I was excited to try this place. It was... ok. The server let me try a sample of the potato soup as I couldn't decide if I wanted to order it... and I'm glad I only had the sample. It was watery and without much flavor and had I bought a cup, I would have been disappointed. The burger I had was fine, nothing overly special but not bad. The drinks were great, though. First time trying this place. Came for magical dining and did not realize it was part of a golfing community. The inside was nice, I liked the layout of the dining room , you didn't feel like you were on top of everyone. I had to give this place a 3 because the food was just ok. Nothing wowed me. I had the grouper and it was rather bland until I squeezed the lemon over it and even then it didnt taste that great. Although, I tried my friends chicken picatta and that was juicy and flavorful. We got theshort rib chips and mussels as apps and they were not great. The mussels were extra fishy and mushy and the short ribs were gray and didn't look appetizing. It just threw me off. I would probably only come back for the drinks which were delicious. The peach rita was sooo good. As well as the old fashioned. The espresso martini wasn't my favorite but the bartender offered to remake it to my liking which I greatly appreciated. The dessert was pretty good but kinda tasted like Publix chocolate cake, but I'm not mad at that. The key lime pie was good as well, but if you don't like lime zest I wouldn't recommend it. I had dinner at Pine and Oak Tavern for the second time, and once again, the food and drinks did not disappoint. The service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere made it a great spot to enjoy a couple of drinks and a delicious meal. For my meal, I had the Black Truffle and Cheese Ravioli with clamshell mushrooms, cipollini onion, sherry cream, and black garlic butter--plus an added salmon filet. Everything was rich, flavorful, and well-executed. To finish, I went with the Sticky Toffee Cake with Caramel Ice Cream, which was as decadent as it looks. Reviews are great and I have heard wonderful things about this restaurant. I went late on a Sunday and it was not very busy at all. Staff greeted us right away and had our table ready and waiting. I had scoped out all the reviews so I wanted to try the coffee rubbed NY Strip and the French onion soup. Sadly, neither of those items were available or on the menu. I appreciate they use fresh ingredients and sometimes the menu will change but I still was a little disapointed. I opted for the Shrimp Scampi Linguini. The portion size was good and there were quite a few nice sized shrimp on the plate as well. Everything was prepared well but I felt there was quite a bit of saltiness in the dish. The sauce was not just butter so perhaps something in there was giving me the salt flavor. I won't say it was bad but just not something that I would order again. The service was excellent and I felt it was a decent value for the quality and amount of food that we received. I plan to go back and try some of the menu options I missed. I hope that they update their site or use social media to better reflect any changes to the menu. read more

Def a new place I checked out with some partners of mine. The fries and the sandwich I had was quite good. The fries was seasoned, crispy and I LOVED IT!!!! The service started out so good and then the waiter went missing for a while because we were the only people remaining in the restaurant. He didn't come out for a while and I understand that if it isn't much people then you don't come but at least a check every 7 min would be fine. However, when we were pressed to leave we just found someone that would help then he found our waiter and we paid the bill and left. Otherwise it was good especially the sangria. That was absolutely delicious and I would go back for that anytime. read more

I wish it were closer. I tried Pine & Oak with some girlfriends during Magical Dining and I have been craving it ever since. Every single item was delicious. The server kinda sang all her words which was a bit annoying but she was very kind. The restaurant is a part of a country club so it is just a basic dining and bar area but it works. It's well lit with a view of the course and it's not very noisy during dinner which I appreciate. I look forward to returning soon. read more

Stopped in here for magical dining and really had a great experience. The decor is clean and modern. We were seated quickly and greeted right away. The servers were attentive, but there was an event that was in the hall and many of the guests came over to the restaurant and bar after so they got super busy. We did not have any issue with the service even as busy as they were - and some of the servers were literally running to get food so they were working hard and we appreciated all that they did. We even found out that the AC was out in the kitchen and the food being cooked perfectly made it even more impressive! We started with the burrata (2 for the table) and it was delicious. We really enjoyed it with the mushrooms. There was a coffee rubbed NY Strip that 2 of ordered. They really enjoyed the steak and it was cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp scampi linguine. This restaurant is located within the golf course. It's a great atmosphere at reasonable prices. I came here with some family for lunch. I did check out the menu beforehand and had my heart set on the chicken Caesar wrap. When we sat down and were given menus, I didn't see it on the menu. Turns out it's only the dinner menu. The menu on the website didn't specify between lunch or dinner. Funny enough, our waiter recommended the chicken Caesar wrap! When I said it wasn't on the menu, he said it's on the dinner menu only, but the kitchen can make it for lunch if we wanted it. What a coincidence...but I already changed my mind. Guess it just means I have to return! I went with the chicken BLT club. It was your basic BLT club but with a pesto aioli and smoked cheddar. Who doesn't love pesto? It came with my choice of French fries or house made rosemary potato wedges. I went with the wedges. My only problem with them was it only came with 5! But they were decent in size and so flavorful! I've been to the Pine & Oak Tavern a couple of times. The Rio Pinar Golf Club is an Orlando legend! So much golf history here! The restaurant is very unassuming, but the food is extremely good. The burger was great my first time and the Nashville Chicken my second time was great too. I also heard the Rio sandwich, and the fish and chips were worth it! The chef does not resist modifications or working with customers to ensure their meal is the way they want. The service is great, and the drink prices are very affordable. The Men's locker room has a lot of historical artifacts related to the Rio Pinar golf heritage. We are now considering the Pine & Oak to be a go to for a local relaxing, but nice dinner instead of all the chain restaurants. Definitely give them a shot! read more

