DreamMaker originally did a nice job in gutting out my old bathroom in my bedroom and remodeling it…read morecompletely. Problems started when I had a leak at the base of my shower on the side with the shower arm and controls. The leak went into the basement and through the wall which caused massive damage to my brand new closet system in my walk in closet and the floor in there on the other side of the wall from the shower. I was left with over $5,000 in damages. I couldn't file an insurance claim really. I have renters that share my home with me and I had to evict a renter for severe damage to my basement and the basement bedroom he was living in. Due to the amount of damage we had to split it into 4 claims. So they told me if I filed another claim, I wouldn't be able to file anymore for 7 years. DreamMaker did agree to fix the problems but they told me it would take a few months because there was a back log on acquiring materials. They came out and caulked the area where the leak was because I had company coming and I needed the shower operational. It was my understanding that the temporary fix was good until they were able to repair it permanently. I was fine with that. A few months went by and there was no follow up from them at all. I sent an e-mail and 3 days went by so I contacted a lawyer to send them my intent to go to court. When I called for their fax number and the employee at DreamMaker realized what I was doing, they suddenly became very responsive. However, I had another representative call and say to me, we did everything we said we were going to do on the appropriate time schedule. You weren't supposed to be using the shower anyway. I felt like they were victim blaming and shaming me. If they somehow thought that would win my business again, then I don't know what the hell they were thinking. So the bathroom originally looked nice, but they're working on it right now and they tore out the shower and the tile floor they just put in. I know mistakes happen, but given the leak, the victim blaming and shaming, the lack of follow up, and their lack of concern for how much I pad out in damages, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

The first cooking class was Latin steak night where we made steak with chimichurri and gelato for dessert. I've signed up for my third class and can hardly wait. As for the store itself, the staff are really nice. I've purchased a number of items here. If you take a cooking class you also get 10% off in the store which I took advantage of. Pretty big difference. The chef told us that "corporate" has been told multiple times to make the website reflect what they are ACTUALLY going to make but refuse to make the corrections. We were told we couldn't take any food home with us, though there were many leftovers (only 3 people in the class). I was not alone in my surprise that the store policies meant that staff got to enjoy our food instead of me enjoying it for dinner (unless it went in the trash which is unconscionable). Would not recommend!

Ok then, took my stock # to Lowe's, who were very friendly, and bought my two Koehler sinks there at 40% lower price. We were with Sarah for almost 2 hours today for the bathroom. Their showroom is great so you can compare the various brands. The consultant can put your selections into the build.com website and then you can go home and make your final decisions. Or you can let them place the order. I gave 4 stars because they only have two consultants at the Ann Arbor location so it's a week or more for an appointment. Aside from that I highly recommend Ferguson.

Bottom line: I do not recommend KSI and do not plan to hire them ever again. Read on for more…read moredetails. The design process was relatively easy - I sent the designer photographs of the bathroom, dimensions that I provided, and a Pinterest inspo page that I created to reflect our design taste. From these, she created a project proposal with estimate. My husband and I appreciated the level of service early in the process compared to other companies we contacted, felt comfortable with our quote, and decided to move forward with KSI. After this, there was a brief visit to our home by the designer and contractor to confirm measurements. A visit to the KSI showroom finalized our cabinetry, flooring, and counter selections. You will not be able to buy lighting or plumping fixtures from KSI and you will be sent elsewhere. If you want a high level of service with your designer, that will not happen with KSI - They do not accompany you on these trips or provide input. The designer was responsive throughout the process, but I do feel like she was overly busy sometimes and I did feel like her attention to detail was sometimes lacking. While the design process was relatively easy - Maybe a 3 star process - The actual renovation was 1 star and absolutely the reason that we will never use KSI again. The project was originally estimated to take 3-4 weeks... Actual time: 2.5 months. The workers consistently showed up late in the day - mostly after 4pm - if at all, and made it clear that we were their last priority. When confronted about the delays, which were absolutely due to short work hours and no show days, the contractor became defensive and extremely difficult to communicate with thereafter with long stretches of no responses to questions and ludicrous excuses. It was extremely distressing because other work that was being done on our home needed to be delayed multiple times, while we waited for the bathroom to be finished. We had to have some return visits for very subpar work, mostly related to improper wall preparation and painting, but overall, the workmanship was fine. Even after the work has been done almost a month, we are still waiting for the designer to make her final visit where final billing will be given. She says that the delay is because they are waiting on a gift basket. Really?! This must be some gift basket! I cannot wait to be truly done with KSI. This was a trial run for other projects we want done, including large projects of kitchen and master bathroom remodel, and I would love to say that KSI will miss our business but I am not sure that they even care or will notice.

I found a countertop and asked questions about veining because the countertops that I picked out had veins. First off the guy came to measure the countertops and they were cut two short and they gave us a hard time about that and then to tell me that I could have my contractor fill in the holes. Second I decided to use the countertops as back splashes and again asked the question about the veins matching. They told me they would match. Not the case at all. When they came to install for a second time the veins do not match the backsplashes after I was told they would. They claimed they never said this which is not true and told me that I had buyers remorse. For a $10,000 job they are doing sloppy work and do not care about the customers. I had asked about a discount because now I have to live with ugly countertops that do not match and will only receive a 5% discount which is nothing. The owner does not care about his customers and only cares about his money. Buyers beware of this place. Also when you walk into the shop the staff look miserable as they never have smiles on their faces, it's like they can't be bothered to get up to help you. Buyers beware of this place.

