So when we decided to expand our kitchen we hired them to do the work, knowing that we would get a superior job. The quality of their workmanship is really outstanding from the foundation all the way to the finish carpentry! They explained the entire process clearly at the beginning of the job and presented a clear, professional, contract before starting. The crew showed up on time and cleaned up every day before they left. They dug the foundation for the extension, built the foundation wall, built the walls and roof and installed new windows. Inside they did the drywall, laid a new floor and installed the cabinetry. The finished product exceeded our expectations! We have referred several people to Q&M knowing that they will not be disappointed.

While the initial communication was great, it became incredibly un-dependable and hard to come by as the job progressed. Ultimately, it took 7 weeks to complete a 4-step project due to poor craftsmanship and multiple delays. The issues began when the initial pour completely failed inspection. The step measurements were wildly inconsistent--the top step had a 4-inch rise, while the others varied from 7.5 to 8.5 inches from step to step, and it sloped from left to right. When I brought this up, the contractor was defensive, insisting that everything they poured was "up to code" and there was nothing wrong with them. However, they later admitted the mold had been stepped on by the crew. After several communication gaps, missed timelines, and a partial refund discussion, the city inspector officially failed the steps on May 4th, stating they required a complete tear-out and replace due to the safety and rise inconsistencies. The second round of demolition and pouring took another three weeks. Throughout this entire process, I was never notified in advance when plans changed or when the crew would show up. I had to actively chase the contractor for updates just to find out when people would be at my house. While the second set of steps finally passed inspection, they still have visible flaws. If you are looking for clear communication, reliable timelines, and a job done right the first time, I would look elsewhere.

If you're thinking of getting a new roof -- go with someone else!! This place has caused my home…read moreand family more trouble than our ancient garbage roof ever did. We were quoted for a new roof on our home in April 2025 and work began soon after. The workers had total disregard for our property. They stomped across our front garden, left their empty cans in our children's sandbox, and left nails just all over. They also smashed and snapped a huge limb off of our lilac bush (I watched them do this carelessly). They left extra pieces of roofing on the roof that blew off into the yard as well as a significant amount of nails on top of the roof of our porch. I understand the work can be messy, but this seemed outrageous. I was picking nails off our driveway for months afterward. The real issues started this winter. We live in Colden, NY and are used to harsh winters with an old roof. However, you'd think after almost $30k for a brand new roof you wouldn't have to worry about leaking/ insane ice issues on it. We have had leaking in the past that we were told would be remedied with the new roof. Instead, the leaking has been significantly worse this year causing more damage through our walls and ceilings. The first time they sent a repairman out to address the issue I was not asked if we were home or if they could come on the property. They called and told me (again, not asked) they'd be at our house in 20 minutes. While I appreciate the quick response, I am a SAHM with two littles and really did not feel comfortable receiving a call that someone would be coming into my home while I was home by myself. In addition to this, they gave the repairman the wrong address and he ended up stuck in my neighbor's driveway which was completely torn up when they pulled him out. The repairman did nothing but take photos of the house and shrug. He told me he couldn't do anything because the amount of ice on the roof would further damage it. The second time this happened, he took a ladder up to look at the issue and told us it was because of the siding. Our siding is old, however we are not convinced the siding is the issue. He found more pieces of roof that'd blown off in our yard and told us he was going to leave to reshape them and come back later that day to reattach them. He never came back, and we never heard from anyone again.