We had a 5:30 reservation for Pine & Oak. We ordered from the Magical Dining menu. We did not receive our appetizer for at least 40 minutes. The food came out even later. One of the people in our party had not gotten their food yet and they were then told after all of this time that they were out of risotto did she want mashed potatoes? She finally received her dish and it was just thrown on the plate no garnishes or anything. Than one of our friends asked for decaf coffee to find out they didn't have that either. the poor waitress had to keep on apologizing for the very slow service. This was not her fault at all. The young manager gave us a $10 discount and told us it would be better if we did not come on Sundays. And it was very loud in there. She was very unprofessional. We had a group of about 12 people, so it did take a bit of time for everyone to get their food. I had the lobster bisque and pan roasted sea bass. The sea bass came with wasabi mashed potatoes, wild mushrooms, baby bok choy, and a shoyu cream sauce. The sea bass was cooked perfectly with slightly charred crust on the outside while still flaky and moist inside. Good proportion of accompaniments with flavors that blended well. Tried out the Tavern for lunch with my husband on Valentines Day since we wanted a chill vibe. I loved the golf course views and the outdoor seating was really nice. I ordered an amaretto sour to drink and it tasted delicious. My husband got the onion soup and when I tried it, I really liked it. I wasn't sure what the white thing was in it, but the flavor was really nice especially considering I've never had onion soup. For his main dish he got the salmon and unfortunately they don't really have any solid low carb/carb free options for switching out the rice with. He wasn't a fan of the rice and said the coconut milk flavor is more of an acquired taste. He seemed to like the salmon though and noted that it had almonds in the crust, which I'm not sure was noted in the menu. I ordered the melt and it was very filling. The bread was perfectly buttered and grilled, it was great. It came with the wedges and the only thing is I wish they had been smaller so I could have more of the crisp skin crunch instead of the thick potato. We were Rio Pinar Club members and haven't been back since the sale and renovations. Greg has the food and beverage well in hand and Gregor has everything else moving forward beautifully. My husband and I shared the wonton shrimp and crab flatbread. It was delicious. Kevin at the bar served up a deliciously different Cosmo and a fabulous red sangria enjoyed by my husband. I really LOVED my sea bass -- flavors were over the top! My husband was very impressed with and LOVED his steak sandwich. The interior is romantic yet chic. Terrific ambiance. Whether you play golf or not, a visit here is a great option if you are looking for a fantastic dining option. The place has a nece overall ambiance. I pulled in and kind of expected a dated interior, but was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely a cool vibe, with windows looking out at the golf course. My business partner and I loved the college waitresses and Amir the mixologist who made a great drink I provided the recipe for made my evening. The service and food were great, not quite 5 star but damn good for an older club. If they invest a bit into the restaurant decor I think it would attract a lot more business. Good luck keeping the chef, I would recommend setting up a separate ownership in just the restaurant and give the chef some equity to keep he or she around. Just an opinion. We also had the black truffle ravioli which was really good, but not a very filling portion, my companion was still hungry. I had the salmon which was very good, but a little over cooked. For dessert we chose the strawberry and white chocolate bread pudding and the sticky toffee cake both were excellent except that the bread pudding had very little white chocolate taste and NO strawberries, WTH! We went here to celebrate my birthday. There were nine of us. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The table was set beautifully. Our server came right over and took our drink orders. It is a very nice place. It was clean and the server was terrific. The food all came out just about it once and it was hot and cooked the way it was requested. Several people ordered the linguine with shrimp. They said it was just a little too salty but delicious otherwise. Two people had the mushroom ravioli and said it was delicious. One of my granddaughters had that and said they enjoyed it very much. The other one had a steak which she devoured. I had the Dr Pepper ribs in french fries they were delicious as was my Caesar salad. With the steak, my granddaughter had Parmesan truffle fries. One of the guests had a burger which he said was excellent with fries, of course. For dessert, they brought out a hot chocolate lava cake, which was to die for. Everyone had some in one of my granddaughters finished it off. The prices were great. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it and come back again. Great job.!! read more

We have been here twice. January 2024 and the food was amazing! Our server was new, so we were patient. For a party of five, we were there for two hours. The manager had to intervene and graciously compensated for some of our meals. We decided to book Easter Brunch as it was a buffet and at the time we thought the price was ten dollars cheaper from the conversation with the manager. To our surprise, there is an automatic 23 percent gratuity added to the bill regardless of party size. Juices are not included in the price either. The food was lukewarm at best. However, the options were plentiful. The prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, shrimp and grits and candied bacon were memorable. We were hoping to make this a family tradition. We came from Fort Lauderdale to drop off our son at UCF and went out of our way to go to this steakhouse as the online pictures of the food looked delicious. Upon arrival the ambiance looked nice and the clientele appeared pleased with their food so we thought we made a good choice. After waiting too long to be seated we flagged down a staff member and asked if it was pick your own table or would a host/hostess seat us. There were plenty of places to choose from so we were motioned to just pick a spot. After 15 minutes of waiting for a server we asked again about service and were told somebody would be with us soon. That didn't happen so we left after another 10 minutes and don't recommend the place to anyone that's not a local. read more
