the original store on Technological Ave/ University Blvd. and trying them out.

Some days you just need to satisfy your tastebuds with a thick, juicy burger made to order. This was that day. Our friends at Build My Burgers do it right! We were welcomed the moment we walked in the door. As we walked up to the counter the aroma of freshly made burgers filled the air. There was an ample selection of toppings to select from, all fresh, colorful and tasty. After placing the order and filling our drink we found the perfect place to enjoy our lunch. The restaurant was clean and colorfully decorated but not overdone. In no time our food was delivered to the table. Hot, fresh & delicious. The hamburger was so juicy and perfectly made. It was so delicious we gobbled it down quickly savoring the flavor with every bite. Ready to treat yourself to a burger your way at a price your wallet will love? This location is cute with an open floor plan, black and white photos, many tvs, and an open kitchen. I started the evening off with an espresso martini. For the bar only having about 3 people and the restaurant not full, I was surprised at how long it took to get the drink. It was a pretty good martini. Our server was very nice. Let's get to the food. For an appetizer, we started with the grilled cheese brisket sliders. The brisket wss juicy and I enjoyed the dipping sauce that was paired with it. For entrees we got the 6oz bistro steak and the classic tavern burger. The steak was cooked great and the sauce on top was delicious. The meal comes with veggies and potatos. I asked for the chickpea fries instead of the potatos. I was shocked to see the bill at the end that I was charged the full amount for a side item of chickpea fries. I get an upcharge for a more premium side but I did not get the potatoes that come with the meal to have the chickpea fries instead. Also the chickpea fries have a much mushy texture now than they used to in the past. The burger was decent with no complaints there.

My friend treated me to a birthday lunch this week and when we got to the table, the staff had a birthday card waiting for me! How thoughtful! We came during happy hour and decided to try a few small plates and drinks. The Egg Rolls are a must! They were packed with flavor and a variety of ingredients. My friend especially loved the shrimp. We also tried the quesadillas and sliders on the happy hour menu. Both dishes tasted incredible! Sadly, though the happy hour has half priced apps, the plates are also half sized. They were absolutely delicious, but the dishes felt overpriced for the portion size. As for drinks, I tried the sangria flight. I wasn't expecting such a full portion size and was pleasantly surprised with that. I did, however, only find 2 of the 4 drinks to be especially tasty. I wouldn't order that flight again, but would be interested in their wine offerings. I loved the low lighting in the space as it set such a calm and laid back mood.
