I can't say enough good things about Building Blocks Daycare. Ms. Nina (owner) who runs the daycare at her home is basically the sweetest, most caring & reliable human I've ever met. She also is extremely good at running her business. She truly cares so much for the kids. It's like taking your kid to grandmas house...she treats them like that. Our son went here from 1.5 yo to 3.5 yo. I think all of us and parentheses me and my husband and my son were really sad to have to say goodbye but it came to a point where our son needed to go to a larger preschool. It was so sad...I think we just really knew that we were all going to miss each other, especially my son! Ms. Nina was so understanding and agreed that he was ready to move on but expressed how much she would miss him. It was such a safe place for all of us for those first few years with him and I feel so lucky that we found her especially because we have baby number two on the way. The preschool usually has I believe 6 to 10 children and I think there's a max of children under two years because by law they can only have a certain amount of younger babies. Ms. Nina makes them lunch every day which is fantastic. All the kids are so happy there. All the parents loved it too it's just a really simple set up. You pick up and drop off at her house and there are no weird rules about needing to get them there by a certain time etc. there's basically just a daily timeframe 7-6pm and you drop-off and pick up whenever you can which was really important for us because our schedules are constantly changing. We really appreciated that flexibility! Ms. has her stuff together, she's extremely organized and really just embodies kind of the perfect person you'd want taking care & overseeing the care of your kid all day. There are generally at least two teachers there for the group of kids, I think sometimes there's up to three, including Ms. Nina. I could go on and on and on but honestly I didn't even wanna leave a review because I don't want people to go here and then there be no space for our second kid jk she's the best. I can honestly say I don't have one negative thing to say about this place. Highly recommend!!!!!! We still communicate with her all the time and need to FaceTime soon. We all miss her! read more

We have had our little girl with Ms. Nina at Building Blocks Daycare for almost 3 years now. Ms. Nina is kind, compassionate and my daughter just loves it at Building Blocks Daycare. She is having a great time learning in a caring environment. My daughter brings home little books and worksheets. We review them with her and enjoy it. I cannot rave enough about Ms. Nina and her team. My husband and I are extremely grateful to have them in our son's life (huge blessing for our whole family)! I was expecting my son (2 1/2) to take at least a few weeks to settle in and become adjusted when he first started - it happened immediately. Me Being a first time, stressed out mother & having to go back to work when my baby was just 3 months old was probably one of the hardest things I had ever imagined. Just The dreaded thought of Searching for daycares that I would feel comfortable enough (after hearing so many daycare horror stories) to leave my baby with was one of my worst fears. I lost endless nights of sleep over it. Shed so many tears Searching day in and day out for the right fit for my baby. At one point I didn't even think I'd be able to go back to work because of my fear of leaving my baby with a total stranger... that is until we met Nina. From the moment I walked through Nina's front door I knew there was NO one else that I would ever feel so comfortable with. Nina & her home both give you an instant feeling of comfort and true, genuine love. After chatting and interviewing for an hour or so, we knew Nina was the one. We signed her daycare forms so fast that you would have thought my pen left smoke trails behind. I cried as I sat with Nina & then cried some more leaving her home because I did not know how I could have been so blessed in that moment to have found her. Another month went by & my daughter started her first day with Nina - at just 3 months old. I went back to my first day of work without 1 SINGLE ounce or feeling of stress.. I knew my baby was being just as well taken care of with ms. Nina as she would be at home with my husband & I. My daughter is now over a year old & I have to drag her out of Nina's house at the end of the day & explain to her that ms. Nina's arms need a break too. My daughter even says her name & asks for her on the weekends. Can you blame her? Ms. Nina is a true Godsend & we love her with all our hearts. If you're looking for daycare for your infant or toddler, you literally don't need to look anywhere else! Upon meeting Nina we instantly fell in love with her warm spirit and kind, gentle nature. She truly loves the children and gives them so much love & affection that we were beyond confident our baby girl would be in great hands. We had her there part time for about 6 months, and by the end my daughter (who is a huge mama's girl) wouldn't even want to leave when I came to pick her up! If that isn't a testament of how happy she was in the daycare, I don't know what else is! I had my daughter previously in a much different environment (kindercare), and she kept getting so sick, I had to take her out of it. We are so thankful we found Nina's. The ONLY reason we stopped going was because we moved away, but we all will miss Nina so very much! PROS - Beautiful, private home in a safe neighborhood - She provides the children with healthy meals (a hot lunch and fruit for snacks) so you don't need to bring your own (unless they are only on milk or purees) - Learning environment--our daughter learned to say ABC and 123 at 18 months! They also do arts & crafts, lots of singing, circle time with stories, etc. Basically everything you would want and more. - Small outside space for them to play - Separate, cozy room for nap time - Tons of fun toys for the kiddos to play with and just have fun CONS - I can't think of any! My heart goes out to all parents faced with choosing a daycare. It can be a stressful decision for so many reasons. But rest assured and lucky you if you get our spot at Building Blocks. read more

We sent our first child to Nina, after searching for many day care providers and we couldn't have been more happy with the results. She is a true mother at heart and loves taking care babies. Our particular case was very demanding since our little boy was recovering from an anal abscess/fistula which we had been battling for 3 months before we sent him to Day care at 6 months of age. Nina, took care of him like he was her own. The care required to constantly and carefully clean the anal fistula of discharge was definitely above and beyond the call of duty for anyone outside of his true parents. Our daughter was at Building Blocks for 2 1/2 years starting at 8 months old. Given that she was our first, we were very nervous about leaving her anywhere and we couldn't have made a better decision than to choose Ms. Nina's! We can honestly say that Nina is family to us and it was a very difficult decision for us to leave when our daughter was ready for preschool. Nina and her staff are caring, loving and so attentive. Her place is so much more than a daycare, she invests a lot of time in teaching the kids so many great life skills - manners, letters, numbers, days of the week, months, seasons, senses, colors and so much more! We were constantly amazed how our daughter was developing under Ms. Nina's care. They spend time making art, singing, reading books and having dance parties! Whenever we were having a difficult situation with our daughter, we were always able to share it with Nina and she incorporated it into her day to bring it up at circle time, etc. In that way, she was a parenting partner. Another thing that was important to me in early months was a daycare that was supportive of exclusively breastfeeding, which Nina was. Our son has been with Nina at Building Blocks Daycare for about six months now and we couldn't be happier with this service! I had pulled him out of a kindercare daycare because he seemed very unhappy there and i was often getting complaints that he was biting other children. Further more, my wife and i were concerned that he had a slight speech delay and he really didn't seem to be getting any attention at the previous daycare. I chose Building Blocks Daycare because the center was immaculately maintained, extremely child-centered, and because it was run by Nina who clearly has a unique passion for working with children! In the short time he has been there, he has truly blossomed. His speech is now advanced for his age and his interaction with other children is vastly improved (no more biting!). As a bonus, due to the smaller class sizes, he is almost never sick. Most importantly, he seems very happy when i drop him off for school (in fact, he sometimes protests being picked up from class)! I honestly feel that Building Blocks Daycare is the single best investment i have made for our son. To put it in perspective, my wife and i willingly commute 1 hr to work so we can live close to the daycare (as opposed to living five minutes away from work). Although sometimes oc traffic can be brutal, when i see how happy jude is to see mrs Nina at school, it makes every second worth it.
