Hole in the wall diner now called Sally's Diner. It was clean and utilitarian seating. So we grabbed a booth. I ordered the two eggs, home fries, bacon that came with a choice of bread. I asked for a biscuit. Eggs were fine. The home fries and the biscuit tasted the same. Obviously the grill imparted a "flavor" to the home fries and biscuit as both were grilled. This flavor was not good. The crispy bacon was ok. Had black marks on it that I could not u sweat and from cooking. My son's two eggs, half order of biscuits and gravy with bacon he enjoyed. As we were paying I noticed I had ordered the special 7-9 daily for 8.99 but I was charged 10.50. When I asked she said I gave you extra bacon I thought you would want that. Chubby's is now Sally's! My mom was in town and she LOVES to go to diners. I did a quick search and found Sally's wasn't too far from my house so off we went! The atmosphere is very retro and relaxed. There are different seat options from booths to tables. The servers were AMAZING, kind, and attentive. As soon as we walked in they were asking us for our drink orders and giving us menus. There was a vide variety of breakfast options and some lunch options to choose from. I went with the sausage egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin with a side of hash browns. The sandwich tasted very homemade and I love that! The sausage was probably my fav part. Went in here after running some errands. Ordered our food to go but ended up waiting about as long as we would have had if we had eaten there. Inside is a little rundown. There's a lot of dust coming off of the vents. It's definitely more of a old town kind of diner. There were three servers the day we went and two people in the kitchen. I got biscuits and gravy and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak. I liked my biscuits and gravy. It was a great portion but my husband's Philly cheesesteak came with maybe a handful of fries. For $20 he wasn't very happy with the little portion of fries he was given. I got home fries and there was definitely a bigger portion of those. They do have a nice wall for the veterans but it's kind of sad to see how run down the inside is. read more

My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day breakfast. We live a little farther but my daughter had to take a test at a nearby high school so we looked at restaurants that had great reviews and found this place. It is actually now a Sally's Diner. We felt so welcomed right away! As we walked through the door several people greeted us and someone told us to pick any table we wanted and she gave us our menus. There were so many great options. But my husband and I both ended up getting a skillet. Food came fairly quickly. It was nice and hot and delicious. You get a choice of bread and our waitress suggested a grilled biscuit (and to pour honey on it) and I loved it! There was a lot of food so I ended up taking leftovers home to enjoy later). I wish I remembered her name, but our waitress was so friendly and attentive to our needs. The diner had a lot of cute decor for Valentine's Day and other nostalgic decor (Elvis Presley and Betty Boop). Everyone greeted us goodbye when we left. We would definitely return! read more