Go into any room in my house and if you picked up or pointed to 50% of the items and/or furniture I would tell you that it came from HomeGoods. So yeah, big fan. And I was REAL excited when they opened this location down the street from my house. Of course, my wallet may not have been so psyched, but I certainly was! This shop is huge and, thanks to the newness of the space, very clean. It has a nice selection of furniture (more than most HomeGoods locations) and a really nice array of food stuffs. Season items are also really well curated and they have a good selection of pet supplies and things as well. Selections across the board are colorful, on trend, and fantastic for gifting. Check out can be a little slower, mostly because the staff members are quite chatty. If you're not in a hurry this can be very fun and enjoyable, but if you're trying to get out of there in a short time it can be a bit tiresome. Give yourself a few extra minutes if you're in a rush.

I took the one back to the store (the others had juice), asked if I could just swap out the one bottle because the others had juice in them now. Nope, wont do that, asked if I could buy a whole other set and get discounted for the value of the single bottle? Nope, they wouldn't do that. The girl called for a manager. A guy named Cedric came and refused to help. In fact, he had a HUGE chip on his shoulder over the situation, in spite of the fact that I brought the packaging with it with the barcode and he could have easily got another sale out of it. I went back a few weeks later and the same manager was staring at me like I was a shoplifter or something. It was awful. I absolutely won't be back, but that's probably how they want it. I was treated how you would treat someone who you wanted to know you didn't want them back. I didn't have my receipt (I had the card I paid with, which they wouldn't look up, even though I literally returned an item like a decade ago, and thats EXACTLY how they looked up my purchase). I found the receipt once I got home, but didn't bother going back. It literally wasn't worth the gas at that point to make a second trip. Their prices are ludicrous too. You think, oh prices are going up because the cost to ship is going up, but they've literally retagged items that were already in the store with higher prices. Very slimy vibe.

No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

Minus 1 star for taking all damn Summer and part of the Fall. 2) Initial demo of bathroom tile on second floor shook loose a connection in the copper piping in the floor, flooding first floor and basement. Took months to get everything cleaned-up to near-original condition, required constant hounding to get their attention. Minus 1/2 star for the poor attention to a problem they created. 3) They asked for a progress payment when only 1 milestone associated with the payment was finished, a walk-through with a subcontractor. Minus 1/2 star for requesting money for nothing. 4) Remodel included repair to water-damaged ceiling in laundry room. The work was not on the original schedule, kept asking when the work would be done, they responded with, "What work?". Had to break out the contract and quote them back their scope-of-work. The project manager's response? "Wow, I didn't realize that, sorry". Paraphrasing. Minus 1/2 star for Read Your Own Damn Contract. 5) Had a gas fireplace insert installed. Three times. Installed before the wall behind was insulated and finished so it was removed for that, then re-framed and re-installed in the wrong place, had to be re-re-framed and re-re-installed. Minus 1/2 star making something simple so complicated. 6) Had portable storage pod in driveway. Had some landscaping scheduled for after the original finish date which required the pod to be gone. Project manager "guaranteed" work would be done before landscapers started, which wasn't true. Minus 1/2 star for making me complain. 8) We kept having morning meetings, sometimes changes were discussed. I'd come home to find work was done without the changes. We kept having meeting, I kept bringing up the same issues, time and time again. Minus 1/2 star for not taking notes. 9) It's the 4th of July, were on vacation in Chicago, our neighbors call and say there are 2 unmarked cargo vans at our house - is everything OK?. I call the project manager, who says there are no workers at the house, so I call the police and start scrambling - what is the best way to ruin our vacation so I can get back home fast? But - Oops! It's some painters, they're in the house, false alarm. Minus 1/2 star. 10) Had a hardwood floor put into an office space room. On a Monday, the project manager e-mailed me to say the wood would be delivered that day and installed on Wednesday. I get it, it's called "acclimating". I get home that night and the floor is down. Then it sat there for maybe a month before it being top-coated. Minus 1/2 star for what was the rush to ruin the wood? 11) The bathroom remodel is at "plumbing final inspection has passed". My wife takes a bath in her long-awaited, life-long-dream of a soaking tub. I hear it raining in the house. Something came loose, water is poring through a light fixture into the room below. The next day, the project manager - who I haven't seen in a month - comes in, doesn't say a word to me. Not, "Hey sorry this happened, glad your wife didn't get electrocuted, we'll get this fixed...", none of that. Not a word. I ask for Meadowlark to come up with a plan in writing to put GFI's on the circuits that could get flooded if this happens again. Their response displays a genuine lack of concern for my family's safety. Minus 1 star for making me so angry that I post a video of the water pouring through my ceiling to their Facebook page. 12) Lots of other issues I didn't even cover (e.g., the "4-star" painters). In their defense everything looks pretty good, finally. So plus 2 stars for that. So, unless my math is poor, that means 5 stars minus 6 stars plus 2 star = 1 star.
