friendly service, got an amazing deal on a pair of chore boots, and of course some gear for Hank! Very satisfied for my first time and DHG! Also, $1 coffee, can't beat that.

Downtown Home & Garden sometimes has farm animals you can pet!

I love this whole stretch of stores at Downtown Home & Garden, located in the outskirts of downtown Ann Arbor and within easy walking distance of Main Street. This spot is dog friendly and even offers water bowls and dog treats to the furry friends walking by! Downtown Home & Garden stretches the entire block with different entrances to its various stores, whether it's patio furniture, kitchen supplies, garden/farm supplies, a greenhouse, a beer garden, outdoor gear, etc. There's a different store for each of these spots and it's always fun to go down the line here to peruse the rotating selection, even if I find that majority of the items that catch my eye are out of my budget! There's also Bill's Beer Garden adjacent to this stretch of DHG stores and what I believe to be a cute DHG event space behind their stores as well! Everything that I have purchased purchased from here is absolute quality and I love their selection so much for their unique offerings that I truly have been hard pressed to find anywhere else. Their products are elevated, so if you're looking for things that aren't just your run-of-the-mill and more personal and unique to you, your gear, your house or what have you, then this is definitely the spot for you! I love it here so much and when I do one day have my own house (currently in a condo), I know that I'll be coming back here to stock my space with a lot of what DHG has to offer! I'm in particular looking at the patio furniture options, gardening, and a ton of their kitchenware as well! Love this place!!!!

Quality, serious work gloves with plenty designed for women sizes.

I've been here a few times when visiting Ann Arbor. Usually I just look or see what my hosts are buying. I have always been impressed with the quality and selection of the stock which ranges from very practical basics as well as great decor and housewares items. Though I have a great selection of gardening gloves in my own city, I have been looking for years for something I never seem to find, long gauntlet, leather work gloves designed to fit a smaller woman's hand. And right here, I found them. If I lived here, I would shop here frequently. Even visiting, I expect to find things like these gloves to take home with me. The staff was very friendly and it was quite busy on a Saturday morning and they even had a pickle tasting in progress.

We bought a fiddle leaf fig from here at the beginning of August. The staff was super helpful and answered all our questions about the plant. It had a few leaves with brown spots on it so I was a little concerned that it was going to die on us but the woman who worked in the greenhouse area assured me that with proper care and moving the plant to a different pot it would be fine. They even offered to repot it for us on site. In the month that we've had it, it has perked up and even sprouted 2 new leaves due to the great care tips they gave us.

Pretty good plant selection! I was interested mostly in air purifying plants and was able to find a healthy medium size snake plant and a super tiny and cute spider plant! The coolest part of this place is if you buy a pot and a plant they will replant it for you in the new pot for no extra charge!

What a treasure! Birdseed, soil, cooking pans, knives, hats, and more. Great people. Prices are fair and reasonable. A step back in time.

The first cooking class was Latin steak night where we made steak with chimichurri and gelato for dessert. The second cooking class was crabcake with steak and garlic aïoli with oven roasted asparagus and chocolate lava cake. It was such a delicious meal. And she is a fantastic instructor. I've signed up for my third class and can hardly wait. As for the store itself, the staff are really nice. I've purchased a number of items here. If you take a cooking class you also get 10% off in the store which I took advantage of. The room for the class isn't very big. The class consisted of 3 tables of 8. Twenty-four people per class is too big. It felt too cozy. I've taken a Sur La Table class before but it's been awhile. I remember it being more hands-on. In this class, we barely did anything. The lobster was cooked and cut for us. We cut some herbs and mixed the dressing. Not very exciting. The potatoes were pre-cooked and one person from each table got to smash them. We were given all the ingredients for the pie and we threw it all together and into a pan. The dough for the roll was premade for us. We each took a piece and rolled it into the shape of a roll. The Rickey was made for us. I wouldn't take another class.

Sprouting Chefs is new to the Ann Arbor area, and offers hands-on cooking classes for children and teens ages 8-16. Reasonably priced at $45 a session and conveniently located in the spacious kitchen of the Westminster Presbyterian Church on Scio Church Road, Sprouting Chefs offers attendees the chance to make new and theme based meals in a safe, fun and supportive environment. Throughout the 2 1/2 hour class, Lilian and an assistant provided supervision and instruction to the students, as they moved through all of the steps to make three age appropriate, yet creative menu items. In the class my daughter attended, they made a cucumber salad, homemade Southern-style macaroni and cheese, and mixed berry shortcakes with lemon curd. Completely at ease with the children, Lilian infused the class with instruction on technique, such as how to properly hold a knife; kitchen rules, such as to always say "behind" when you are coming behind someone with boiling water or a hot pan; and nutrition information, such as information on the differences between organic, locally grown and conventional produce. At the end of the class, which included a generous tasting of all the dishes, my daughter and her friends left with a take home bag of the dishes they had prepared and a recipe booklet so that they could make the recipes at home with their families. The girls had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend the class to other children and teens who enjoy and want to learn more about cooking.

I have to say I've been really impressed and I was hesitant to call because of the reviews. I would like to state that I made them aware of what my expectations were in the beginning for each property. You can not expect a house cleaning company to do a deep clean when you did not request these services. I also would be pissed if I was supposed to come clean your home and you were too lazy to clean up your flour and dishes from making cookies. That's just beyond disrespectful for the cleaners who would also be human beings just like yourself. I would've gave them five but there was a tiny billing issue of which was corrected immediately.