This is your average diner. We went for breakfast. It was good, but nothing extraordinary. It is definitely a local hangout, lots of folks who knew everybody by name. The service was good. Stopped by Chubby's Family Restaurant, a welcoming, affordable diner near UCF for classic American brunch. The menu has all the homestyle American classics you can think of and can be brought together in a skillet. I tried the French toast and the Angela Skillet. The French toast was okay but the Angela skillet was a great combination of ingredients. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service Despite our large group size and multiple orders, our waitress Angela was amazing. Her patience, kindness, and efficiency were commendable. She attended to our needs, refilled our water, and was always available to answer any questions or address any concerns. She was truly a gem. As for the ambiance, this diner takes you on a nostalgic journey back in time. The decor pays homage to iconic American figures such as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, giving the diner a retro feel. What happened here? New owner now and portions cut down and raise prices. Some items from Chubby's you can't get now? Owner actually walked in, ordered food, NEVER ONCE said anything to the guests. Chubby's is a quaint little diner that is hidden in a strip mall located on east colonial. Now we recently stumbled upon this spot last week when we were driving around looking for a place to have breakfast. We decided to stop by initially because of how fun the name was... if I am going to be completely honest lol... and boy are we glad that we did. When we first walked in, it felt like we were transported back in time. The decor reminded me of the old school diners back in the day... a bit grungy.. a bit antiquey... but a whole lot of fun. The walls were covered in Elvis posters, vintage car decor, and Betty Boop memorabilia. I absolutely loved it and it put such a smile on my face. We were instantly greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress came to our table and took our order pretty quick as well as delivered our food pretty fast. I can tell that she has been doing this for awhile because she was very knowledgeable of the menu and she totally made us feel welcomed... like we were in her own kitchen. For food I ordered the Chrissy Skillet which came with eggs, corn beef hash, and potatoes. I also had the grilled biscuit and waffles as well and everything was oh so delicious. The food was super fresh and seasoned great... and the best part was that the coffee kept on flowing. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for anybody who is looking for a good old fashion diner...and none of those new instagrammy brunch spots. Not going to Ding them for this, but for my Coke-heads out there, this is a Pepsi establishment I hope management reconsiders and sees the light and makes the switch over to Coke! I know some of you Coke-heads won't even step foot in here bc they don't offer Coke but they have OJ and their sweet tea is yummy! This place has been open for 25 years at the current location and is a staple in the community. If you love to support local Business, this is definitely one you will feel good about supporting. Decided to go here for breakfast based on the number of good ratings from Yelp, plus the prices seemed alright. Very cute and small hole in the wall place. You'd never know it was Chubby's since the sign on the building just says Restaurant. I had a sausage and egg omelet. It was good. No complaints. My wife had a club sandwich, but apparently it doesn't come with cheese. So she had to ask for cheese. I liked the retro decorations with Betty Boop, James Dean, and Marilyn Monroe. I read an article about breakfast places in Orlando and Chubby's was on the list. It stuck out as a place I wanted to try so a group of friends and I ventured in one Sunday morning. The place is fairly small, 20 tables or less and it's seat yourself. There were 8 of us and no tables to accommodate a group of that size so we sat at two tables next to each other. Our server (Gloria maybe? Her name was on her apron but I can't remember!) was so wonderful, she was so nice, attentive and genuine. As for the menu, their skillets are what they seem to be known for and boy did they not disappoint. I got the Sherry Skillet and it was so good! I'm a sucker for sausage gravy, it reminds me of home so that was definitely a big selling point for me when choosing which skillet to get. It also came with choice of bread which included a GRILLED BISCUIT. Excuse me? A grilled biscuit? Yes please! It was so good and definitely not something you see everyday. Chubby's reminded me of my very first job at a little mom and pop restaurant. Decided to give this place a try for breakfast. It came highly recommended, especially for its biscuits and gravy. This place has been renamed as Sally's, no longer chubby's. It is set up in a plaza off the main road, has a small café vibe filled with locals. We came in and was told to go ahead and see ourselves. It was very busy. It did take a little time to get our menus and drinks and to place our order. We try to be understanding since it seemed to be busy. However, once we received our food, it was not all served at once. The temperature of the food was barely warm. Was missing toast and a side order of pancakes or griddle as it has it on the menu. I got the biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs, and bacon. I would say there was little to no sausage in the gravy, and my eggs and bacon were a mild temperature, cool/cold to taste. My husband got grits, eggs, and toast. His grits were definitely cold because the butter would not even melt just had chunks of it that he tried to mix in. We both finished meal, felt was subpar, he got his toes at the very end. And I never got my griddle cake. I just asked to make sure it wasn't charged for it. Overall, we would not return. Definitely would enjoyed a at Waffle House that day. Disappointed that this place did not live up to the recommendations on being good home, cooking and great biscuits and gravy! We will certainly not return! read more

The pancakes are really good! A little stretchy, and a nice bit of browning around the edges. Not fancy, just made right. That's all I need. I ordered the fish sandwich and fries. It may not look like much, but it was good too. The fries were unremarkable. I'll get a different side next time. But TBH, I'll likely order pancakes and home fries with sausage gravy. I have been coming to this diner for close to twenty years now. It is in a strip mall on East Colonial Drive that has definitely seen better days. For a better landmark, look for the bar that always has the sign out front hiring bartenders and it is in that adjoining strip mall. There is nothing fancy about this place, certainly not the strip mall, but also not the ambiance inside the restaurant, the servers nor the food. But that should not deter you from trying this place. Chubby's is exactly what it sets out to be, a friendly place to get a simple but good meal in a no frills setting at a fair price. I would definitely recommend this place. They know what they have and have no need to renovate into a current day sterile restaurant to attract massive amounts of new customers. This was our first time visiting here on the recommendation of a work friend. Now , before I begin my review, I want to say that I LOVE breakfast. When I make it at home, it's a labor of love for me. I take my time and I have a certain way I prepare my dishes . With that being said, I know I'm hard to please. The prices are very reasonable at this restaurant. You are able to seat yourself to any open table and within moment, someone will come to greet you. I ordered the corn beef hash skillet (can't remember the exact name) with onion and over easy eggs, grits , and a biscuit . My partner ordered the mushroom omelette with hash browns and grits with toast. Everything came out quickly and it was hot and fresh. My only qualm with the meal was the grits were a little too runny for me and I wish my onions were cooked a little better in my skillet. Over all, solid meal and would eat here again. read more
