Denis, Alex, and his team did a fantastic job on my project! It was a full gut, bathroom, laundry,…read moreand kitchen remodel. I even added a siding replacement on part of the house, along with some wood rot repairs. There were a ton of details throughout the various projects that they helped with or had suggestions on how to complete them, if there was a delay, they were on it, trying to find alternative vendors. If there were any changes or things that I didn't care for, they took care of it. I am very pleased with the final product and Oakwood Remodeling Group. I would highly recommend them for any of your remodeling needs.

I know quality work when I see it, and I'm happy to report that Oakwood Remodeling Group does quality work. We contracted with Oakwood to replace out tub/shower with a walk-in shower. Their estimator Denis was courteous and thorough, and after several days clarifying details, he gave us a very competitive and firm price. One great advantage of using Oakwood is that their crews tend to do all the work themselves instead of scheduling and calling in a series of subcontractors. Illya and his helper did the demolition, plumbing, new tile, drywall, electrical and flooring themselves. No waiting for subs. Alex and all members of the firm were courteous, cooperative and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Oakwood Remodeling Group.

Background: Our original rear patio redwood deck was initially installed in 1980, when our House…read morewas first built. Existing dark brown deck boards were lifting with plank screw fasteners exposed. After an unsuccessful attempt to use of Behr penetrating stain, boards were partially restored to a dark brown. After one year, the Behr stain began to visibly peel off of all components of the deck. Douglas fir staircase railings did not soak in or retain the Behr stain. Last year, due to heavy rain, our adjacent underground basement flooded requiring pumping to remove water transferred through the cement foundation of the home. Project Phases: Phase 1: remove all existing wood components of the existing deck. Phase 2: Excavate deck side of the House foundation, a) paint foundation with active water resistant barrier paint to cover all House foundation areas next to the back deck. Bury white 4 inch piped highly absorbent water accumulators and interconnect piping with an existing roof gutter drain system. Phase 3: Install new TREX Transcend "Tiki Torch" wood grain planks using concealed TREX fastener system complimented by new black metal rust resistant stair case fencing and railing system. We were so fortunate to find KEN RECTOR CONSTRUCTION-AUBURN to engineer, furnish and design our project. Ken Rector Construction competitively bid our Project, developed a comprehensive Project Statement of Work (SOW) and Easy-to-Understand Job Contract, ordered all materials, ordered a wonderful Construction Team and was available on-site though out the Project. Ken Rector's Team knew exactly what to do, when and maintained clean-up of the Construction Site every day. We were able to relax and watch a "Dream Come True" by selecting a highly professional licensed Contractor who successfully processed and managed job and our Nevada County Building Permit for Deck & Drain Construction. Excellent Customer Service, Customer/Contractor daily Communication and workmanship! Don't delay contacting Ken Rector, he is very busy and there is a reason. You will not be disappointed and so happy for a refreshing change how a project should be done!

Instead of…read morerecommending unnecessary repairs, he suggested painting my home, which will reduce the need for siding repairs for several years and save me money. I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He was flexible, accommodating, and even replaced my patio covering with galvanized steel at no additional charge. Alex, who was in charge of painting the house, did an outstanding job. He and his team painted my entire home in just a day and a half. They carefully moved all of my belongings before starting and put everything back when they were finished. My house looks absolutely beautiful! I am extremely pleased with all of the work that was done on my home and will definitely be reaching out to GoodLife for any future construction projects. We appreciate all they did and will definitely be calling them back for our next project.

No professional contractor, they had no experience at all told me they don't install they are just sales people. Nate, the lead was the family member of the owner. I provided my research of different composite decking and Nate began telling me the one I thought was good was a Home Depot brand and not good. I asked them what they knew about the rules and restrictions of Incline village fire rating, they didn't know. They showed me pictures from a digital pad and all the photos looked terrible. Sidings of the Trek Deck boards were showing, I questioned him on this and he told me that could have been installed better. I told Nate in my original phone conversation before I agreed to the appointment I was looking for education and knowledge. They had none. Don't schedule an appointment with them. The $249 they charge is how these kids get paid. Nate had the most experience of 5 year in sales only. Not installing. He can't answer any install questions. My bid came in at $221,552 for a deck measured 1,221 square feet. Each item charge, such as rails, demo, Site dev and construction , design were charged at the same square footage. WTF. It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company only uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. He doesn't use pressure treated wood. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

They didn't come in as the lowest bid, but their presentation and cost were within project budget so they were selected. I'm glad we chose them, their team of subcontractors were on the job site every morning on time and ready to go. They handled the work efficiently, with skill, and we could not be happier with the results so far. They have to come back and do a little finish work, and some additional work we would like them to do that was outside the original scope of work (yes, we asked them to do more, that is how much we liked their service).
